Well, slowly, glacially even, but inexorably, the web of lies spun by the Obama misadministration re the Benghazi massacre is being ripped away--the process is very well summed up in this Jennifer Rubin post which includes some biting words from Brit Hume.
The emails are coming out that show what any sentient being on this planet already knew (that excludes MSNBC) that the White House was in full cover-up mode following the disaster; the White House, as the elections loomed, did not want the massacre to "stain" the Obama record on the Middle East, and had decided that the murders were going to be blamed on a justified reaction by Muslim crowds to an obscure video made in the California desert by an Egyptian Coptic Christian.
On this humble blog, I have written and written and written about Benghazi; these are some of the posts,

From the start, I questioned the whole story, and noted that the give-away that we were in for a storm of lies was the disappearance of Hillary Clinton and the arrival on scene of Susan Rice. Of all the people to take the point on giving the misadministration's view on Benghazi, why Susan Rice? Where was Hillary? Well, it turned out that Hillary Clinton sped off to something very important in Peru from where she put a lot of physical and political distance distance between herself and the Obama misadministration.
Rice is a political hack totally devoted to Obama. She was more than willing to carry the water for Obama on the Benghazi massacre. Clinton, who never liked Obama (Duh!) and has burning political ambitions to be President, wanted to be seen as little as possible on this issue. We have yet to learn when Hillary Clinton learned about what was happening in Libya, and what she did with the information. Did she call the President? If so, what did she ask him to do? It is amazing that we still do not know what the President knew, when he knew it, and what if anything he ordered done.
I noted in various posts that the CIA does not draft talking points for State or for the UN Ambassador. What has come out, of course, is that the NSC and highly political levels of State and CIA prepped Rice and developed the subsequent public line about a video, a spontaneous demonstration, etc.
I don't want to go on.
None of this was difficult to figure out. You didn't need to have been 34 years at State to know the Obama/Rice Benghazi story was a lie. The stunning thing, however, is not that Obama and his henchmen lied--what do you expect from these people?--but the near-total abrogation of duty by the news media. Not only did four Americans die in Benghazi, but so did whatever little was left of the credibility of the major news organizations. One note: FOX as an organization covered it well, and did so despite the derision of the other organizations and the White House. That's why I do not consider it an insult when my progressive friends say, "Oh go watch Fox!"
Dear Diplomad,
ReplyDeleteI'm no student of American Political history but wasn't Nixon impeached and ultimately resign the presidency for much less than this Benghazi cover up?
I shut up a bunch of Clinton supporters by mentioning the confidential files found in the Clinton White House and pointing out Nixon was run out of town for less.
Delete-Blake
Sgt you are forgetting something. The media is on Obama's side.
ReplyDeleteJust adding a more specific descriptor Diplomad Sir, might be, might not be of import. Your second paragraph:
ReplyDelete"The emails are coming out that show what any sentient being on this planet already knew (that excludes MSNBC) that the White House was in full cover-up mode following the disaster; the White House, as the elections loomed, did not want the massacre to "stain" the Obama record on the Middle East, and had decided that the murders were going to be blamed on a justified reaction by Muslim crowds to an obscure video made in the California desert by a native Egyptian Coptic Christian."
(I've got that in a file somewhere - if somebody [perhaps yourself Dip] calls my veracity I'll maybe have to go into assorted flashdrives then per my "usual habit" get the jpeg to you via ... probably Malcolm. If Malcolm, you happen upon this comment and can find same sooner - but need some assurance it's the correct Arkie ... Tompec Atlan.)
You're right. I am going to modify what I wrote to match your suggestion.

We know one fact, they did not send help to our folks in Benghazi. Planes loaded with response teams were in Italy a half hour a way and were ordered to stand down. If he could gain politically from a military victory he would have ordered a response. But Barry was shitting bricks and did not want a face off with the real folks behind the attack cause things could get real ugly. Uglier than it did. That administration seeks to blame the video should tell us something. And their ploy has worked. No one has really examined the reasons for the attack on the ambassador. It is a known fact that Stevens was funneling weapons from Libya to the rebels in Syria. That was Stevens area of expertise. Hence his presence at the unprotected Benghazi facility. Assad got wind of it after pulling a few fingernails on captured rebels, and needs the problem eliminated ASAP. So he turned to his allies for help. Now who might that be? uncle Vlad of course. So Putin puts together an operation with some contracted operators (Ammadinadingdong's boys in black) under the guise of some rebels meeting with the ambassador to acquire weapons and eliminates Assad's problem. Barry does not have the spine to face him off directly and orders all responses to stand down and needs to cover his ass so he puts out the story about the video. And that is why today Putin knows he can do what ever he wants in Ukraine.
ReplyDeleteA few weeks ago Seymour Hersh, wrote a piece on the Benghazi/Syrian chemical weapons/Obama nexus in The London Review of Books. Haven't seen any in the US media mention his report: "The Red Line and the Rat Line", http://www.lrb.co.uk/v36/n08/seymour-m-hersh/the-red-line-and-the-rat-line
ReplyDeleteFor once, Hersh lays out a very plausible story, one that makes sense.
DeleteOur MSM never makes sense anymore.
Russian military intelligence operatives had recovered samples of the chemical agent from Ghouta. They analysed it and passed it on to British military intelligence .
DeleteIn other words, MI6 trusted the Russian providence. A hundred years of Russian disinformation campaigns from The Trust to phony Russian defectors in the Cold War immediately forgotton.
The only plausible part of Hersh’s account is that is it is a Russian disinformation campaign which duped Obama into not attacking Syria.
Libertybelle, I would suggest the link you advertise, which I am reading, is a credible lie, possibly the truth. But I doubt it; look at the players: British Intelligence?
DeleteReading further, I see the US dem's just covering for Obama's total disinterest in his job. When this article's author gets into attributing evidence to Pelosi's words? Please!
DeleteAlso, although there are many players in Syria, there are many squared gambits in this game.
DeleteAnother piece was that one of the things that DID get media attention was the dust-up over the poor security at the outpost. The blame was put on underlings at State for being too cheap to hire decent guards for the consulate.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a sponsored attack on Hilliary that 1) served as a distraction 2) tainted Hilliary's leadership, and 3) offer a public resolution to the problem.
Again, the best defense is a good offense. At least Obama knows that much.
While our ambassador was clearly in the gun running business, I'm still partial to the kidnapping scheme where he would have been exchanged for the blind sheik. Unfortunately, the unplanned active defense of nearby American volunteers aroused the attacking force's ire and he was dead meat and useless for exchange.
"The blame was put on underlings at State for being too cheap to hire decent guards for the consulate."
DeleteActually, an effort was made for a while to blame the GOP House for trying to reduce spending by State. That didn't seem to fly and has disappeared but, I'm sure, is being kept in reserve for emergencies.
Actually it isn't a serious reserve, I refer back to a comment I left on this here blog awhile back - excerpt:
Delete… things were not as should've been. [No US Marines] Had it been a regular thing, security should've been provided by Triple Canopy but, apparently Blue Mountain [UK - contracting Libyans] was doing the stuff. ...
& the only reason I'm posting the date (of that comment) is to show it was made prior to the ARB finding - November 23, 2012 at 1:58 AM.
Well Mr. Mad,
ReplyDeleteTo have live this long and seen as much as I have I really didn't expect to hear "Dude, that was like two years ago!" from a NSC spokesman on a national TV news show.
How does one go about--in short order--finding exactly which independent film maker to blame? Is there a 'handy fall-guys' file somewhere?
ReplyDeleteSaw a claim on a blog that the video was uploaded 12 hours. after the compound attack. The title was changed from the original and the metadata from the upload pointed to Stanley Inc., a subcontractor firm linked to Defense and Brennan. The metadata supposedly was scrubbed a week later.
DeleteIn other words, the Administration put the video up. It was then ratcheted up thru a Tunisian video site and made to go viral across several outlets. The new title it was given was "The Innocence of Muslims."
DeleteGuys, please! The sources! The reliability! Next you'll be citing the Onion ... or CBS News.
DeleteHey A6Z, haven't "spoken" with you in a while.
DeleteThe name of the guy representing himself (for production funding) as the filmmaker gave for that purpose, "Sam Bacile." [*Note the first three letters of that last name being the first three in "our" alphabet & "Sam" of course being Sam. --- There has been "in certain offices" conjecture Bacile being wordplay on Facile the etymology from Latin facilis "easy to do" and, of persons, "pliant" from facere "to do." But as I mentioned, conjecture.
Later the guy was positively ID'd as one Nakoula Basseley Nakoula who since I think, may've changed his name - I seem to recall that last bit being mentioned though I've not personally checked into it.
But A6Z "The sources!" as you say & as Diplomad says, It ain't Rocket Science.
Arkie
Thought to add since there was this above, from Anon, "Saw a claim on a blog that the video was uploaded 12 hours, after the compound attack" the film was shown once pre-Benghazi - allegedly at some 'semi-private' "theater" in I think Yucca Valley --- I may be confusing that location 'cause I once lived er, rented a residence there.
DeleteAt any rate the "theater" was perhaps coincidentally, fairly close to Twentynine Palms.
Arkie
Hey, Mous. Hey, Arkie.
DeleteBut really, guys. "Saw a claim on a blog once" is really not much more credible than an official statement from the State Department.
O, and in answer to simplytimothy, there are any number of sources. Like many consumers, I favor Fall-Guys R Us, but governments and large corporations tend to favor International Scapegoat, Inc. Silicon Valley tends toward AutoStooge -- when you need someone to blame within nanoseconds. And then of course there are boutique shops like Easy Mark, Infield Sacrifice, InstaSchlemiel, and Vermont Sap. This list doesn't pretend to be exhaustive.
DeleteAs the mother of a soldier and the sister of two soldiers, I am still sickened on a daily basis by the thought that our boys were left behind by the slime in the WH. I am so glad all of mine are now out of service under this King Loser. Having lived overseas most of my young life, I always knew that, as an American, I would be rescued no matter what. THAT confidence is now completely gone. I feel for families who boys and girls are in service. The heartache of knowing that our CInC doesn't give a rat's patootie about them is overwhelming to me, I can only imagine what they go through on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteThrow them ALL out!
LibertyGrace'sGrandma
I second that. Our civilian leadership are so far removed from the military, and any code of honor (if only honored in the breach), they have gone round the bend now and are out of sight. To quote the C-in-C, it's happy hour.
DeleteDoug Ross's comic is the best representation on what happened that night.
ReplyDeletehttp://directorblue.blogspot.com/2013/12/benghazi-comix-is-this-what-happened.html
The big admission of NSC guy, was that the president did not come into the Situation room at all that night. I can't think why, if I was in that position that I would not go to a place specially designed for the president to assess a "situation". Of course press guy couldn't follow up with, "How often does the president visit the Situation room".
Coptic christian or Lebanese mafia? How fascinating the filmmaker had the wits to aggressively pitch the production to Reverend Wildmon and other evangelicals? Though the film was never completed, how interest the "set piece" was put into play in the ME.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting this extremely obscure barely functional and professionally unknown "filmmaker" produced a video fragment that was incredibly top-of-mind in the highest echelons of the Obama White House? How odd the POTUS was not only aware but obsessed with the video narrative, so much so he continued to propound it weeks after the entirety was discredited.
And stranger still the need to lockdown the felonious pretender filmmaker in solitary confinement.
And that the Secretary of State was similarly obsessed, telling loved ones of the fallen that the maker of the video would be found and punished.
And all this just weeks before the campaign, after weeks of systematically dumbing down Benghazi security, withdrawing military protection against the recommendations of its command and the Ambassador?
There were months of policy decisions carving up assets and compelling security posture stand down via systematic weakening of the defensive posture of Ambassador Stevens mission there.
And to see that pattern of deliberate policy moves matched by immediate and apparently pervasive White House orders to stand down and not engage the night of Ambassador Stevens murder?
What happened to Cross-border Authority? What happened to standard emergency interdiction procedure?
The mission is only a mile or so from the Benghazi coast, international waters only three miles from there.
Are the rumors true that in the attempt defend the Ambassador two brave American veterans were killed lasing the mortar placement that killed them; lasing a target with an F/A-18 on station waiting for authorization to strike?
As the lies fall away, I am most interested to learn the true story of what really happened to Cross-border Authority that tragic and scandalous night.
Only the POTUS can issue Cross-border Authority to cross another nation's border with hostile intent. Where was POTUS?
Did Valerie Jarrett intercede or otherwise impede, claiming authority of the President in doing so?
At the very least, its seem on this night these men were victims of murder by neglect.
[1]Are the rumors true that in the attempt defend the Ambassador two brave American veterans were killed lasing the mortar placement that killed them; lasing a target [2] with an F/A-18 on station waiting for authorization to strike?
DeleteYes to the first [1] No to the second [2].
Been told by those who know such would contradict their training; that lasing is a specific technique done only when capability to respond is on station and firing is imminent. Reason, the lasing person cannot simultaneously operate another weapon and without the on-station firing capability they are effectively disarmed; also, the act of lasing makes the lasing position immediately discoverable to those with appropriate optics.
DeleteWith all the lies flying around, why would the airborne truths be any less corruptible? That they were lasing is a telling clue; given their discipline and experience with the tactic, that implies something was up there on station awaiting authorization to fire at the target being lased at great risk by our boys. We forget the nation's border denied crossing was less than five miles from the site of hostilities. From that distance, a strike by air is mere seconds away from lethal impact.
"Been told by those who know such would contradict their training; that lasing is a specific technique done only when capability to respond is on station and firing is imminent."
DeleteThe situation on the ground was as might be imagined, extremely confusing. There was a transmission " 'We've' eyes on the target" (as to who 'We've" wasn't to my knowledge ever established .. neither has it been established who might've relayed the message to the rooftop position).
There was first one Predator overhead then once a second was within the same/near orbit - the first left the scene. *Note - Predator. Had either of the drones been Reapers ...
Why no mention at all of one of the star players, if not the star player, in all this, David Petraeus?
ReplyDeleteOr the Lebanese connection that indirectly brought him down; one a Democratic Party insider and lawyer, the other a Florida social queen infesting the Florida military scene, both with family business roots not much different than Nancy Pelosi of Baltimore infamy.
DeleteI wonder about this Lebanese connection. Reverend Wildmon was also Florida-based. What has been written on the Nakouli matter (filmmaker's other name) of questionable Egyptian (and likely Lebanese) decent stated they were very aggressive and made repeated efforts in trying to tie Wildmon to the production of the video during the spring and summer leading up to the 2012 presidential election. The wheels of subterfuge were grinding with great vigor in pursuing and seducing the Evangelical right to officially get involved and co-sponsor the movie production that later came from complete obscurity to become the obsession of the Obama White House and associated campaign for reelection. That's a lot of travel for a broke dude. That's a lot of background intel guiding our inexperienced filmmaker on how to work his way through those tight-knit communities of evangelical extremists. Why them? Why Florida and Texas when California is full of investors who gamble on movie productions every day? It's all very strange, particularly that it later required gag orders and an extended stay in solitary confinement, apparently at the behest of our POTUS, Secretary of State and Attorney General.
And during this Petraeus' wife gets a six-figure job in the Obama Administration.
After a lifetime of exceptional public service, Petraeus gets trapped in a solitary confinement of a different making.
Petraeus is but one of many of our military's finest who were set up on, abandoned, betrayed or otherwise destroyed by Obama-Jarret regime.
This remarkable insight was blogged at the Popehat link:
Delete"Nakoula seems to be an awful person. He's a bigot. He's a convicted fraudster. You can believe that the barbaric mob had no justification for murder and violence and still think that it's contemptible that Nakoula used an alias to blame the film on Israelis, possibly with the intent to inspire further strife between Muslims and Jews. Plus, according to statements by the actors and crew, Nakoula shot a generic old-times-in-the-desert movie and then, with the cast's name and faces attached to it, re-dubbed it into an anti-Muhammad screed without their knowledge — while protecting his own name with an alias. "
I can't find it now, but I remember reading that Nakoula was not fluent in and had no expertise with the language and dialect used in the overdubbing of the Arabic versions of the notorious video. Anybody else got a cite?
Petraeus flat out lied to the House Intelligence Committee three days after Benghazi when he testified to them that it was a "spontaneous" protest over a YouTube video that was responsible for Benghazi. When committed knowingly, as former federal prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy pointed out some time ago, such deception is a felony. Blaming the YouTube video for the violence was also, in effect, blaming free speech, which is a Petraeus hallmark when Muslims "act out".
ReplyDeleteIt would appear that Obama, Clinton and Petreus are all war criminals, assisting in murdering Christians in Syria with at the minimum their depraved indifference, and Boehner is helping [although that may be changing now] to cover up for them
"It has been learned that one week prior to the Benghazi attacks that resulted in the deaths of four Americans, CIA Director David Petraeus met with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan. This finding, reported by Hurrieyt at the time, further bolsters brand new claims by Seymour M. Hersh, the man who broke the Abu Ghraib prison scandal story in 2004.
In early 2012, the Obama administration, along with the administration of Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reached an agreement that would have Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia provide funding for an operation run by then CIA Director David Petraeus (the Petraeus Operation). The purpose of the operation, carried out by the CIA and Great Britain’s MI6, was to move weapons from Libya into Syria, using back channel ‘rat lines’.
U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, who’d recently met with the House Intelligence Committee just days prior to this death, met with Turkish Consul General Ali Sait Akin within two hours of the attack.
Last year, after outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testified in front of a Senate Committee about Benghazi, Boehner appeared on a radio show one day later and admitted to having knowledge about weapons being shipped to Turkey:
If Boehner had classified information about weapons being shipped to Syria from Libya, via Turkey as far back as January of last year, how long before that did he know about it? Despite a majority of House Republicans (185 – 38) who are calling for a Select Committee to investigate what happened in Benghazi, Boehner continues to refuse to appoint one [that may be changing]. It stands to reason that if Boehner knew what was going on in Benghazi prior to the attacks, he wouldn't want the truth about Benghazi to come out now....
If the U.S. presence in Benghazi was about arming Syrian jihadists through Turkey, countless innocent Christian lives have been ended as a result. Any member of Congress who knew that before the September 11th attacks in Benghazi has blood on his hands and any member of Congress who continues to remain silent about it is complicit in war crimes [the war crimes of Obama, Clinton and Petraeus being covered up with the help of John Boehner]."
So Boehner needs somebody to head the select committee who will not call Speaker John Boehner to testify as to what he knew and when he knew it....
DeleteOffer Petraeus immunity. That's the lynch pin that will unleash the other lynchings that are long overdue.
DeleteThat is my sense of Boehner as well. I am praying for Patraeus to show some honor and courage
DeleteI have wondered why we heard no more from David Petraeus. Did the FBI muzzle him because of his affair or something? There is one thread to pull somewhere and in time I believe somebody will either pull it or point it out to be pulled.
ReplyDeleteIt's been pointed to, yet to be pulled.
DeleteI was thinking Petraeus lied and promoted the party line under threats of being exposed. Which eventually he himself came clean with in order to rid himself of the pressure and give himself an exit.
DeletePetraeus was a successful general on the battlefield and was a potential presidential candidate. I've long argued that Obama has been systematically both purging the top ranks and eliminating political opponents - embarrassing Petraeus does both. What other successful generals or admirals from the Iraqi War are in any political position or have even retained their jobs?
DeletePetraeus was complicit in the gun running and lying is part of the job description of the head of the CIA. Still he was set up and pushed aside, fatally blemished politically.
I don't think the venue has been created for Petraeus to lay it all out. He's not a idiot, and he is a patriot surrounded by the vicious vipers imaginable.
DeleteGive him a proper theater with appropriate protections and I think Petraeus will bring them all down.
They should offer Petraeus immunity and let him sing. They should do that for other generals as well.
Anon 4:25....that is what I'm thinking re David P. He knows the political world and you don't get that high in the command structure without being a pretty good one yourself. Being a patriot, he will not forget getting jammed up by Obama and the FBI. He may be biding his time.
DeleteWhitewall,
Delete"I've long argued that Obama has been systematically both purging the top ranks and eliminating political opponents " Of course, cue the NSA, IRS, and FBI with Obama's methodology in his rise to power and it's not all that hard to see. Obama et al though have a problem of mathematics, the more you eliminate the more enemies you make and the chances of revelations go way up. I'm certain there is a large number of powerful people just waiting for the dam to break. The only thing is that when it does break it could wash away a lot more than expected by inside the beltway crowd.
On that James, "The only thing is that when it does break it could wash away a lot more than expected by inside the beltway crowd" you may be onto something.
DeleteMcKeon added, “The Armed Services Committee has interviewed more than a dozen witnesses in the operational chain of command that night, yielding thousands of pages of transcripts, e-mails, and other documents. We have no evidence that Department of State officials delayed the decision to deploy what few resources DoD had available to respond.”

James...a good washing may be in order no matter who gets soaked. In order for the citizenry to regain any trust in the Federal Ogre, this may be needed. Our nation needs to come to a reckoning pretty soon and find out who stands where. That goes for the MSM too as they are dirty up to their necks.
DeleteThe recent hiring of a new White House chief counsel, Neil Eggleston of Clinton era fame, is now coming into focus.
ReplyDeleteOne could never reasonably say Bill Clinton was actively engaged in corruption so severe it was equivalent to a sedition against the Constitution and the people of the United States.
DeleteI'm not so sure about the regime in there now. We need to start hearing more about Valerie Jarrett. When we do, that tells me The Truth is finally on the march.

ReplyDeleteThe generals are all held hostage by their pensions. Read HR McMaster's "Dereliction of Duty." It is a mystery that he hasn't been purged.
