Progsanity

Let me just assure one and all  one that the move out of the formerly magnificent state of California continues apace. No turning back.  Purchased airline tickets, have a date for two of the cars to ship, and movers on the hook. We are heading east and down!

There is so much weirdness going on it's hard to pick starting and ending points. I see that some whacky Congresswoman from Florida, who dresses up like Howdy-Doody for some reason, has gotten all patriotic and is blasting President Trump for being insensitive in his call to the widow of a slain SF soldier, one who died on an operation in Niger. In the course of his condolence call, he apparently used a phrase something like, "He knew what he signed up for." This phrase has been jumped upon by the Honorable Ms Howdy Doody and the prog media as some sort of insult or insensitivity. It, of course, is a fairly standard phrase when discussing the deaths of heroes, to wit, people who knew the danger but went ahead and did their duty, regardless. The whole thing is obscene., and shows that nothing is off limits for the Progs. I can't stand when Progs play patriot. The fake just stinks way too much.

Speaking of fake Prog patriotic outrage, I am not hearing much of this Russia craze as the story slowly oozes out about the Clintons' own very strong Russia connection, i.e., the worst kept secret in the world. The Russians, it seems, poured some $146 million into the Clinton Foundation, and paid Bill some $500,000 in speaker fees, precisely at the time that a Russian owned subsidiary was negotiating a massive uranium deal and seeking SecState approval for it--uh, guess who was SecState . . . So the Russians had the anti-fracking, anti-military Clintons on their payroll but were working to get pro-fracking, pro-military Trump elected? Hmmmm . . . .

New word, progsanity: willful political, historical, and social amnesia commonly found among progressives when convenient to advance a radical agenda; the rewriting of history, including recent developments and the refutation of logic and its substitution by loud screaming, sneering, and violence, all justified by "the cause," to wit, the destruction of Western values, norms, and civilization.

  1. I wonder if the Russians wanted to get Trump elected just because they couldn't stand dealing with Hillary ...

  2. Andy McCarthy is on the case. I hope his column gets wide dissemination.

  3. It's the Clintons as treasonous racketeers that would have had me voting for that oaf Trump had I been American. Of the two candidates, better to vote for the absurd one than the appalling one. Better to be a deplorable than a despicable.

  4. “In the end, more than freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all – security, comfort, and freedom. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free and was never free again.”

  6. Dear D'Mad,

Howdy Doody had a solid head on his shoulders, unlike that congresswoman from Florida that Gen. Kelly likened to an empty barrel.

I don't think of the Clintons as treasonous, though. They do set the bar at an unachievable level on corruption, and it will be very difficult for anyone to surpass them. I think that the Uranium One deal is more an indictment of Obama, Holder, Mueller and Treasury Secretary Geisner. It's not like their hands are clean here.

By the way, can Mueller indict himself?

  8. DiploMad, take some comfort in that progressivism is beginning to fail here in Europe. Yesterday, the Czechs voted for an anti-immigration/Islam/EU leader when Andrej Babis won. They call him "Trump of Czech ". And a couple of weeks ago Sebastian Kurz, with a similar agenda, won in Austria. And in Germany, the AfD ( Alternative für Deutschland ) entered the Reichstag. We also have independence-parties for small regions here and there in Europe. The way the Spanish government handles the Catalonia issue makes me worried of big social unrest. And we have Brexit. So the European progs are beginning to sweat and tremble. I am very fascinated by the early decades of the 1900. Just finished a Stefan Zweig book about this era. There are some similarities with our times.

    1. Svenska tjej- how’s Jimmy doing?

    2. Ganderson, Jimmy ( leader of the young Swedish "rightist"-party ) is doing fine. That is why some other parties now are slowly borrowing from his partys agenda, pretending they always had these ideas on border control, migration etc, hoping no one will accuse them of hypocrisy . Election next year.

  9. Apologies, I'm a little late to the party, here--I was exiled to NC for a few years, and found it (at least, the mountainous western third) to be quite beautiful, if far too far from home. And the taxes, while far superior than what you're used to, were still a little insane (technically, there was even a pet tax on the books... a pet tax!)

I don't know which neck of the woods (coast? mountains?) you have chosen to settle, but I highly recommend a pilgrimage to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It might be a tad late in the season right now (it varies from year to year), but spring is almost as beautiful, with its unique shade of fresh greenery. The Cone Manor may lack Biltmore's opulence, but it has a far better view.

While I cannot in good conscience support Tarheels' use of vinegar on good meat (at least, it's better than tolerable on pulled pork), or their ridiculous use of coleslaw as a burger topping (at the same time as chili!), if you seek to find your wife some good BBQ, you might try Lancaster's in Mooresville, just north of Charlotte.

  10. "[H]ave a date for two of the cars to ship ..."

Eh ... Diploma Sir? Would either of those two cars been ones you've featured on this blog? If so have I got a bargain for you!

I'll transport 'em FREE - and buy the fuel!

Even do the security as the Bureau long-ago signed off on my having a CHCL/CCW in any state I chose to reside in (though I'd prefer you - or your agent - drive 'em to whatever border state of CA is closest. And I'd prefer to avoid Illinois).

And I've not had a moving violation affect my insurance rates going on some twenty years.

    A bargain I'd think Dip.
