The Hammering Yammering of The Buffoon Elites

It is getting harder and harder to write anything worthwhile about the domestic and international political scenes. Everywhere one looks, one sees mountebanks, liars, fools, evil doers, and just plain dopes at work--and all aided by a grotesquely incompetent, lazy, and leftist mass media.

Where to start?

How about our amazing Vice President Joe Biden? Without doubt, he is one of the stupidest politicians on the global scene--he even gives Britain's Clare Short a run for the title of Dopus Maximus. Any conservative politician with his record of plagiarism, malapropism, buffoonery, vanity, and pure unadulterated idiocy would have been laughed off the stage long ago. Not Joe, however. No, not Joe.  The press finds him "charming," a man who connects with the simple people, a man with a good heart, etc.

Now we see this philosopher viceroy lecturing gun owners with a series of made up stuff--I believe the formal term is "lies."  His little homespun homilies on the advice he supposedly gives his vacuous "educator" wife on self defense most certainly would appear to fall into the category of lies. Does anybody believe that he and his wife have talked about gun ownership? That he has advised her to get a shotgun because they live out in the middle of nowhere? That he has told his wife to fire "both barrels" into the air if she hears anybody prowling about the property? I wonder how the legion of Secret Service agents he has protecting him would respond to that? What total nonsense. He proceeds from this base of lies to tell us that we "don't need AR-15s" because, well, he finds them "hard to aim," and that everybody should buy a shotgun for home defense. In other words, what he doesn't like, or doesn't know how to use, that should be banned. He will tell us what we "need." He does all this in the guise of being a "friend" to gun owners, and the press goes along. I suppose next he will tell us we don't "need" any car than can go more than 45 mph. We don't "need" 300 brands of yogurt, or more than one TV or more than one candidate in an election. He will tell us what we "need," what we should have. Joe knows. Joe knows.

Senator McCain: An undoubtedly brave man in war, who withstood torture, and turned down repeated offers to capitalize on his father's fame and rank and get released early from the Vietnamese prison hell where he rotted. He, however, insists on pretending that he is a Republican conservative. His inept, half-hearted campaign in 2008 is why we now have to live with the Obama nightmare. He should retire or just become a Democrat and stop living the lie. He wanted desperately to be Teddy "U-Boat" Kennedy's best friend. He can't bring himself to oppose the treasonous Kerry as Secretary of State, or help stop the foolish and destructive Hagel as Secretary of Defense. He is trying to sell a snake oil immigration plan, and the only people calling him on it are some of his constituents who have had enough of his Washington nonsense, and who, unlike their Senator, seem to know what is happening along the border. McCain continues to seek the favor of the editorial writers at the Washington Post and the New York Times, when, in fact, almost nobody in the country cares what those people say.

The list goes on and on. On the international scene the world has the gangster Putin and his Foreign Affairs Frank Nitti, Sergey Lavrov. It has the malevolent Castro brothers, the putrid Chavez, the insane Correa, the thieving Ortega, the disaster of the "Arab Spring,"and the defiant Kim Jung-Un threatening fire and brimstone. What do we have? John Kerry who can't even get Lavrov (whom I know) to return his calls. And, of course, we have that other man, that one who makes Carter appear Lincolnesque and Churchillian . . . you know who, the guy on the golf links.

The European scene is equally as bleak. Britain's leadership is a gang of squabbling clowns content to watch their once very great nation descend into the Euro muck, and allow London, one of my favorite cities, to become a Third World slum full of crooks, welfare manipulators, and scads of people who hate the country that has given them safe harbor. France is done for; Spain, Greece, Italy all on the verge of collapse and dependent for survival on the already strained and sputtering German economy.

All of you can add hundreds of names to the above list. A most depressing exercise.

I need a break. Going to save my pennies, buy the new Stingray and drive off into the sunset before the political correctness cops come knocking.

  1. Well, by gosh, Dip, we see you've found the lost password in a speedy fashion. Heh.

And I'll go first with a comment, in this globe, "where angels fear to tread", these days, though God knows, we could use a world of angels, these days, perhaps carrying Gods power, not mere AR-15's.

So very much is wrong, globally. So much wrong. In my 50 plus adult years, never have such matters been so prevelant. The most troubling is the takeover of the American government by the effective enemy. That had been the one staunch anchor we used to have, to depend upon, now these idiots of government ignor the essence of the Constitution, continuously. Where is all Constituionally required elements, like the budget? The defending of the Amendments, the Constitution? We have an imposter potus who tells the Supreme Court how he wants it to vote!!!! Like against the Defense of Marriage act. And so much more.

Unfortunately, you've expressed to the tee, what is for many of us, our cognitive awareness, in this post, starting validly off with:

"It is getting harder and harder to write anything worthwhile about the domestic and international political scenes. Everywhere one looks, one sees mountebanks, liars, fools, evil doers, and just plain dopes at work--and all aided by a grotesquely incompetent, lazy, and leftist mass media."

That is a superb summation of reality today, period.

I'd like to say a million more words, a virtual data dump.

But I will ask, how did you size up Lavrov, since they are reconstituting the old soviet style agencies, these days, and returning to the days of soviet dictatorship.

    1. I dealt with Lavrov for several years when both of us were young officers at the UN. He is a very intelligent but very angry man. He hates, absolutely hates, the USA and the West and is an extreme Russian nationalist, although he is half-Armenian. He sees the world as conspiring against Russia and is very quick to take offense.

    2. " He hates, absolutely hates, the USA" and is a creature of Putin. I've always felt that the belief "they're just like us and will act that way if we just let(help) them" is one of the most fundamental mistakes you can make in foreign policy. Jesus, how they must have laughed at the Reset Button remark.

    4. Yes and even before. It's these self regarding dolts we have at the helm that either can't, don't, or won't get that part of history. I mean honestly these (our) people have no counterpoint in history I can think of for self deluding incompetence. They remind me ever so much of the ruling circle of the Roman Empire just before the northern borders collapsed in the late 300s' Grrr.

    5. Your assessment of Lavrov sounds as that of a pretty disturbed individual, seething, like a young revolutionary, with a touch of paranoia.

I would be surprised if that assessment were not also shared by one or more of the other leaders, as well, these days, too.

Thanks for the assessment, Dip. And of course welcome back, goes without saying, for your keen comments, insights, and experience, grand humor and adventures from time to time, style and fellow traveler through these worrisome times. If you gotta do road trippin, get a Jeep or Toyota, go into a quiet backcountry cabin location or a dude ranch, in the Rockies, preferably as a guest, this summer, get some quiet time in nature, maybe fishing the Gallatin River. Renew with joy of nature, try the view from on high, for some relaxation, and clearing the old mind’s eye. Try Montana, Big Sky, Wyoming, Jacksons Hole, or Colorado, in the Rockies, or in so many other golden byways in the Rockies. Preferably with broadband by Hughesnet, or such.

At least many of us share your regrets of life in the world now, in my case as never before. It is as though I’ve dropped into a stranger’s foreign land, something with only a shadow of reality, in which so few of us rather, than the majority of our American countrymen, appreciate the grave divergence that is occurring in America's path from Constitutional principles. Perhaps in the past they had no public voice to make fools of themselves, and confirm their lack of smarts, in never ending ways. I prefer to know it is the gross failure of most so called professors at colleges, who have been wasting everyone’s time, propagandizing nonsense leftist related drivel, since taking over in the ‘60’s, just after I got out of college.

The disappointing quantity of Americans exhibiting delusions, gullibility, stunning lack of logical reasoning, lack of caution or scholarship is growing to legendary portions, despite so called college educations, of those who don’t even drop out. Deception and demagoguery at all levels in political people, what a mess. The would be "emperor" has been working hard at making “his” people believe that it all comes handed down and given by “his” benevolence, both law giver and privilege giver!!!! A Machiavelli himself. Beyond just he, are so many colluders and collaborators, who don’t care about America or don’t know, both in the regime and Congress.

Too many people forget, are lulled into trance, hell, most never learned, that the potus is a only a manager, not an imperial majesty, who is to answer to the Constitution, and We, The People. And too many people forget that is also true about the Congress, as well. Certainly most of Congress has forgotten such, with lip service offered to constituents. What kind of dipstick fool is a Joe Salazar of Co. who puts women into the position of incapably stupid chattel who must not be trusted with guns. Of course Joe Bidet, trusts them to only blow a couple blasts from a window with a shotgun only, ‘cause women just don’t nor can know how to aim a real gun!!!!! Of course this potus never grew up in, nor was educated really, in America, as an American, so he knows less well who and what he is supposed to be, nor cares, by all evidence.

Alan Caruba, another rich thought conservative, has relevant thoughts on this all here:

  4. Joe Biden Probably Has Brain Damage
    === ===
[edited]  Doctor: Years ago Biden suffered a ruptured cerebral aneurysm. Modern medicine and surgery saved his life. Ruptured aneurysms frequently lead to brain damage. Biden’s behavior suggests to me that he may have suffered frontal-lobe damage. The frontal-lobe allows us to inhibit our impulses so that we do not immediately utter everything we think.
    === ===

A bleeding blood vessel in the brain causes the death of nearby cells. In a motor area, the person suffers paralysis or weakness of the muscles controlled by that area. In the frontal lobes, a thinking area, the person suffers mental disability which is often subtle and mysterious.

Joe Binden was a young, skilled politician at the time of his brain bleeds. Luckily for him, politics supports many people with badly functioning brains. That disabiliy is almost a requirement. So, let's have a touch of sympathy when criticizing him. He is doing very well, given his limitations.

  5. I'm with you, Diplomad. It's too depressing to pay attention anymore. Before the elections, when I worried that Romney couldn't pull it out, I reconciled myself to Obama's re-election with the thought that Obama would then own it all. The bad economy, the disastrous foreign policy, the overwhelming debt, etc., because he wouldn't be able to talk about the mess he inherited anymore. It would be his mess. But now I realize that he never will be held accountable for any of it. He will always be able to blame the GOP for every ill because the media will help him do it. Depressing.

  6. Might this be as good a forum as any to discuss how we conservatives of the informed executive class (by that I mean educated professionals who still choose not to head to the bunkers and totally check out of society) can survive this? And dare I say, benefit from it? I won't let these bastards beat me, but I can't beat them either. So how do I/we take advantage of this sad situation? I'm not like the Diplomad--I can't yet just buy a 'Vette and drive off into the wilderness. I still have a couple more decades of retirement preparing before I can go Galt.

My first thought is that 401ks, bonds and other long-term cash-denominated investments are now a bad idea. The crooks will confiscate our money stealthily through inflation. I think real estate is the safest thing right now, bearing in mind there will nevertheless be increasing property taxes and punitive landlord laws. Still, they can confiscate gold bars, they can nationalize investment accounts, they can tax us and destroy our savings with quantitative easing. But land is the last thing they will take, because that's when the shooting will really start.

It is something needed to see to behold, an heroic movie, because if reminds one of the identical mentality of the islam gang of hating bullies--and it's eternal daily global murders, but islam is of such greater lethality, encompassing everyone, even their own.

A core of required eternal hatred, eventually leading to absolute vapid cold empty hearts and minds, just the same as the drumbeat of evil nazi propaganda accomplished in most in the German nation at the time.

Sadly, the movie has too many lessons and examples of principles applied to evil destructive ends, that apply to America right now, and cautions for the near future, in terrible reality!

    1. Really Destructive Maniacs
04/2012 - Dr. Sanity  [edited, rearranged, emphasis added]
      === ===
The compassionate type of narcissist is more subtle and equally destructive. He pursues an aggressive idealism/utopianism despite the misery it causes in other people's lives, and despite the dead bodies left behind. This malignant narcissism is always justified because it is for "your own good", "the common good", or "to make people better".

The selfish narcissist is preoccupied with "Me, Me, Me" and uses others for his own aggrandizement and reward. Both he and the compassionate narcissist ("Look at how wonderful I am for making you better!") do not see other people as distinct individuals with needs and desires of their own, but only as fodder for the expression of some ideal, or as pawns to achieve the utopian fantasies of their own ideology.

Both types think they are superior and know what is best for all. If they happen to personally benefit financially, socially, and culturally, then all the better! They deserve it for their extraordinary compassion and good works.

So glad to have you back. I had thought it was time to saddle the horses and go looking for you. Do not stay silent too long. Stuff like you write needs an outlet.
I have to say I was worried, in case one of those Doctors Obama is always talking about might have cut off your foot while repairing your knees. Glad to see that isn't the case.

Insights like yours help those of us who still have skin in the game, ie., children in the military fighting for this freedom Obie is trying to take away from us. So, please don't let too much ground keep you from keeping the keyboard warm. You cannot realize how you touch lives, give humor, and producing thoughts that give insights.

I feel that Obama is getting ready to have a taste of reality. My Dad once observed that even a fool can pull a bull's tale once but the second time back for jest, will find himself looking for his teeth or his head when the bull gets through with him. I reckon that reality when it bites will be thoroughly significant enough to shake up even the most determined leftist.

  15. ETR, some nice comments there, but the last paragraph brings back great memories of spring beauty, coming here in 4 months. I can imagine the beauty and the scent of the dogwoods, though I'm currently enjoying a moderate snow storm in another form of beauty, that I also appreciate. I was raised back east in the crocus, tulip, daffodil, and dogwood belt, including fireflies, on still summer nights. Now, by choice, I get to see another type of beauty from on high, summer and winter. Nice spring description, ETR.

And "Do not stay silent too long. Stuff like you write needs an outlet." is the belief of all of us here, I can see, thanks for saying it that way. We all appreciate his fine efforts, and look forward to his thoughts with eager anticipation.

  16. To build on what Dip has said, I suppose it's obvious by now the Obama administration has thrown up its hands and admitted it's all beyond them. If they even have an objection to what's going on in the world. The North Koreans show us what they think about us and our UN ballistic missile sanctions by conducting an underground nuclear test. Their largest so far, and if reports are to be believed using a miniaturized device. The whole middle east is on fire. And our new Secretary of State gives his first foreign policy address in Virginia on global warming.

The Washington village idiot who's to be our new Secretary of Defense was too stupid to stick to the script and accidentally revealed the truth. We don't have a policy of prevention toward Iran going nuclear. As Hagel said, military action against Iran is "unthinkable." The one thing that would stop them is unthinkable. So, hello to our newest nuclear power. Hagel kept using the term "containment" when discussing the Obama policy regarding a nuclear Iran until Carl Levin corrected him. I believe by "containment" they meant containing Israel, the one country thinking of doing the "unthinkable" if we are not.

The world is too hard. It's a lot easier to beat up on Americans. I wish we had a two party system, and there was an opposition party member who'd have the guts to stand up and say the only reason we're talking about disarming Americans is because this government is too afraid to talk about disarming Iran. But we don't.

Sorry. I spent 20 years in the Navy and it looks like my time would have been better spent building a business in Costa Rica or Belize.

  20. It's very strange how a leader arises to match the spiritual level and aspirations of a nation. Washington and Lincoln and Reagan all arose at a time of crisis, a crossroads. America surely faces an equivalent dilemma now. The irony is on its face the crisis today is NOT as potent as past ones, but has been made such by today's leaders. It's as though external events dip down alarmingly but the mettle of the people remains high, and so a leader emerges to lead the country up out of its crisis. External events hardly dipped at all this time around, in 2007/08. The only real difference was the ginned-up, totally artificial Bush-hatred that preceded the 2008 election. I felt then and I feel now that America is simply reaping the whirlwind for its unbelievably harsh, unfair treatment of an accomplished, sincere, spiritual man of deep conviction - former President Bush. And yes, the media and Hollywood and academica led this lynch-mob. I really felt then that there was no way America could escape the consequences of such immoral mistreatment of an honorable man. Actions have consequences.

President Bush literally saved the nation from multiple subsequent terror attacks. He created the conditions for an emergent democracy in Iraq. He arrested and reversed the AIDS epidemic in Africa with a simple but inspired program for timely treatments in communities across the continent. He is literally revered in Africa to this day.

America is reaping the karmic whirlwind for how it treated President Bush. And even now, even now, there is still a refusal by the media and the intelliegentsia to acknowledge how unjustified their lies and misrepresentations were, and equally they deny how they enabled and excused the most vicious and destructive Presidency in the modern world. Obama will be America's Caligula before he's through. There's no bottom to the depravity and destruction and endless self-justifications of which such a psychopathic narcissist is capable.

It may be so that Russians are paranoid, but even the paranoids have enemies...now and then. How I wish a certain Republican Professor in Houston could muster even one ounce of the hate they have for Russian officials instructing West Texas investigators how to do their job when an adopted kid dies under questionable circumstances and turn that rage upon the TSA that gropes disabled and other children daily in this country. Alas, like the Vichy French some hate certain foreign governments and powers more than they care about the Fascists occupying their country.

  23. Again with the comment above I'm not saying Ron Paul had enough votes to win the GOP primaries, or even making it all about Paul at all, as many Paul haters accuse even the slightest sympathizer of in many a comment thread.

I'm merely saying the outcome in Iowa, Maine and numerous other states Paul stood a chance of winning was severely rigged, not only against the hated 'Ronulans', but also against Rick Santorum, whom I personally disliked as a nincompoop.

There are many people with whom I might disagree with about foreign policy who nonetheless will stand up against D.C. lawlessness rather than just mutter about it occasionally and then go on damning all the leaders of Eurasia and Eastasia...er, Russia and China because it's 'safe'.

One thing that has turned me off about the Russians of late -- they used to put real libertarians on Russia Today. Sometimes they still do, at least on the TSA or drones. But all of their reporting on the 2nd Amendment of late has been pro-gun grab, even though they give the anti-gun grab people slightly more direct quotes. That's going to lose them some audience in America, though probably not abroad.

Don't the Russians understand that in a world where the American gun owners is disarmed and the U.S. slides into tyranny the globalists will ally with China against them?

  26. Really not surprised at Biden--he is exactly the kind of buffoon the Left wants for its people. A bascialy decent, but non-too-bright kinda fella that is willing to say/do whatever is asked of him regardless of the assult on his dignity.

A person that clearly is not really that infromed about guns--yet is willing to go on the record about what people "should" have and how they "should" use it.

My only real question is: "Does Biden know he sounds like a poorly informed near-lunatic or is his heart in the right place but sadly he is a poorly informed near-lunatic?"

But I save my real vemom for the "media" that allows him to get away with his foolish statements.

    1. I used to share that opinion - Biden being decent. I had looked at net worth of our Senators and he was at the bottom of the list. Made me think that while he might be a dumb as a sack of hammers, at least he isn't as corrupt as the rest. But then... somehow Biden's immediate and extended family have amassed great wealth during Biden's 'public service' by feeding at the public trough. Now I fear Biden may actually be one of the more devious and dangerous of the lot.

  27. How to survive and prosper is the hard thingy now. If I were young and ambitious again, I'd move most lickety split to a state with low government overhead. States like CA, IL, NY, Mass and other deep blue states I'd never consider for raising a family and creating wealth. The genius of our Founders enabled people to vote with their feet and we may be seeing that happening right now. In a generation the US may be voting very differently with less political power in states like CA, Mass and all the others.

  28. Concur about Sen. McCain. He should have gracefully retired from politics after his abortive presidential run. (Or, preferably, before.)
I will defer to no one in my admiration for those who serve and have served our country in the military, from the Spec Ops folks down to the lowliest cook and truck driver. But. But.... A politician can only coast on his military experience and service for so long, and then must demonstrate his fidelity to our Constitution by his voting behavior, and by the causes and candidates he supports.
Senator McCain's concept of compromise is my concept of utter surrender.
BTW, if the Republicans surrender on the sequester and/or CR issues and agree to raise taxes (by whatever method they may agree to do so) without substantive reform of the big three entitlements, I suggest that would lay a firm foundation for the rise of an effective and electable new party on the right.
    What do y'all think?

  29. Hmm, discharging a firearm into the air, I think that's a felony. Then what goes up must come down so those pellets could fall on somebody, probably another felony. You have now alerted the scumbag as to your position, not too bright. You have wasted two shells, not too bright. And on and on...

  30. "Lincolnesque and Churchillian"

I guess you are referring to Ward Churchill, and maybe that vampire hunter fellow?
