Trump Deals with the Prog Border Madness

Couple of days ago, I wrote a little piece which dealt with the progressives' latest calculated dramatic OUTRAGE! meltdown over children at the border being separated from "their" parents.

It's nonsense, of course, and the OUTRAGE! by people who suddenly LOVE CHILDREN and FAMILIES (Planned Parenthood, please stay in the shadows for a bit) is really about collapsing what's left of our immigration system, importing hundreds-of-thousands of new voters and enrollees for government-funded programs, including public schools and hospitals. In essence, the progs declare our borders open to any and all, thereby, irrevocably changing the nature of our culture and social structure--see what's happening in the UK, the Netherlands, and California for a glimpse of our potential national future.

In addition, of course, this burst of OUTRAGE! was timed to bury the genuinely outrageous scandal being revealed about how Obama's misadministration put the FBI and other intelligence services to work for the political benefit of the DNC and Hillary Clinton.

The policy of separating children from adults illegally entering the country has been a long-standing one and for good reason, e.g., pedophiles, child sex trafficking, child workers, etc. You know the reasons. It was done under Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump. The press and Hollywood only get excited by these things when the DNC decides it's time to get excited about them. As soon as that decision has been made, well, we all know that, "Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia," and "Stalin always fought Hitler." The previous statements by Feinstein, the two Clintons, Schumer, etc., condemning illegal immigration and telling us that just because an alien has a child here doesn't mean he or she gets in, are all now inoperative, consigned to the dustbin, never existed . . .  because, because  . . .  you're a racist if you bring that up!

Congress has proven itself unable and unwilling to deal with the mess created by it and progressive court rulings. President Trump has stepped in to kinda, sorta fix the problem with an executive order of his own--one that won't work, I am sorry to say.

Do not rely on the press reports or the spin doctors of either side.  Please read it; here it is in its entirety,
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), 8 U.S.C. 1101 et seq., it is hereby ordered as follows:
Section 1. Policy. It is the policy of this Administration to rigorously enforce our immigration laws. Under our laws, the only legal way for an alien to enter this country is at a designated port of entry at an appropriate time. When an alien enters or attempts to enter the country anywhere else, that alien has committed at least the crime of improper entry and is subject to a fine or imprisonment under section 1325(a) of title 8, United States Code. This Administration will initiate proceedings to enforce this and other criminal provisions of the INA until and unless Congress directs otherwise. It is also the policy of this Administration to maintain family unity, including by detaining alien families together where appropriate and consistent with law and available resources. It is unfortunate that Congress’s failure to act and court orders have put the Administration in the position of separating alien families to effectively enforce the law.
Sec. 2. Definitions. For purposes of this order, the following definitions apply:
  (a) “Alien family” means
   (i) any person not a citizen or national of the United States who has not been admitted into, or is not authorized to enter or remain in, the United States, who entered this country with an alien child or alien children at or between designated ports of entry and who was detained; and
(ii) that person’s alien child or alien children.
  (b) “Alien child” means any person not a citizen or national of the United States who
   (i) has not been admitted into, or is not authorized to enter or remain in, the United States;
(ii) is under the age of 18; and
(iii) has a legal parent-child relationship to an alien who entered the United States with the alien child at or between designated ports of entry and who was detained.
Sec. 3. Temporary Detention Policy for Families Entering this Country Illegally.
   (a) The Secretary of Homeland Security (Secretary), shall, to the extent permitted by law and subject to the availability of appropriations, maintain custody of alien families during the pendency of any criminal improper entry or immigration proceedings involving their members.
   (b) The Secretary shall not, however, detain an alien family together when there is a concern that detention of an alien child with the child’s alien parent would pose a risk to the child’s welfare.
   (c) The Secretary of Defense shall take all legally available measures to provide to the Secretary, upon request, any existing facilities available for the housing and care of alien families, and shall construct such facilities if necessary and consistent with law. The Secretary, to the extent permitted by law, shall be responsible for reimbursement for the use of these facilities.
   (d) Heads of executive departments and agencies shall, to the extent consistent with law, make available to the Secretary, for the housing and care of alien families pending court proceedings for improper entry, any facilities that are appropriate for such purposes. The Secretary, to the extent permitted by law, shall be responsible for reimbursement for the use of these facilities.
   (e) The Attorney General shall promptly file a request with the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California to modify the Settlement Agreement in Flores v. Sessions, CV 85-4544 (“Flores settlement”), in a manner that would permit the Secretary, under present resource constraints, to detain alien families together throughout the pendency of criminal proceedings for improper entry or any removal or other immigration proceedings
Sec. 4. Prioritization of Immigration Proceedings Involving Alien Families. The Attorney General shall, to the extent practicable, prioritize the adjudication of cases involving detained families.
Sec. 5. General Provisions.
  (a) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:
   (i) the authority granted by law to an executive department or agency, or the head thereof; or
(ii) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.
  (b) This order shall be implemented in a manner consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.
  (c) This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

DONALD J. TRUMP
THE WHITE HOUSE,
June 20, 2018

This EO has some clever wording which the progs will never accept, to wit, "A legal parent-child relation." How's that going to be proven? That's the last thing the traffickers and their prog enablers want. They can't, in the vast majority of cases, prove that relationship short of expensive and time consuming DNA tests. That ain't going to happen. This is a child trafficking scheme in which the kids are the pawns of criminals, progressive activists in the US, and complicit Mexican and Central American officials. In effect, nothing changes after this order because the progs, the traffickers, the Mexican and Central American officials will make sure it is impossible to prove any such relationship and thereby keep the current crisis going as kids are "separated from their parents."

Time to build the wall, and build it now. That will stop much of this sort of criminal trafficking and fake crisis manufacturing.

  1. Media is not going to be able to figure out what this EO means, Going back and reading the Flores Case and Settlement is too much work and beyond most of their comprehension in any event.

Kristjen Neilsen, DHS Secretary, was driven out of a restaurant last night by a mob of disruptive protestors, including one DoJ employee who has been identified and brags on social media about doing it. I would love to have Trump fire her. Isn't there some kind of implied morals clause in working for gov't? Of course she would sue for wrongful termination, claiming her first amendment rights were violated. I think invading a restaurant and loudly disrupting patrons in a large mob is not protected first amendment speech. However, as I understand civil service rules I think she would probably win on question of whether she was wrongfully fired as she wasn't arrested. But a private employer could fire her for involvement in a disruptive mob -especially a mob disrupting one of her own executives. The gov't should be able to also, and I think Trump should do so to start his conversation about changing civil service rules (and to drive libs further crazier).

Story about separation of families is now saturation coverage. This is a story which could have been rolled out next week, next month or at any time. Is it coming now to distract from IG report? Do Dems consider IG report bad? I would think they like the Executive Summary and would push that on the public.

One aside: Paul Manafort is in solitary confinement in jail before any conviction, in a highly questionable political prosecution - and there's no one he can appeal to. Are we in a police state or Kafka novel?

    1. Speaking of kafka novels, I just remembered that there is no one at DoJ that Trump can talk to about firing the protestor chick.

    3. Open a DOJ office on Diego Garcia, bump her up one GS grade, and give her a Permanent Change of Station there as director of the office. Then leave her there until she retires.

  2. "It was done under Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump."

    Indeed.

And I do have to wonder how the Progs'd take it if Trump were to pull out a page from Clinton's playbook by sending the refugees to Gitmo?

    1. If Trump loaded half a dozen military transports full of wetbacks, adults, and children and flew each plane into a different remote location and dumped them off, with instructions to "find your way home", I think that would be the end of this invasion. Either that or soros would have to pay the invaders double or triple of what he's paying now.

  3. And I thought to add (speaking as an MDs son) because of something Mr. Amselem you've included:

"They can't, in the vast majority of cases, prove that relationship short of expensive and time consuming DNA tests."

Actually it doesn't require DNA at all, as I informed my Congressional delegation just two days ago. Parentage can be quite perfectly established with a simple, relatively cheap blood-test. As conveniently described by "the official mouthpiece" of the Progs:

  8. Guys, it's over. This political fight was lost decades ago. Accept the fact that your kids are screwed; hell, unless you have been a dominating influence in their lives, they've likely been indoctrinated or at least their will has been sapped. One of my three (I fulfilled my demographic duty) is rock-solid; the other two seem so but I have my doubts). Those of us who give a damn are increasingly few and far between. They are coming for everything you and your forebears have worked for and everything you believe in. You will be confronted with some awful choices to survive, submit or not, with all the attendant consequences, unless you don't outlive the demographic tsunami looming toward us. The Prog Left became impatient after the Anointed One was elected in 2008, explaining the absolute meltdown since 2016. It is also why they have increasingly abandoned birth rates for flood gates over the last five decades (thanks, Teddy, I hope Hell is comfy) and now have the pedal to the metal. The assumption that all of these illegal aliens, now refugees, are somehow legitimate voters seems to go unchallenged. Once they vote to tax away all of our income, then they will tax away our assets, unless, of course, you are in the Elite subset of the correct Political class. Kafka novel, indeed. It will all be perfectly legal, unless they again become impatient with the process. Then, the fun REALLY starts. Some say to expatriate. To where?
When will it all go down? Who knows? The pace seems to be accelerating. I, for one, at 57 a highly-trained medical professional, am reading good books, traveling while it's possible, drinking good wine, and enjoying the, eh, company of my beautiful bride, acquiring the tools and skills needed to at least make a respectable fight of it and take as many of the bastards with me as I can.
It's all been foretold in The Book, you see....

    1. America deserves its leaders.
I think you hit the nail on the head, be close to your children. If they accept the welfare state as their lord and savior, you'll know you have lost. If they fight and get back up after being knocked down, you'll have won. 'Basic' income, socialized medicine, these are all the hallmarks of a temptation to place faith in idols.
I don't think mine will. They have a lot of work to do in this world, and we've liberated them from the great progressivist stanchions, public education. There will be many consequences for America.
Ignoring the problem of political proselytization in public schools doesn't come without a price. (But hey, it's just weird high school and college teachers and their bad ideas, right? What kind of threat can that be! Oh whups...)

  10. Much as I believe immigration law should be enforced, I still think the wall is a bad idea. I walked on the original "Keep-em-out" wall in China, and know it didn't work that well, as the Huns, Tuoba Wei, Khitan, Jurchen, Mongols, Tanguts, Uighurs (original ones; not the misnamed Kashgarlik and Turpanlik so-called today), Manchu, and Japanese can tell you.

But I'm all for some more resources put into Border patrol, and ICE in general.

    1. I think the attraction is partly/mainly to just say that borders matter.
      Right now, they don't.
Not demarcating, not enforcing, not even pretending that borders matter suggests that Mexico and the US are no different.

The other factor is the progressive misinterpretation of being anti-illegal-immigrant as being xenophobic, racist, or whatever. It's not. It's merely a question of whether we want to be a nation of hungry-dog-pack queue jumpers who bully their way to the front of long lines.

  12. OK, don't separate them from those who claim to be their parents. As soon as they are arrested take them to a port of entry and shove them back into Mexico, together. Anyone crossing illegally, throw them back.

Just how are these people getting though Mexico anyway, which is notoriously harsh with illegal border crossers?
