Many Thanks

Just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for your kind comments and prayers.

We still are in turmoil dealing with the funeral home, medical examiner, David's estate issues, and his doctor. No answers yet as to what happened.

Thank you, again.

  9. No parent should have to go through what you are now experiencing. This is shocking. I hope you learn his passing was peaceful and painless. There is nothing that can be said to mitigate your pain.
    God Bless you all.

  11. ..."nothing that can be said to mitigate your pain."

    It does feel that way, but in the midst of a great sadness,
    and soul wounding tragedy, I believe their is a substance of miracles, and healing power, surrounding us, reaching out to help with our survival from the trauma endured by our loved ones, and ourselves... what saved me from my overwhelming grief, was a brave, and loving lil Angel, she out walking in the morning light, shortly after I had learned of my Son's Death. I was having it out with every, and any, demon, near enough to hear me! That is, until my angel asked me, thru my tears and rage, if "I was okay", Oh my God!, how could I not be? As you concluded above, dear Anon, "God bless you all"
    Prayers for the

  19. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My wife and I dealt with a similar loss ten years ago. Sudden death with no discernible reason. They were never able to determine a cause of death. I pray there is a heaven every night and I will add your family to my prayer.

  20. I have no doubt there is a heaven, from a couple of different "revelations." We will all be one, in perfect love. I have no doubt. There is MORE.

  22. My heart aches for you and your family. My youngest son, only a few months ago, attempted to leave us with a drug overdose and mercifully, reached out to me as the light was leaving his body. We were successful in saving him, however, I haven't stopped thinking how devastating it would have been to lose him. I can only hope that you and your wife can somehow find the strength to push on with your lives and continue to have a positive impact on the rest of your family.

    God Bless.

  23. If I may Say:
    ~~~May His Memory Be A Blessing~~~
    David Amselem -- Raleigh, North Carolina
    October 21, 1979 - June 10, 2022
    David Amselem was born on October 21, 1979, in San Sebastian, Spain, to Winston and Mirentxu Amselem, and died suddenly at his parents' home in Raleigh, North Carolina, on June 10, 2022.
    His parents were diplomats in the US Foreign Service, and David grew up traveling and going to school all over the world. He received his university education at the University of California, Irvine, receiving a BS in economics.
    He subsequently became a certified public accountant in California, where he worked for a number of accountancy firms. Tiring of California, David moved to North Carolina, where he took up employment in the foreign exchange division of Credit Suisse Bank. His foreign experience, knowledge of languages, mathematical skills, and solid work ethic served him in good stead in that occupation.
    David loved to travel, read, and watch historical documentaries on a bewildering number of topics. A voracious consumer of books on economics, as well as on American, European, Asian, and general military history, he closely followed the twists and turns of U.S. and Europeanâ€"most notably Spanish--politics. A superb writer and debater, he enjoyed long discussions about political and historical events. He had a sharp eye for nonsense, and did not hesitate to denounce it.
    He possessed a sparkling sense of humor and wry wit. He considered his two brothers, Daniel and Yonathan, also residents of North Carolina, as his closest friends, debating partners, and soul mates. He loved Spanish soccer, and was a life-long fan of La Real Sociedad de Futbol of San Sebastian, Spain. His remains will be buried in the Spanish city of his birth, and where he has so many grieving friends and family waiting to welcome him back home.
    He leaves behind his parents, brothers, sisters-in-law, Jodi and Mary Clare, sister, Naiara, and three wonderful nephews, Thomas, Jackson, and Leo.
  24. Dear Honorable Diplomad, Family, Friends,
    Readers, and Commentators too: As we now
    begin the re-Celebration of our Independence~~~
    I would like to flash back to a Post by WLA,
    I rediscovered it by using this Blogs _____
    "Search" feature. On which I entered, "SONS":
    It returned a title, relevant to Dip's current POST
    Dated Sunday, January 10, 2021-- Entitled:
    "Fighting Panzers with Custard Pies"
    The document began~~~ "I imagine that the gods of tech eventually will catch up to this little blog. Once they have finished de-platforming the much more popular, effective, and consequential messengers of the anti-tyranny and pro-Trumpist elements in our fracturing society, they will come for us little guys, too....Well, better keep writing and posting until they do. One day, I won't be able to do so. [til then pray you keep your powder dry patriot]
    As with my previous post, I want to say a lot, but my mind keeps racing, suffering a sensory over load, making calm, rational exposition difficult. Profuse apologies, again. Does anybody doubt that the tyrants have begun their big, public moves?
    [...]
    We see the theme that with Trump gone, as noted above, the Constitution and the Republic will survive, and get told stories about Trump trying to get the military to intervene--in fact, Nancy Pelosi sought to intervene in the legally established military chain of command. All Fake News Nonsense.
    [...]
    The coup has happened!
    I wrote about this coup attempt years ago (here, for example). For the past four years, we have seen an ongoing coup launched against President Trump by the DNC, and its allies foreign and domestic. It entered its final and most successful phase with the fraudulent elections of November 3. It continues today: we see the alliance with big tech come into full play as a curtain of censorship descends upon us on a scale never before seen in a modern democracy.
    >>>I am blessed with some very bright children. My two oldest sons noted that it gave them a little jolt of cheer to see our political class on Capitol Hill cowering under their desks and chairs, afraid of the wrath of the people. As one son wrote, "These politicians have no problem sending off young kids to die in endless wars over nothing, and destroying people's livelihoods with b.s. lock-downs over the flu, but they prove themselves cowards when confronted by the people. For once, they got a glimpse of life outside the DC bubble."<<<
    In Spain, when the golpistas erupted into the parliament (Las Cortes) brave deputy Prime Minister and General Manuel Gutierrez Mellado stood up and confronted them. Did any of our politicos go out and meet the crowd, talk to them, listen to them? Unlike in Spain, I note, our so-called "golpistas" were not armed
    [...]
    Can we put up an effective resistance? I don't know.
    [...]
    What do we have besides the truth and tens-of-millions of people? Is that enough? I don't know. For now, we fight the panzers of tyranny with custard pies.
    I would be delighted to get some Polish cavalry." -wla [end]
    BTW, not sure when Dip & Wife now plan their return
    to Spain, to complete their unfinished business,
    and the laying of +David's earthly remains to rest~~~
    Prey they know that we go with them,
    in our hearts, minds, and spirits, too~~~
  25. Long time lurker, first time poster. We lost our 35-year old son in 2020. It is a hard path to lose a child, but in time they will become a memory. Be reconciled that you will never forget them, and thoughts of them will burst into your daily living at the most inopertune times. Enjoy those memories.
  27. What a terrible blow. Best wishes.
    I once read a piece by a Church of England vicar who said he'd been taught that although grief never vanishes, after about 14 months the low point is past. Setting aside the spurious precision, at least it teaches all of us to hang on.
