Meanwhile, Back in the Real World . . .

Well, well, and well, again.

We've had quite a couple of weeks touring the always exciting theme-park known as Progressive World. Our visit to the Liberal Maze of Mirrors in the Progressive Delusional State has shown us our brave heroes doing battle against marriage; against a 150 year old battle flag; and, of course, in favor of dependency on government subsidies for "health care." These heroes have won all three battles; it is no surprise to see them dancing in the streets waving their own gayly-colored and politically-approved battle flags, and engaging in same-sex hugs and kisses. Somebody else will pay for everything! Hurray! You can marry anybody! The Christian white guys in pick-up trucks are defeated! Gay marriage is in the Constitution but not the right to fly a Rebel flag!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch in Real World, we see something else.

In Tunisia, our old Sunni acquaintances do what they do best: prove Islam is a Religion of Peace by carrying out a massacre of at least three dozen mostly British tourists on the beach. In France, the practitioners of the Religion of Peace, have conducted a beheading at a factory. In Kuwait, Sunni "warriors" have bombed a Shia mosque killing over two dozen fellow practitioners of the ROP who didn't agree with the Sunni interpretation of how to be a Muslim.

Happy Ramadan everybody! Yes, let's COEXIST in one big happy gay commune!

So, again, while the silly prancers prance and the idiotic dancers dance on the streets of DC, San Francisco, and Seattle, the White House bathes in the gay colors of the rainbow flag, our President lectures us on the evils of the Confederacy, and the Rebel flag gets ripped down from monuments across the South, ISIS & Co. continue their march toward an Islamic Caliphate--one in which, please note, gays do not get married, they get thrown from tall buildings or hanged from cranes. While it apparently takes a delusional white guy shooting up a black church to get our President concerned about the deaths of Christians, or as he once labelled them "bible clingers," ISIS and pals such as Boko Haram have no problem slaughtering hundreds of Christians and bragging about it. Nary a peep from the Obama misadministration, but as long as the Islamists don't fly the Rebel battle flag, I guess it's OK . . .

In the end, of course, if we are lucky, those guys in the pick up trucks will suit up and save us all, again. Yes, the hated villainous "rednecks" of progressive scary fairy tales will get out of their Ram trucks and fight the Ramadan goons. The hard young men of our armed forces will need to save the soft prancers and dancers from the evil Islamists.

    Well said as always Lewis.

  2. While the "soft boys" (as F. Scott Fitzgerald called them) drink their rainbow martinis at the Ram Rod Room ... to stay with your theme.

  3. Brett, I'm with you on this one. I do not want to offer my sons to make the world safe for homosexual so-called "marriage", abortion on demand, and dependence on the nanny state.

However, I'd urge the bedrock Americans of any ehtnicity, when Uncle O or Auntie Shrillary calls, to answer back with a loud, "Hell, no! We won't go!"

I, for one, am d--d sick and tired off puffed up old poltroons in black finding "rights" in the penumbra of the Constitution which are apparently allowed to nullify rights actually spelled out in the black and white text.

Dip, you seem upset that you lost your job at the State Department. Maybe you ought to consider that you were mercifully spared the disgrace of serving under Shrillary Shroooooo. I know that had I stayed in our beloved Department, had the time come when I would have had to remonstrate with Singapore or Uganda or Jordan over unwillingness to recognize queer marriage, I'd have broken and said, "You know, you guys are right; we're wrong." The wisdom of our founders was that they understood that the state has its limits--including a divine and natural law, violation of which may rightly cost a king his head.

I've never been one to peek in closets or look under beds. But we've gotten to the point where our leaders not only want us to tolerate, but also positively celebrate perversion and to call evil good. And as an old consular scut, I smell a situation which will make the old Commie charges of Americans trafficking in the children of the poor more than credible.

Back to Brett. I sense you may be another who has read the prophets of Israel or lived under their influence enough to realize that this flaunting of irresponsibility, perversion, and dependence that has become the essence of "Americanism" in our times cannot be something which God will bless. I am not of the stock that gets called "redneck", but if you speak for that class, I gladly join you in your dissent.

  4. But will all of this start a secession movement? Perhaps Texas will lead.

  5. At this rate, I'm not too sure the hard young men will be willing to fight. Kipling's "Tommy Aktins" wasn't supposed to be a how-to guide to contempt, but that's how it's being used.

  6. Well.

Should this candidate for Congress lose I suggest we write letters to Queen Obama supporting his ... her ... whateverself as Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

    Or perhaps, Raqqa Syria.

  7. Sorry, Popular Front, I can't share your optimism. We've already put Harvey Milk on a postage stamp, even though he preyed on teenaged runaways. I see that sexual trafficking of children will be next--often under the cover of "gay families" or something like that. I see teachers and social workers forced out of their jobs because they report abuse by the officially protected perverts. As our society grows more jaded, their will be more and more refinements of perversion to keep it entertained.

Were it up to me, if Yurrup got overrun by an Islamic horde, I'd have a very restrictive refugee policy--one that would make the LGBTQs and Independent Marxists swim home.

Speaks to the point, now--don't It??

  9. I doubt it will work that way; more likely this will be stepping stone to redefine and change marriage to suit those with different tastes. Polygamy anyone, same sex polygamy, the possibilities are endless.

  10. I know that I am happy that all of my family but one are out of uniform and no longer subject to the regime. I have a Marine E-8 nephew who will be retired soon. I will not recommend that family members join the military any more. When the Supreme Court makes it official that there is no Constitution nor rule of law in the country, taking the Oath and signing that blank check is not a worthwhile bet. I don't want my family possibly firing on other members of the family.

  11. And now for the next step in the liberal war on marriage and social norms...Politico called for legalizing polygomy within 24 hours of the SCOTUS annoucement:

  12. I think this may be a good time to recommend some additional reading, such as

I would also add a sampling of the famous economist, FA Hayek, considered a 'classical liberal' thinker, which when you read his extensive work, is amazing, and reassuring, there used to be sanity....and true scholarship, not like today's poseurs, and pretenders.....

“Although we had been warned by some of the greatest political thinkers of the nineteenth century, by Tocqueville and Lord Acton, that socialism means slavery, we have steadily moved in the direction of socialism.” ― Friedrich Hayek, The Road to Serfdom

“While an equality of rights under a limited government is possible and an essential condition of individual freedom, a claim for equality of material position can be met only by a government with totalitarian powers.” ― Friedrich Hayek, Law, Legislation and Liberty, Volume 2: The Mirage of Social Justice

Thus, indications of options for future wisdom from the past scholars, a remarkable thing, with much more brilliance, to be discovered, I promise, when you research....Jack

    1. Good links there. Personally, I'm done with calling them "liberals" and such. All of them have a "D" next to their names so they are simply Democrats. I believe with the bit firmly between their teeth, Dems will act out their true Totalitarian nature.

  13. First, note that I am not the same Brett who replied to your 6:56 post.

I cannot claim to speak for the redneck class, but am of that stock. My father grew up a sharecropper's son in north Mississippi and my mother's family is spread throughout northeast Alabama. My parents were intellectuals and novelists who came up as Roosevelt democrats. That president was and is very popular with the children of the depression, even in the conservative South, which is one of the reasons the overthrow of leftist governance has proven so unobtainable at the ballot box. I grew up as what I thought was a moderate liberal, and was schooled into near socialism by my education in New York and North Carolina.

I subscribe to no religion, but am not ignorant of the prophets and the importance of the Bible to our political and literary culture, especially in its emphasis on the worth, rights and the responsibilities of the individual.

In adulthood, the systematic rejection of individual natural rights such as property and liberty of action disabused me of the notion that the left has any regard for freedom. I also learned one cannot adopt their ever-changing shibboleths fast enough to avoid their contempt, let alone earn their respect. Why try?

They have also ruined the educations of several generations of Americans. Unless one can exclude all so-called progressives and their warmed-over communist agitprop from the faculties of the schools and universities, there is no good reason for the taxpayers to continue funding those institutions.

The governing classes of this nation hate the people who create the material wealth they enjoy or defend the nation from foreign aggression. They burden the people with endless spending, taxes, restrictions and mandates, with nary a gesture toward mutual respect.

A disgusting feature of recent history was the pretense the left made of finally getting the nature of national sovereignty after 9/11, supporting the military actions taken, and then undermining them, ensuring many unnecessary deaths in the armed forces. All for the political gains they are enjoying today.

It's a good thing the left-wingers are pacifists--despite their leaving no one in peace--as they don't deserve defense. They have spent the last twenty years proving that.

Next time New Yorkers and Washingtonians yell for defense, I say the redneck class that knows its way around weapons should tell them they're on their own.

  19. When you discuss ISIS/ISIL, and you listen to Obama talk of degrade and defeat, you need to remember he has always negotiated with the Taliban. The only reason most people do not see the similarities between the Taliban and ISIS is because Afghanistan is far away from the limelight. If Obama negotiates with the Taliban he will negotiate with ISIS/ISIL. How long will ISIS have to maintain the presence of a state, and tone down the depravation, before Obama recognizes the new Islamic State. I would not be surprised to learn that a US public relations company is under contract to ISIS (via a third party of course) to improve its image in the Western world, especially the USA.
