On the Road . . .

Heading off on a road trip to the very heart of the liberal virus's "hot zone." Yes, we are heading for northern California. Visit some family.

I will wear my HAZMAT suit the entire trip, and shall avoid bodily fluids from progressives . . .

I am taking my creaky IPAD and might be able to offer a few thoughts in the new few days, but if not, I will be back online next week.

  1. I'm guessing the Diplowife will not allow you to drive the 'vette(up HWY 1)?

BTW: If you want deranged liberalism, visit Oregon...

  2. You do know that N Cali doesn't start til the Colusa County line... it does not include Sac, Davis, or the bay area...

    safe journey!

  3. I live in the Portland area, and yes there is quite a bit of the liberalism up here, but we look down to the bay area for what real liberal craziness is about.

  4. Been here many decades and they still haven't gotten to me.
I've even listened to the craziest of the crazies of the SF-Berkeley axis powers on KPFA 94.1, and the things said there are just *inane*.
Many parts of the south/east bay aren't nearly so bad, so I just hope you can stay east of Oakland and *far* *far* from SF.
If you're stuck on the peninsula, you're just really screwed... it goes from "homeless people are happy people" in SF to "I will remake the world in my image" in Palo Alto.
Why do I still live here again?

  6. OT, but nonetheless juicy.

    http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/10/10/Oregon-s-Dem-First-Lady-Reveals-She-Received-5K-to-Illegally-Wed-18-Yr-Old-Immigrant-in-Sham-Marriage-of-Convenience

The fiancee of Oregon's gov. Kitzhaber apparently was involved in a fraudulent marriage to an Ethiopian illegal. This old consular scut recalls that such things carry five years in jail. She apparently was paid $5K--dirt cheap. If you're facing jail time for abetting immigration fraud, you should first try to get at least seven times your yearly salary. Heck, Chinese from the Fuzhou area lay out $50K to get smuggled to the USA to work in bottom-level restaurant jobs.

  7. Kitzhaber and the girlfriend have a 10 year relationship. I guess she didn't mention that in the10 years they've been together. He was an ER doc but seems to have lost the sense that got him through medical school. I met him years ago.

    1. Hard to strike up a conversation like: "Hey, I meant to tell you about the time I committed a federal felony...".. I think people think they don't know the other person well enough to open up about it... and then before they know it, they know them better/longer than they should have without owning up... so they just keep it under the rug. Stupid, but it's human nature, probably much more so for felons like this. Likely the guy doesn't have a clue either, governor or no.

  8. The sad part is that is doesn't matter because he has a "D" on his title. Now, if there was a "R" after his title it would cost him the election.

  9. Diplomad,

My daughter (HS senior) is considering a major in PS with a Spanish minor. Her goal is working at DoS.

My degree was INTAF from the AF Academy with a minor in Russian, but I went on to be a pilot and didn't use my degree until much later in my career.

Would love to get some advice on how a conservative kid of a military officer can navigate today's college environment and get a job.

email is transphat88 at the g thing.

  10. Hope you're enjoy your sojourn in No. Cal. (which does indeed include the SF Bay Area, where I live). Which leads me to a very important question: Did your journey allow you to participate in Fleet Week, which was held this past weekend in San Francisco? It's a regular reminder that, if America finally loses to ISIS, it won't be because of the men and women in our military. It will, instead, come about because America, both socially and politically, failed to support our wonderful troops.
