Quick, read it before the rights to its publication get bought by The Onion. Oh, and be sure also to read the now-deleted FAQ sheet put out by today's darling of the lunatic left, NY Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (here)--btw, it was apparently deleted after it provoked overwhelming derision.
What do you think? I see it as something straight out of a junior high class president campaign, "And, if elected, I will ensure that all the vending machines dispense free Mars bars! I also will ensure that every student--regardless of how ugly, unwashed, or generally unpleasant--will have a date to the prom!" Stop me if you think I am being unfair to junior high class presidents all across the nation.
I apologize to the Luddites whom I have offended by associating them with AOC's delusional screed, one being repeated mindlessly by all of the, thus far, declared Democrat candidates for
The Luddites, after all, only were trying to smash the emerging industrial system which was destroying their jobs and traditional way of life. If not justifiable, that's, at least, understandable. The GND, however, stands the Luddites on their heads. AOC and her clones seek to destroy the system that provides an unprecedented level of health, wealth, and employment to billions of people around the globe.
The AOCs want us to work, travel, and live only in groups, controlled by and dictated to by the new overlords who know so much better than we do how we should exist on this planet.
We must give up the fight of thousands of years, and surrender to Gaia's dictates--as interpreted, of course, by the AOCs, the new Oracles of Delfi, the new fascists, the new Big Brothers of 1984, the new Stalinists . . .
Crazy has become a way of life for the Democrats.
Stop laughing and start crying . . . this is the new politics in the West.
I think junior high school presidents around the country are vomiting at your comparison.

I had to do a double take when I first saw AOC's website logo. When I first saw it, I thought "baby bottle nipple," not "Capitol dome."
ReplyDeleteI am mystified.
ReplyDeleteDown here in Oz we have a select band of green idiots in our Parliament and I guess that is to be expected in a democracy. What mystifies me is how does a complete "numpty" like AOC get elected.
She makes ours look like Rhodes Scholars which of course they aren't.
Numpty! What a great word. Anything is possible in America...unfortunately some times.
Delete" What mystifies me is how does a complete "numpty" like AOC get elected."
DeleteSimple. Just import a bunch of numpty voters.
I move that the USA import the term "numpty" without tariff restrictions...
DeleteKepha in the spirit of an alliance that is now over a century old feel free to use the expression tariff free.
DeleteIn honor of that alliance, I just bought a chess set made in Australia. It's beautiful.
DeletePretty soon someone will give the GND its own logo...say a giant water melon on a white background.
ReplyDeleteAOC = Any Old Cobblers.
ReplyDeleteIf that rubbish doesn't do the trick for her, more will be along in a moment.
The promise we were given in junior high was free ice-cream at lunch. They were elected. The ice-cream was not free thereafter.
ReplyDeleteAOC’s manifesto seems bat s**t crazy (BSC) but BSC people should be taken seriously, like Maduro, who are capable of doing catastrophic harm to a nation. Offers of free stuff act as bait for gullible people. I would say it would behoove us to look inward as a nation to see what factors got us to this.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I Just finished looking into the collective BSC a$$hole! What I found is astounding, and will change the world overnight! My Strategy Committee on the future of Democrat dirtbags, hereby requires all voters to send in 90% of your annual salary and your other stuff, so as to fill their aching void within, resulting from their total lack of personal morality, National and neighborly respect, as well as an overabundance of FREE taxpayer funded sh!t! I must warn you tho, its gonna take a BIG enema to get er done, but if anybody can do it, the dark BO party can finger it out overnight! Here's l@^@kin atcha Turds! Party Hardy...

Perhaps all spawned by hedge funds and “carried interest” tax breaks? One promise Trump hasn’t kept ... and ivory tower pixie dust. (AOC graduated cum laude in economics from BU.)
ReplyDeleteYeah GW, but that pixie dust nowadays,
Deletesmells more bull squat...
She even won a 'Science Fair', I've been told.
Grade inflation in the 'my lil pony' era has prepared nimble dolts to masquerade as scholars. I wouldn't consider a "cum laude" academic performance as predictive of high intelligence, unless the final GPA earns the candidate "summa cum laude" honors, and of course I get to proofread and critique the student's senior thesis.

A large swathe of multiple generations are now best described as 'The Malcontent Majority'.
DeleteThey care mostly about their social status as derived from virtue signaling.
It's Leninism for the 21st century and it likely will end just as disastrously. But that all doesn't matter to the revolutionary... the point is it's about *them* and *their* having effect on the world, positive or negative. Malcontents.

Just read that AOC has (had) a credit rating of 430 and has been twice evicted from apartments by the sheriff ..
DeleteIt all makes sense if you view the Dems as shakedown artists: "See what AOC has on the table? Pay up and we will stop her."
ReplyDeleteMy favorite nickname for AOC is "Occasional Cortex". Whoever came up with that one.....brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThanks from Arkansas for bringing it to our attention!
DeleteEr, to your knowledge it's not been trademarked?
How 'bout "Occluded Cortex"?
DeleteSo, I consider myself a reasonable intelligent person. While I am not a climate expert, I can read, and interpret scientific papers, or at least get the gist out of the executive summary. I started reading in depth about “global warming” as it was called back in the early 2000’s and was not really convinced by what I was reading. The biggest problem for me was replication of the results in the papers. While “peer reviewed”, it never seemed like the reviews included replicating the findings of the paper. That was my first whiff that something is not quite right with this science. I should see a result replication and a more importantly a stated, “null hypothesis” for the proposed theory.
ReplyDeleteThen came “Climategate” while the emails themselves demonstrated the culture of the climate science community, turns out they are petty, vindictive, relish their positions, influence and large travel budgets. There were some bombshells in those emails, mainly raising the question as to why they were so secretive of the processes they used to draw their conclusions. Buried in all the archives, was a file called “Harry_Readme.txt” this file lays bare the sham for what it is. This file is nearly 250 pages long of comments and notes written down by the programmer who produced what is known as “HADCRUT” the global temperature dataset. In reading this file, I could see through his commentary how full of errors, and how manipulated the results were in order to produce the expected results. This programmer had no vested interest in promoting “Global warming”. He didn’t get to travel to the world’s playgrounds for conferences or participate in the back-pat-a-thons. His comments were just the facts of what kind of crappy records he was dealing with, and how he torqued that garbage data to produce the results he was told to produce. Read it yourself: http://wermenh.com/climate/HARRY_READ_ME.txt
It was hard to find a copy of this file online, as the press completely ignored it, and it has been pretty thoroughly buried. Because, if you understand a lick of Fortran or programming you will clearly understand what kind of fraud is being foisted upon us based upon that data produced by the HADCRUT.
Now, I wondered, hey, the NOAA produces its own version of the global temp records. The GISS is the U.S. set. But, the folks in charge of that dataset are participants writ large in the climate gate emails and have altered the GISS over time to make the past cooler, and the present warmer. This was illustrated by Dr Don Easterbrook a climate expert, and professor emeritus. (You have to be emeritus in order to survive going off script in the climate community). Easterbrook had the temerity to copy the GISS dataset to his personal archives in the past and can show how the data has been manipulated over time. Always making the past cooler and the present warmer. This is why we always, every year see “20XX hottest year on record”. Doctor Easterbrook states, no the 1930’s were the hottest years on record. This is backed up by other records of the time, like remember the central plains “Dust Bowl” and the huge migration of folks out of that area during this time, sparking John Steinbeck to write “The Grapes of Wrath”. Where are the climate disasters that come even close to what occurred in the mid 1930’s?
I then saw that the whole climate change fallacy got a lot of support from the left, as they could use it as a lever to obtain the power they have always wanted. Climate Change can be molded into anything and without a null hypothesis it cannot be disproven, that put me firmly into the “it’s a watermelon” camp. green outside, red inside. This stand off course draws scorn and derision if I happen to voice it, sort of like wearing a MAGA hat.
My statement, when taking the hate is, “If climate change is such a huge issue, how can you be opposed to fusion power as a solution?”.
Nice Work!
DeleteOW~~~
The design of CIMP5/etc is also a huge headache for anybody with a slight interest in the reputation of science as a whole. Taking a bunch of different people's climate models and weighting them and publishing those results (this is done at LLNL and provided to the IPCC) doesn't get you a more accurate model, it only gets you more psychological buy-in by the researchers who have contributed their models to you.
DeleteIt's dirty dealing.
Lefties will approve of fission/nuclear power when endorsing such a thing brings them more power.
- reader #1482
There are dozens of factors that influence our climate. Thus, only multivarient analysis could possible predict the future. No, these lazy “scientist” seize on CO2 as the culprit ... because it suits their political agenda. CO2 is the absolute basis of all life on Earth and for the EPA to call it a pollutant is criminal.
DeleteMy statement, when taking the hate is, “If climate change is such a huge issue, how can you be opposed to fusion power as a solution?”.
DeleteI agree. Any reasonable person would support fission and, when possible, fusion as alternatives.
Seeing the attack on cattle raising, has anyone told AOC that deer, bison, elephants, and virtually all animals pass gas?
ReplyDeleteMay I just say ho amused I am that, in a blog where the author complains about how liberals supposedly twist the meaning of words, the same author uses the term "Luddite" to describe people who are endorsing making radical technological enhancements to replace our current energy infrastructure. It's almost as if there is not consistent core of beliefs there.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to read what I actually wrote instead of what you think I wrote. I did not call you enviro crazies "Luddites." I said the Luddites made more sense. Try attending a basic English comprehension class.
DeleteYour own words were, "I apologize to the Luddites whom I have offended by associating them with AOC's delusional screed,". I agree you did not make that association in this post. If you have never made such an association, I suppose it is me error for believing what you claim that you had.
DeleteAs for "you enviro crazies", the only words I have typed about the Green New Deal so far are above, where I agree with Salvorhardin above that, in at least one respect, it is not a reasonable document. However, I suppose categories are easier to maintain when they are fewer in number.
