Progressive Putrefaction

The ice caps are not melting; the snow in the Himalayas is not melting. The only thing melting is the Obama misadministration.

The Ebola mess provides the latest sign of many that this misadministration is dying right before our eyes. Like a dead Ebola victim, however, the body still presents serious dangers.

Glad to see others catching up with the ol' Diplomad on Obama and ebola (here and here, for example) and on the whole bureaucratic, corrupt, politicized government health industry and lobby.

I see lots of commentators finally realizing--Shock!--that the CDC is not full of dedicated doctors in white lab coats working for humanity. Most are politicized bureaucrats who respond to the dictates of their masters in Washington and to popular fads, e.g., global warming, and are perpetually seeking more money.

I have made the point before that liberalism/progressivism kills,
"Liberals love humanity and hate people." Oh, and by the way, liberals will get you killed. Yes, killed. Modern liberalism kills people, and does so by the millions, all in the name of humanity, of course. It should have a warning label that asks you not to practice liberalism at home, or something along the lines of "I am a trained professional, do not attempt liberalism on your own."
The current ebola fiasco is a natural outgrowth from the ideology of progressivism and the beliefs of the one-worlders now in control in the White House and the Senate.

The Obamistas hate borders, hate the idea of national defense and national interests, and, let's face it, hate America and the West. They have done everything possible to undermine the West in its struggle with jihadism; they have done everything possible to undermine our ability to defend our borders from a tsunami of people seeking free stuff; and they now have great difficulty defending us from a disease from West Africa. The only thing we know for sure about ebola is that it comes from West Africa--everything else is open for debate. The one thing the government could do right away is a ban on flights, ships, and people from West Africa. That, however, would lead to politically awkward questions about why we can't also defend our southern border from massive illegal immigration; do something about jihadis coming to our shores; and do something about our dysfunctional immigration "system" that serves no purpose except to funnel into America new and poor wards of the state and voters for the Democratic party.

In keeping with the murderous destructiveness of progressivism we now have the ebola "Czar," Ronald Klain.

He is a joke; a second-rate political hack known as the "brains" behind Joe Biden (PLEASE INSERT MERCILESS COMMENTS HERE). He will report to two bosses: the always truthful and oh-so politically tuned-in National Security Advisor Susan "Blame it on a video!" Rice and the hapless political hack Secretary of Health and Human Services, Sylvia Burwell. If you are going to appoint an ebola Czar--and this administration has nearly forty Czars on various topics--you don't need a doctor, but you do need somebody who knows how to knock heads, make tough decisions, and transmit a sense of authority, responsibility, urgency, and competence. Can and will Klain do that? No. Lieutenant General Leslie Groves, the man who headed up the incredible Manhattan Project, was not a nuclear physicist, but he certainly knew how to get things done. Klain is no Groves.

Remember: Progressive fantasies will kill you.

Eric Holder and his fantasies about getting rid of the second amendment ended up killing hundreds of Mexicans and two US federal agents with "Fast and Furious." Obama and Clinton with their fantasies about the the Middle East and the nature of Islam killed thousands of people in Libya, Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, and have put the West at risk. You can come up with dozens more examples of how deadly progressivism is and always has been. Proceed doing so.

  1. Totally off-topic Bob but today our 'living legend' leftist former Prime Minister Gough Whitlam karked it today (finally) at age 98. His election and that of his leftist, 'progressive', yet elitist Labor Party rabble in 1972 started the rot in this country which even today we are still fighting. As could be predicted the media are alternating between weeping over his loss and joining the daisy-chain circle jerk talking up his so-called achievements, of which there are few to none. I'm having a beer in celebration, this day is long overdue.

    1. The more of that generation of leftists that die the better off humanity will be. To give them credit; they were smart (much smarter than my generation of leftists; I was born in '72) but they used those smarts to enslave entire nations. Worm-tongues, the lot of them.

    1. gDay R129 - I got banned from Catallaxy for crossing one of the self-appointed 'senior bloggers' and jellyback Davidson took her/him/its side. I could care less, there is a clique on that blog that delights in viciously insulting anyone who doesn't ascribe to the groupthink.

    2. I notice that Alveda King, the niece of MLK Jr., has called out the O's administration as an example of moral bankruptcy.

As a practicing believer, I also notice that in this poisonous atmosphere, non-discrimination has been used to attack Christian photographers and caterers who refused to service homosexual weddings--including putting the offenders in "re-education" (shades of Stalinism). I see this, and wonder if the same people would be so unforgiving towards a halal caterer who refuses to barbecue a whole hog? It seems that the Free Exercise and Free Speech clauses of the First Amendment are going by the wayside for the sake of advancing the administration's political clients.

But it isn't just the O, We have serious problems with our courts as well. Maybe in addition to impeaching the O, we should take down a whole slough of federal and state judges as well.

    3. Good comment about your judges Kepha. I always believed that those on the bench ghad to be totally apolitical but I was just naive. When the judiciary are appointed as political favours then naturally there has to be 'payback'. Sometimes it is so effing obvious it only increases the disdain that the public holds the judiciary these days.

    4. What has the Left always said? They will advance by "any means necessary". When the time comes, they will have to be defeated by "all means necessary".

    5. Just completed my overseas ballot for California. In my state, the judges have to stand for re-election although un-opposed by others.

I voted ALL of them out.

  3. Rats, you beat me to the Groves analogy. What tells the tale is that Klain is there for the "message" and Groves was there for the country. I think they know they've mostly shot their bolt, so now it's put in everything they've dreamed about (by mostly executive action) and figure enough will stick to make it worthwhile, regardless what it does to their party in the short term. Some of the Democrats are starting to realize that these guys have taken them to far to go back, so they essentially have to ride Casey's train to it's Wreck or victory. Going to be interesting.

    1. If you want a visual of the reason for our government's piss-poor energy policies, compare a photo of General Groves and either of the last two Secretaries of Energy. "Personnel are policy" and the results can be read in their faces.

  5. "Joe is the brains in the administration". That really says it all. Thanks, Cascadian, for starting my day on a high note.

  6. An example of the bureaucrats in NIH is Francis Collins who was whining about evil Republicans cutting his (enormous) budget. The Human Genome Project was a vast bureaucratic effort that was expected to spend 10 years working on the program with lots of grants for all. Craig Venter started a competing private program which was vilified by the Democrats and the bureaucrats (But I repeat myself).

" In 2000, Venter and Francis Collins of the National Institutes of Health and U.S. Public Genome Project jointly made the announcement of the mapping of the human genome, a full three years ahead of the expected end of the Public Genome Program. The announcement was made along with U.S. President Bill Clinton, and UK Prime Minister Tony Blair. Venter and Collins thus shared an award for "Biography of the Year" from A&E Network."

Clinton was no fan of Venter because his company had analyzed the dan on Monica's dress. Venter did the work and Collins shared the credit.

  7. Was this

"In March 2000, President Clinton announced that the genome sequence could not be patented, and should be made freely available to all researchers. The statement sent Celera's stock plummeting and dragged down the biotechnology-heavy Nasdaq. The biotechnology sector lost about $50 billion in market capitalization in two day"

    payback?

    1. It could have been payback to Venter or just to a presumptuous libertarian who thought private enterprise could compete with, and defeat, a public bureaucracy.

      It hasn't stopped Venter. http://www.theguardian.com/science/2013/oct/13/craig-ventner-mars

  8. How come our embassy in Seoul works 8 to 5 with AN HOUR AND A HALF off for lunch? I arrived at 11:25 am to have them take my absentee ballot and was told they were out to lunch and to return at 1 pm.

The nice man at the counter did take my ballot and said it would be sent via diplomatic pouch to the US for mailing to my county in California.

Cost me the equivalent of $25 for cab fare RT and two hours off work but voting in this election is especially important although I have dim hopes of cleaning house in my state.

Tell me there's no organized vote fraud! I shredded my second one.
