Giving Hillary Clinton a Pass on Fast & Furious?

I know, I know. You don't need to tell me.

There are so many big scandals featuring Hillary Clinton and husband that it is hard to keep track of them all. She and the spouse have been caught up in mess after mess of their own creation, but, somehow, have managed to find enough well-connected loyalists to pull them out and let them move on and prosper. It is really quite amazing how scandals that would have sunk any other politician--pace Kennedy--bounce like canon balls off ol' Ironsides, leaving nary a mark. Not only are the scandals numerous, it is very difficult to rank them. That would make a good TV game show: Rank the Clinton Scandals!

In my humble opinion, one of the scandals for contender in the top two or three, is one that barely gets mentioned anymore. I refer to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's actions during and after the "Fast and Furious" gun-walking scandal. I have written quite a bit about F&F and you'll find the posts in the archives.

I want to highlight one posting in particular. On June 22, 2012 (here), I noted that,
Under Attorney General Eric Holder, the Department of Justice declared war on the people of Mexico.
Using the ATF, the Justice Department carried out a covert operation that violated the laws of the United States, supplied thousands of weapons to the enemies of the government and people Mexico, and killed hundreds of Mexican citizens. The operation also produced the collateral damage of one or possibly two murdered US federal agents, and put at risk the lives of other US citizens on this side of the border. In other words, Obama and Holder have lied, and hundreds have died in a war against our southern neighbor.

Never mind Teapot Dome, Checkers, Chappaquiddick, Watergate, or Iran-Contra: "Fast and Furious" is arguably the greatest scandal in American political history. It most certainly is the greatest scandal never reported by the main media outlets. Obama's misadministration sought to launch an attack on the second amendment by "proving" that lax US gun laws led to Mexico's drug-fueled violence. It decided to "prove" that by providing the guns. It was the ultimate in cop weapon throw-down or evidence planting.

I went on to state that,
So, then, what did Hillary Clinton know and when did she know it? She herself went about saying that 60-90% of the weapons in the hands of Mexican drug gangs came from the US, which, of course, meant we needed stronger gun laws in the US. All of us worker bees in the State Department got "mea culpa" talking points to use that said the same thing.
So was Secretary Clinton in on the DOJ/ATF fraud or was she a victim of it? What is her position? If she was bamboozled by Holder, has she taken the matter up with the President? Does she have a position on the fact that our government was waging a covert war against Mexico? Shouldn't the Secretary of State have a position on this matter? Shouldn't she be demanding the AG's resignation or offering up her own in disgust?
Why no questions for the Secretary of State?
None of those questions has been answered or even asked. The issue has gained some renewed urgency in light of reports that,
A .50-caliber rifle found at Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman’s hideout in Mexico was funneled through the gun-smuggling investigation known as Fast and Furious, sources confirmed Tuesday to Fox News.
A .50-caliber is a massive rifle that can stop a car or, as it was intended, take down a helicopter.
We, therefore, have evidence, yet again, that Obama's deranged war against the Second Amendment led him and his bonkers Attorney General to send thousands of weapons, including .50-cal Barretts, to a mass murderer such as El Chapo. All of this was done as a "false flag" operation to blame law-abiding gun dealers for the guns in Mexican drug dealers' hands. It formed part of the progressive meme of "the drugs flow north, the guns flow south." Secretary Clinton, of course, acted as a major promoter of that false narrative.

You would think a Secretary of State would have an interest in a secret war against our neighbor, a war which killed hundreds of innocent Mexican citizens. When did she learn about it? Did she ask about it? Did she say anything to Obama or Holder about it? What did she say to the Mexican government? What has the Mexican government said to us about it? None of this is asked.

Giving the Clintons yet another pass . . .

  1. Dip, there's an even bigger scandal that's out in the open that no one is talking about, Obama's and HRC's collaboration with the Muslim Brotherhood. Talk about an organization that is not only an enemy of the US but an enemy of Western Civilization. From Obama's support of them in Egypt and the mid east in general to Clinton's aide Huma Abeden to their stacking the State Department and the military with MB members and sympathizers it's frightening. Who needs to hack Hillary's homebrew server when you're inside and on the circulation list. And they are the umbrella organization for Hamas, ISIS, and al Queda.

The MB in Egypt were trained and funded by the Nazis prior to WWII, willing collaborators during the war, and provided refuge to any number of SS and Gestapo officers afterwards. Their most important member was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem also known as The Furher of the Arab World. He was wanted as a war criminal by the US and Britain but managed to escape back to Egypt. Not long before he died he passed the baton to his last and greatest protege, Yasser Arafat.

  2. Rank the sandals? Well, here' a high-ranking sandal (h/t Manolo the Shoeblogger):

It is summer in the Hemisphere of Southerness! What better way to celebrate the quirky excitement of the Santiago de Chile, than with the chunky platform sandal with the embroidered flowery details from the Prada!

  4. Look, if they just playing kabuki theatre and not going to bother charging her, lets just stop pretending that law and order has any force any more. This beast should be dead, or in supermax solitary. Until EITHER of those happens, its just wasting oxygen and electrons

    1. It is like water torcher. But there are two tracks of the FBI investigation...the server and its contents and then the Clinton Foundation money laundering and influence buying and selling while she was SoS. Let's get it all and then let the FBI Director makes his presentation.

  6. sadly, I don't think it matters... not all women, but many many women, will be swayed by the chromosomes. If Hillary gets the nod, her advantage among women will be *very* hard to challenge.
I don't think the standard GOP would have much of a chance.
If Hurricane Clinton strikes the democratic primary, the GOP would only have a longshot (very very long) in an outsider like Trump. Rubio, Cruz, Jeb, all of these guys would run a great campaign and fail miserably to the overwhelming gender vote.
2008 and 2012 proved that "identity politics" works. Hillary will be the benefactor of this in an extremely lopsided way. Only someone who can toss traditional election/campaign methods to the wind has a chance, and it would have to be something traditionally incalculable.
I'm only identifying Trump here because he's managed to manipulate the media like nobody I've ever seen. Even Obama received attention from the media only because he echoed their opinions. Trump seems to be able to bait the press in ways that just don't matter in reality, yet effectively make him the master of the election race.

If bernie wins, so be it, he's an extremist in a direction unfavored by most in the US, any GOP candidate can take him. If Clinton wins, there's really no other chance at avoiding a shift of scotus towards the left (assuming Trump doesn't appoint a bunch of lefties himself.. who knows with that guy!).

Just my opinion... all these scandals (and there are so many, it's almost just become 'noise', as you mention) will just melt beneath the "identity politics" advantage Hillary will enjoy.

    1. Hi, 14. Long time.

So you're not altogether down with the 19th Amendment, I see. People should not vote who think with their vaginas. Perhaps. But there are a lot of penis people who seem to be thinking distal of the foramen magnum this cycle, too.

Re: Trump media manipulation. I am not sure we agree who is the manipulator and who the manipulee.

    2. Brain glitch. Posterior, not distal.

    3. I have no problem with suffrage. I have no problem with a large gender imbalance voting for Hillary. That's simply reality and reasonable considering we've had nearly 50 presidents with none being female. I'm merely pointing out what I think is a strategic decision that needs to be made by the GOP. If Hillary gets the nod, the GOP candidate will fail unless they do something *very* weird. Cruz and Rubio are almost certainly not going to do that.... Trump isn't likely to either.

    4. If Hillary gets the large part of the female vote merely because she is female, then that is proof there is a problem with suffrage.

  7. Funny how the State Department's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, who have the mandate on all export of firearms from the US were completely blind to Fast and Furious. US guns showing up in a foreign country with no record of an export license from DDTC and they don't even blink? Or if informed of the operation, they don't inform the Secretary of State?

Of course, a lot of the cartel guns were exported with a DDTC license by the US government to the Mexican government. Maybe it was all so confusing.

  8. Considering what would've happened to either me or our esteemed host had we been as cavalier about classified material as HRC was, I believe it is very ominous that our former SecState hasn't been indicted by now. The MSM has completely abdicated its responsibilities in the interests of partisan allegiance; while those charged with upholding the law have done nothing. This stinks of a conspiracy.

  9. It is even worse than what you post. The "laws" they violated in F&F (and the REST of the BATFE gun-running to organizations outside of this country) were International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR). ITAR belongs to State. Do you REALLY think that Holder worked behind Hillary's back and violated that WITHOUT her knowledge? ESPECIALLY since we know that State employees in Mexico were specifically instructed to not discuss F&F with their Mexican counterparts? And do you REALLY think that Holder and Hillary did this behind the back of the Muslim in Chief? This is one of the many reasons that Clinton cannot be indicted. She has full detailed knowledge of ALL the treason by Obama and his Administration during her time in office. Do you REALLY think she will "take one for the team" and "go quietly into the night"? Instead of doing a full public dump as soon as the ink dries on the indictment?

By the way, F&F was only ONE of the many similar operations run by BATFE across the country. They have ?25? field divisions. F&F was run by their Phoenix branch. BATFE Agent Hope McAllister is on an audio recording (made secretly by one of the FFLs she ordered to sell to straw buyers) admitting that there were THREE weapons found at the scene of BP Agent Brian Terry's murder. While two of them did come from his store, neither fired the bullet that murdered Agent Terry. The third weapon found at the scene pointed back at an FBI "employee", so it disappeared. That third gun was sold in Dallas. Now I'm not sure how familiar you are with US geography, but Dallas is not in the area of responsibility for BATFE's Phoenix Field Division. It is, however, on the front porch of their Dallas Field Division. But then I'm sure Dallas would have no problem with Phoenix running an operation there. Or not.

And my "local" BATFE office is in Tampa. Their version was Operation Castaway, running weapons to Communist terrorists supporting former president Zelaya in Honduras. Congressman Gus Bilirakis of Florida's 12th Congressional District asked for an accounting of that operation in July 2011. He STILL has not gotten that information. But BATFE Tampa sure was busy shredding documents and deleting files as soon as they heard of his request.

Of course, not all the BATFE Field Divisions were violating ITAR. Their midwest and northwest organizations were instead running weapons to gangs in the hives.
