Murder in Libya

The US Ambassador and three and possibly four other members of our diplomatic staff in Libya were murdered by an "outraged" mob of Muslims.  Our Embassy in Cairo is also under attack. We can expect attacks on other of our facilities throughout the Muslim world.

This is the result of Obama's great foreign policy success in promoting the "Arab Spring," in bowing to Saudi princes, in trying to deny that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, in gutting our military, in actively seeking our defeat in Iraq, in actively seeking our defeat in Afghanistan, in actively seeking to undermine Israel, and in actively seeking to minimize the threat posed by Iran. The one thing that the Muslim mobs know how to detect is fear and weakness. They have detected that in President Obama, the Democratic Party, and the hapless Hillary Clinton.

Americans need to wake up to the fact that Obama is dangerous for America. Meanwhile, our people get murdered by those whom we have helped.

I would not use any of those words to describe Hillary Clinton. She is incompetent to be sure, but she is also determined to undermine American interests in furtherance of Progressive ideology, even to the point of siding with our adversaries (China during Bill's presidency and now the Mideast). Her actions are deliberate and knowing, rooted in training that began decades ago in Alinsky's methods. The word "hapless" and all its synonyms imply that she is a mere innocent caught up in events and out of her depth, an unwitting pawn tossed about by forces she doesn't understand. As far as I am concerned, no benefit of the doubt applies to her.

Hillary and Obama, fellow Alinskyites, are equally culpable for the Arab Spring debacle, which has made the Mideast and therefore the world a far more dangerous place. They cannot be so obtuse that the consequences of their policies were unforeseen. What I don't know for sure is if their intent was limited to undermining the fragile stability of the region, or if that is just collateral damage along the way to some other more terrifying objective. Everything they have done so far seems designed to advance the destruction of America in every possible sphere of activity. If that is the case (and I am 99% convinced that it is), then all is proceeding according to plan -- and there ain't nothing hapless about it.

I pray that Hillary and Obama will one day hang their heads in shame before the Throne of God. They will surely not do so while they still walk this earth.

My sincere condolences to the families of Ambassador Stevens and the other victims.

Her undergraduate thesis is in fact titled "There Is Only the Fight . . . ": An Analysis of the Alinsky Model....

  4. Well it turns out I was wrong: the Obama White House did have some strong words after all. As reported in the Daily Mail:

"Ten minutes after midnight passed, the Obama campaign responded: ‘We are shocked that, at a time when the United States of America is confronting the tragic death of one of our diplomatic officers in Libya, Governor Romney would choose to launch a political attack.’

So they can get their dander up after all. Just not at the people who actually pillaged and murdered.

And let me add my condolences also. A sad day for those families. The death of two embassy Marine Guards is particularly painful as they serve with so many constraints on their ability to fight back it's almost absurd. And they're young, idealistic, motivated and the best America has to offer. RIP.

The commenters over there are not nearly as nice to Hillary as I was.

And Diana West gives McCain, Graham, and Lieberman a well-deserved spanking at:

  6. Just because one administrative leader fails to do HIS job is no reason for another, Mitt, to not do his. Someone in the room repeatedly and impolitely passed gas. It is not impolite to point that out in the wistful "hope for a change", to coin a phrase.

  7. Any thoughts on any sort of sensitive documents or equipment that might have been stolen from the now torched embassy? Could this have been a cover for a 'James Bond' (er, SPECTRE) operation.

  8. Diplomad, perhaps you can answer a question for me. There's been some stir over there being no Marine guards in Benghazi. But, as I understand it, this office was a consulate. Are Marines normally posted to consulates? Or is the usual practice to use local security for consular offices?

(The wisdom of relying on local security in a place as volatile as eastern Libya, an al Qaeda recruiting ground, is another matter altogether.)
