Appalling Days

Haven't been writing as the Diplowife has returned from Spain. As I feared, my housekeeping did not meet her standards; your humble Diplomad, therefore, has been busy vacuuming, cleaning mirrors, wiping dust, mopping floors, and throwing out garbage. I don't know how she does it. She walks into a perfectly clean room and immediately spots the two beer cans on the foosball table, the old sneaker on the ottoman, and the half-eaten submarine on the sofa. How does she do it? Anyhow, the two dogs did not escape her wrath either, and have been sentenced to bath row, with execution scheduled for tomorrow. She shows no appreciation for how I recharged the battery in the '66 Olds, had the oil changed in the Expedition and the 2015 Mustang, fixed a tail-light problem in HER Jeep, started the paperwork for the ten-day waiting period on a new S&W .44 Mag, cleaned my guns, ordered hundreds of rounds of ammo from Cheaper-than-Dirt, or even how I had a gun safe installed in my walk-in closet. All that passes unawares in Diplowife world!

All of the aforementioned drama has kept me from watching, listening or reading too much election coverage. That's fine. I, frankly, am sick of it all; it's all been said. There's nothing more to say. I have never seen such a concentrated and coordinated effort by the media, working as the armed wing of the DNC, to destroy politically and personally a candidate. The polls? Who knows? They're all over the place, and many of them are extensions of that effort to destroy Trump. So, who knows where the voters actually stand? Are there enough ignorant, anti-American, progressive sheep along with some electoral corruption out there to put the Hillary criminal in the White House? Perhaps so. I give up reading the political scene.

The stuff coming out almost daily from Wikileaks re Clinton should be enough to derail any campaign and launch a thousand criminal investigations. Nothing. The MSM is trying to ignore the incredible evidence of illegality and immorality by the Clintons and to fill the air with 30-year-old allegations of sexual advances by Trump. Contrary to some, I do not believe allegations of sexual misconduct should be automatically believed any more than allegations of any other misconduct unless backed up by evidence: Duke Lacrosse? UVA? Ring a bell? I have a hard time taking too seriously some of the women who have come forward four weeks before the election with tales of alleged "inappropriate" conduct by Trump decades ago. I must call BS. At the same time, of course, there is a near total blackout on reporting of actual misconduct, up to and including rape by Bill Clinton and the enabling actions by Hillary.

The whole thing stinks and I fear for our Republic as I never have before.

  1. If it's any consolation. I see very few Hillary campaign signs or bumper stickers even in the bluest neighborhoods of Portland. It's still mostly Bernie support here. The ones I talk to are either boycotting her or very reluctantly voting for her, and only because they hate Trump more. The ones that I know are enthusiastic about Hillary will never sway, even if Wikileaks drops video of her putting a pistol to Vince Foster's head. They will just say he deserved it.Fortunately that kind of support seems limited, and is nothing like what President Obama had going around here.

  3. Which sexual predator do we want in the White House - Donald Trump or Bill Clinton?

The difference is that if Donald Trump is in the White House, I feel confident he would not commit any additional sexual assaults during his time there. I do not have that confidence regarding Bill Clinton (in fact, I would bet money on the opposite outcome).

  7. If the evil invalid wins, followed by a great financial collapse in 2017, how will the MSM manage to blame that on Trump? "It's all Trump's fault for not winning" is a bit implausible. I suppose they'll just blame it on W. Or the Republicans in Congress. Or awful Mr Putin: quick, quick, bomb him.

  8. One of the most surprising media failures, in my view, has been the tale of The Assault in First Class.

Why did the "assaultee" not touch the flight attendant call button, or rise and request a seat change, as opposed to wrestling with a grasping seatmate? First Class flight attendants are among the most attentive, obsequious living beings on the planet.

This morning I PROUDLY cast my vote for Donald J. Trump! He's the first candidate since Ronald Reagan that I support 100% without reservation, and regardless of what "dirt" the lying media throw.

I sincerely hope that among my friends, relations and acquaintances there are NONE who would be so vile as to vote for Clinton. If there are, I hope never to hear of it; I'd rather think well of them than consider them unpatriotic idiots!

  16. I must say, the Democrats have done an excellent job when it comes to making it possible for one of the most loathsome women in the country to become president.

The Democrats have a serious battle plan. By defaming Trump, they're hoping to suppress voter turnout to the point Hillary can be elected with very few manufactured votes.

    Will it work? Who knows.

By the way, I'm perfectly content to see the usual GOP weasels turn on the duly elected nominee. I'd be more worried about Trump if Ryan and company embraced Trump unreservedly.

  17. DipII: SO glad to see you acquiring an S&W .44 Mag. I presume it's a Model 629, one of which I sold when I came back from Africa. As is usually the case in such moments, I regret having sold it -- a pistol that says unequivocally "STEP BACK". Do you reload? Like the .357 mag, the .44 mag is an extremely easy cartridge to reload, and doing so gives you amazing flexibility, from an accurate semi wadcutter target round that is very pleasant to shoot, to a full bore magnum that will stop most charging animals and humans in their tracks. I almost had the opportunity to find that out when hunting in the CAR one day. My Professional Hunter was in the lead as we were walking quietly through the bush. He stopped so abruptly I almost walked into him. Without looking back at me he motioned me to move quietly to his side. A full-grown lioness was asleep only 25 feet in front of us on the path. I was bow-hunting for plains game, did not want to shoot a lion, and did not want that particular one in any case. She sensed our presence and began to wake, took one look back at us over her shoulder, then jumped up and took off in the other direction. It was only after putting the S&W back in my holster than I began to shake in my boots -- that was closer than I had ever wanted to be to a lioness.

  20. Learned Hand, the famous NY justice of roughly a century ago, once said that if liberty dies in the heart of a people, the best constitutions cannot save it. Perhaps we've reached the point where liberty is so little valued by most of the voters that they'll sell it for a promised economic security that will never materialize.

It may also be the unhappy fact that our people have become so morally bankrupt that Shrill's criminality, corruption, and utterly loathsome idea that a child can be aborted at 8.75 months mean little.

Worst of all, I'm of the mind that Shrill will prove to be a Nixon in pantsuits minus the international politics savvy and plus the MSM's willingness to let her get away with damaging the country's Constitutional machinery.

  25. This reminds me of Herman Cain's problem with accusations by women in 2012. The women went away when he got our of the campaign.
My take on this race for what it is worth:
Mrs. Clinton has stated that that Mr. Trump is “unfit for the presidency”. One could believe that based on her violations of national security, Mrs. Clinton is herself unfit for the Presidency.
The experienced individuals that Mr. Trump has surrounded himself with, like Mr. Rudy Giuliani, General Flynn and Mr. Newt Gingrich, would not suffer a fool as President. If needed, our Constitution provides for the cabinet and Vice President to replace the President with the Vice President with the concurrence of Congress under the 25th Amendment, Section 4.
Additionally, as Mr. Rand Simbery wrote on the Ricochet Blog, “. . . a President Trump will be on probation with both parties from the moment he takes the oath of office. He is not a black man, or a woman of any color, so the Republicans won’t have to worry about going after one of the victim classes . . . . He will operate within the Constitution, or there will be bipartisan desire to stop him, and few on either side of the aisle will have any qualms in doing so.”
Mrs. Clinton has had no divisions in her party over her unsecured E-mail server and national security scandal; even Mr. Sanders is still supporting her. So why should anyone believe that the Democratic Party would help rein in Mrs. Clinton.
Mrs. Clinton, like when Secretary of State, will fill her cabinet with party first yes people so expect no opposition to her actions.

  26. As to the coming election and the future, I again refer to Churchill:
"It is not given to human beings, happily for them, for otherwise life would be intolerable, to foresee or to predict to any large extent the unfolding course of events. In one phase men seem to have been right, in another they seem to have been wrong. Then again, a few years later, when the perspective of time has lengthened, all stands in a different setting. There is a new proportion. There is another scale of values. History with its flickering lamp stumbles along the trail of the past, trying to reconstruct its scenes, to revive its echoes, and kindle with pale gleams the passion of former days. What is the worth of all this? The only guide to a man is his conscience; the only shield to his memory is the rectitude and sincerity of his actions. It is very imprudent to walk through life without this shield, because we are so often mocked by the failure of our hopes and the upsetting of our calculations; but with this shield, however the fates may play, we march always in the ranks of honour."

  27. Oh memories, sweet memories a sarcastic refrain, for this:

As it is, now older, much wiser, and not giving a damn about consequences of truth, remembering some incidents of youth, of being blamed with full innocence, I just don't believe nearly all women, any more, nor many men. Yes, more than many know, have been raped, (women, at least), and some women have interpretation and reality problem, but worse, far too many utterly lack integrity, ethics, truth, and honor, nor character. Way too many.

But that's my learned knowledge. Yes, I did a study on it, in youth, and read more. Worse, saw a dumb male competitor, off the wall make a provably untrue accusation of me about of all things, my logged flight time, which I had 100% proof, of rounding it down, conservatively, let alone not faking even one minute. And I saw too many young women lie, then also when they grow up.

Not everyone lies, but a large portion are too skilled, and I met one who was the actual definition of a 'pathologic skilled liar'. There's plenty more where she came from. I went to the cleaners on that one, just skilled deception regarding money, and though with a thorough clean record, I have scars of the mind. I find outstanding reason for thorough ironclad prenupts, always. Covering false memory, interpretations, and deceits and lies, at the bottom, and upward from there.

Integrity, character, ethics, honor, something I grew up with as a youth, I find has disappeared, except in myth, since the evils of the '60s. Certainly the likes of the Alinskyites have promoted this all, displayed e.g. by Jonathan Gruber, Ben Rhodes, the whole democratic party, and the hussein regime, and to a giant degree with the podesta, hrc, willie triad of devils. So many things I had done under honor, opportunities of decades ago, exist only fondly, warmly, in my memory. A book alone I could write on honor, of the past....

Someday, maybe I'll tell you how I really actually feel!
I'll even tell you about Cherry Creek school district "white Privilege" survey, just mentioned on Fox, your new 'liberal news network'.......

I think it all sums up with these, 'appallingly' that they are being illustrated, so sharply in reality:

“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. - Matthew 10:16

    All the miseries and evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible. -Noah Webster -The virtues of men are of more consequence to society than their abilities;

Democrats spectacularly lead in illustrating the latter, as they are clearly seen on video, as hating "G-d"

Of course, much more to the good, I can't reveal, in public.
