Good or Bad for the Jews

"Good or Bad for the Jews"

Many years ago, and for many years, I would travel to Morocco to visit uncles, cousins, and my paternal grandmother. Some lived in Tangiers;...

A Little Nepotism . . .

Well, maybe not as bad as Biden, but . . . I want to encourage all of you to read an article by my son, Yonathan, just put up over at "The Mises Institute."

He does a pretty good job of taking apart Bernie Sanders' obsession with Scandinavia as the model for the USA. Bernie, after all, is an ignoramus when it comes to economics.

Worth a read.

  7. "men of artificially high esteem"

Unfortunately, we seem to have a fair share of them too... as well as women of artificially high esteem.

  8. It was only recently I learned that there really used to be a Vatican rank of Cardinal-Nephew. In the good old days a new Pope would have his predecessor's Cardinal-Nephews murdered. So tread carefully, Dip.

  10. His thing on the PRC is also nice. That Mises blog looks like a good place. Does he have blogs elsewhere?

  11. Crazy... the more I hear from Trump, the more I appreciate his opinions... In regards to GW/9-11, I have to say that I haven't heard *my* opinion on it expressed in high level politics until Trump just blurted it out.
Now that's not what the media-masters-of-twist are trying to claim he's said.. I'm talking about what he's actually said.

  12. Forget the economics, who would open their doors to hordes of people who hate your culture and will never assimilate, paying their way and giving them taxpayers hard earned monies, with free board and lodgings whilst they rape your women ???

  13. Fascinating article. Your son has a flare for writing. Imagine that.

I enjoyed the commentary below his article, also. He writes for a very thought provoking crowd.

  14. Quite a good read. Young Anselem has written truths that the Left can't allow to be true.

  15. Great article, mature thinking. The ol apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Chip off the .... well you get the idea. Also thanks for directing me to Mises institute. I was unaware of its presence!
However, Yonathan? What the hell were you thinking with that hippy name:)

    1. Hippie name? Yonathan (closer to the original pronunciation of Jonathan) means "God has given". It's a fine name. One of my sons bears it as well (although the traditional English spelling)

  16. Would Yonatan be good enough to send out a copy of his bibliography, or where he got his data on Sweden? I've heard about how Sweden had serious problems with non-public job creation and inflation before, but would like a larger array of sources than one article from the Mises Institute.

  17. One other comment:

Swedem, except in its very far north where it hits both Norway and Finland, is not a tundra country, but a taiga country, with a reasonable stretch of temperate land down in the south, near Denmark (that's the area where the impoverished peasants, picked-on pietists, and others who went on to populate the portions of America between the Great Lakes and the Pacific, along with their Norwegian cousins).

BTW, one of my great-grandmothers used to say, in the spirit of good-natured ribbing rather than vitriol, "En Svensker var en Norkser med hjarrer slutt utt."

  18. Off topic, but when crazy Uncle Joe is an upgrade to your party's field, should it not raise an eyebrow, or two?

  19. From today's testimony:

PM: Westmoreland grills Clinton on why the Foreign Emergency Support Team (FEST) was not deployed to Benghazi to rescue Chris Stevens while he was under attack.

Clinton ultimately says that she was “responsible for quite a bit” but she was not responsible for “specific security requests and decisions. That was not something I was responsible for.”

Yes it was, honey bunny. It was your job to ensure State was firing on all cylinders

  20. So, Obomber has vetoed the money for his armed forces. I am speechless ... but not surprized.

  21. I've been waiting for such an article about Sweden for years. Sweden is also the wet dream of French socialists (and closet socialists from the right-wing), for all the bad reasons described there.

Be sure to also read Johan Norberg's paper which he links : that's where the information comes from.
