Off to DC to see my son sworn in to the DC bar.
Yes, yes, just what Washington DC needs, another lawyer . . . I know, I know.
I will take my creaky ol' IPAD with me, but you know how that goes.
I can't wait to see all the morose and depressed Dems.
I might even play a little Wagner outside the White House: Götterdämmerung!
Have a good time being the proud father. Give us a nice report on the mood,,because you have to look up folks you know while there.
ReplyDeleteA little "Ride of the Valkyries", Heh.
ReplyDeleteJames the Lesser
Well, Dip, I see morose Dems around the teachers' lounge every day where I work in the DC 'burbs. Congratulations to your son, and enjoy visiting old haunts.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...when I think of swearing in a DC bar, I think of a night out downtown with my friends talking politics...
ReplyDeleteFor a moment, I thought that such behavior might get you arrested under charges of sedition. Then I realized that no one in the current misadministration would recognize the music, much less its significance.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and enjoy the trip.
Better yet, Mozart's Requiem Mass. Congratulations (I guess) to Diploson.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Valkyries....

"I'll come in low out of the rising sun and about a mile out I'll put on the music"
ReplyDelete"Music?"
"Yeah, I play Wagner - scares hell out of the Democrats, my boys love it!"
Congrats to the DiploSon.
ReplyDeleteMight I also suggest you wander between Main Justice and the Main IRS buildings playing The Lord High Executioner's Song from the Mikado?

Ardent libertarian
DeleteMy lawyer son was a libertarian, too, when he first graduated. He just wanted to be left alone to earn money and start his life. Now that he's worked for about 3 years, has a home and stuff, and a little money ... he's becoming more conservative. I suspect that letting everyone do their own thing isn't so great when you have more to lose.
DeleteI passed the bar.
ReplyDeletedidn't go to college for that...
engineering, (several) yes...
the bar? Naw. I just klepped it.

I can't wait to see the DiploMad take on the letters to Iran and the Robin Raphel debacle. Meanwhile, enjoy the nachas fun kinder!
ReplyDeleteSend resume to Issa and then let the opposition sweat as much as those subpoened by Waxman.
ReplyDeleteCould this be actual diplomacy?

Appoint Chelsea Clinton as Amb. to Libya. What difference would it make?
