On Syrian Refugees and Other Fantasies

Just a quick note to re-state my views on the so-called "Syrian refugee" crisis.

It's a fake, a dangerous fake.

I don't know whether to laugh or scream when I hear people who should know better argue for taking in thousands of these "refugees," after, of course, proper and thorough "vetting." That is a sham.

There is no way to vet these people. We have no idea who they are. There is no reliable data base against which one can cross-reference the stories of these "refugees." We don't even know if they are from Syria. Increasingly it appears that they are not, with boatloads now coming from Egypt. Many of these "refugees" apparently had been living in Turkey and Egypt, some for quite some time, years even, and now suddenly decided to board a boat for the EU, land of the free . . . stuff.

I previously have noted, of course, as have many others, that the "refugees" are overwhelmingly young men. Very few children and women. That has led some commentators to worry about ISIS or AQ terrorists being among these young men. That's not really the point; that's not the real threat. I would argue that even if we could develop a vetting system that would eliminate all AQ, ISIS, Hamas, etc., militants, we would still face a serious national security threat.

Even if there is not one ISIS or AQ infiltrator, I can assure you that setting up hundreds-of-thousands perhaps even millions of Muslims in the heart of Europe will irrevocably alter the culture and politics of Europe, and provide the fodder for Islamic radicalization and terrorism. We have seen it in Minnesota, for example, where the poor Somalis we settled might not not have been AQ or ISIS when they arrived, but in short order they began providing recruits for terror organizations. We see it all over Europe, even among openly economic migrants from Muslim countries: they initially arrive and perhaps are not overtly radical, but then fall into the hands of the local mosque and local gangs, and soon you have criminals and terrorists, e.g., child rape rings, the Charlie Hebdo massacre. You see it in Britain and in Australia with native-born Muslims succumbing to the call of their "religion" and its insistence on war against the infidel.

The issue is not AQ or ISIS or Hamas or Boko Haram or Hizbollah.

The issue is ISLAM, a violent, totalitarian creed that seeks the destruction of the non-Islamic world.

  1. Perhaps, if we limited any immigrant admissions to only families ... possibly Christian families ... then you clearly could ask questions about the family relationships and the Bible ... nah, forget it ... just say no.
By the bye, Diplomad, I recently did a search on Google Images using the term "soothsayer" and guess what image came up first? Why it was the picture you use as your very own. Hmmm ...?

    1. Aha! I've wondered about that, even asked Mr. Mad about it (he politely ignored me as he should).

    2. "Only families" carries a set of problems, when the heads of the families allegedly beat up their wives and children on a regular basis and prevent their daughters from attending school

  4. It's an invasion. I can understand that Germans might have conflicted views on a volkerwanderung, but still I think that Frau Merkel has been mutton-headed. Appallingly reckless. In retrospect even Germans will think it treason.

    1. P.S. If I use an Americanism such as "conflicted views" you can bet I'm being sarcastic.

    2. Just tell the Germans to relax. Talk to the Germans in language they understand. The Muslims merely seek a bit of "lebensraum" and that once they have taken over Germany they have "no further territorial claims in Europe." (Religion of) Peace in Our Time.

  6. Not even "The Donald" has broached the fallacy of "The religion of peace". The left has that belief pretty solidly cemented into culture, and threats of death to those that say otherwise, ironically.

    1. There is not much reason to go there. It's doubtful the general public buys into the 'Islam means peace' meme. The Anointed indubitably buy into the artifice that we speak as if that were true, and, of course, exhibit their usual leaprfrogging loyalties.

The thing is, Muslims and non-Muslim have worked out a modus vivendi here, there, and the next place. I doubt that's achieved by rubbing the other guy's nose in it. I will wager it is achieved by being steadfast and willing to defend your interests and your people. That's something the Davos crew on both sides of the Atlantic lack. TWANLOC, and all that.

  7. There appear to be diverse responses. Serbia is protesting that Mr. Orban in Hungary was outre enough to use water cannons and tear gas to defend his country's border against riots. Now the migrants are going into Croatia, whose police are mollycoddling them. Austria is closing it's border and Slovenia is taking steps in that direction. Croatia is facing the possibility of a train-wreck of Camp of the Saints on its territory.

    2. The public remarks of the Prime Minister of Croatia were such that they were asking for it. The one advantage Croatia has is a coastline. You could load these people on a barge and take them back to Turkey, if you're willing to use live ammunition.

  9. And Obama wants to let (at least) 10,000 of these people into the U.S.

    "Fundamental tranformation" indeed.

Time to buy some land in the boonies and stock up on ammo, food, medicine, and anything else necessary to survive the coming Jihad:-(.

    1. Look again ... the number is now 100,000 and, unless stopped by Congress, it will go higher. Why doesn't anyone question how these immigrant surges (like last summer's tidal wave of "children" from Mexico and Central America) get started. I don't think such pump priming is by happenstance.

    2. without a veto-proof majority, how can congress stop this? and even then, it would really require an impeachment.
It's a funny shift on executive authority in his tenure, but it's there nonetheless.

    3. The GOP in Congress is going to have to use the power of the purse and defund any agency that issues visas or else start impeachment against the henchmen in the agencies.

No way admitting this much trouble is popular with the American voter. Let Trump demand it stop and watch his poll numbers surge - that will show it is safe to act.

    4. impeachment's not going to happen... obama coudl pretty much run around killing people with a machinegun and dems and the media would leap to cover his 'legacy'.

    5. The notion of impeachment against appointees that have had Senate confirmation is gaining ground. There are certainly reasons for removing Koskinen for example.

      I didn't mention Obama - I said "henchmen."

    6. understood that there's a bit of a distinction, but most likely Obama will just ignore it and order it ignored... what's he got to lose? they're not going to impeach him no matter what.

  13. The soi disant migrants are indeed a threat to Europe. But they're heading to Germany and they don't know how big a mistake they're making.

Like most western countries, the German people are burdened by mad PC, combined with a large amount of WWII guilt. So, I suspect the Islamic invaders will push against German society as is their wont, and the Germans will bend in response (as all of our western societies are doing at the moment) until they can bend no more, and then they will snap.

The world saw the Germans snap twice during the 20th century and it wasn't pretty. Remember, these are the folks who brought us the holocaust. When the Germans decide they've had enough of being played for fools, they will move against the invaders with their characteristic efficiency and it will not end well for the invsders.

  14. I know, the UN demographic numbers are just part of the liberal, commie conspiracy against you guys ;-) , but I thought I'd share them anyway: "The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees — which refers refugees for resettlement in other countries — says there are more than 4 million registered Syrian refugees. Its figures on the demographic makeup of refugees is based on available data on the 2.1 million who were registered by the UNHCR in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon. (Another 1.9 million Syrian refugees were registered by the Government of Turkey, and more than 24,000 were registered in North Africa.)
UNHCR’s data show that 50.5 percent of refugees are women. Females age 18 to 59 make up 23.9 percent of the refugees, while males in that age group make up 21.8 percent.
Even younger males — age 12 to 17 — represent 6.5 percent of refugees, while females that age are 6.1 percent. The majority of refugees — 51.1 percent — are under age 17, including 38.5 percent who are younger than 12 years old. These numbers were as of Sept. 6." http://www.factcheck.org/2015/09/stretching-facts-on-syrian-refugees/ Keep sowing that hatred and fear though, because THEY'RE the Nazis... LOL.
