Yes, Indeed, Let's Revise Our Gun Laws

I am sitting in a hotel room in northern California. On the nearly five hundred mile drive yesterday from my home in southern California, of course, the radio was almost non-stop dealing with the unfolding horror in San Bernardino. I was delighted that the cops in the field did an exemplary job in the wake of the mass murder and took out the two murdering Jihadis who killed 14 people and wounded many more. The world is better without these Jihadis.

The progressive media, as expected, couldn't wait for the facts, and launched a variety of rants about white men, gunshow "loopholes," need for better mental health care programs, and other familiar prog talking points. It was all quite nauseating. As the facts slowly, slowly, slowly--despite the efforts of the PC crowd--started to emerge, to wit, the killers were a couple of Muslims who shot up an office Christmas party, the progs and their Commander-in-Chief in the White House began beating the gun control drum. It was all the fault of the NRA and Republicans who have allowed terrorists to buy guns! We need more gun laws! Let's make our laws as tough as in France! Terrorists can't get guns in Fra--OK, OK bad example . . .

Yawn. For a moment, let's  pay back the progs with their own coin. I blame the Democrats and their media enablers for this massacre. Their immigration laws have allowed Islam to establish a foothold in our country. They have prevented us from rational profiling. Thanks to progressive rules, the facility where the massacre took place was a "gun-free zone." The victims, most of whom I am willing to bet were of progressive mind sets, were not able to defend themselves. In addition, of course, California has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the U.S. The killers in San Bernardino not only violated the "gun-free zone" they also had illegal high capacity magazines in their weapons, and of course, they violated the law against pipe bombs and IEDs.

Now, we have the cry going up about people on the "terror list" being able to buy guns. Progs such as Sen. Feinstein are pushing for laws to ban people on that list from buying guns. Ah, yes, let's have some administrative procedure substitute for legal due process. Do people know how people get put on that list? I can tell you from my experience working on visa "watch lists" that it is a highly subjective and hugely inexact process. I can also tell you that once you get put on one of these lists, it is almost impossible to get off. Let's just cut to the chase: let's have it so that the government can execute anybody on any terror or visa watch or no-fly list. That would be better all around in terms of paperwork and pesky due process . . . Now, of course, the San Bernardino murderers were not on any government list, but that's a minor set back.

So, yes, I agree, let's revise our gun laws. I, for example, live in a county in California where it is virtually impossible to get a concealed carry permit. Any killer knows that in that county the odds are overwhelmingly that his intended victim is unarmed. Time to allow open and concealed carry, I think, on a national basis. If we're not going to deal with Islam as we should, i.e., label it a violent totalitarian creed, then let's at least give our citizens a fighting chance.

  2. The news is now reporting that Farook had an argument with a co-worker last week about whether or not Islam was a peaceful religion. That co-worker is now a fatality. Did Farook show him, or what!?!

    1. Well, unfortunately, I'd say the co-worker won the argument.

    2. I've seen just as many stories (from eyewitnesses) that said he just got up and left and said nothing. I almost get the impression the "argument" theme has been to bolster the whole workplace violence argument, which is now so full of holes it's a bad joke.

    3. They apparently had an argument two weeks ago. AG Lynch is worried about Muslims being bullied. No doubt this was another attempt to bully one but Farook had his AR 15 handy and stopped the bullying.

  3. Considering all the supplies cached at the garage, and all the ME men seen going in and out, could this have been a sleeper cell with plans for multiple, coordinated attacks in the future? And then Farook loses his cool at the Christmas party and goes off earlier than planned, leaving the rest of the gang now without arms and exposed? Just a theory....wonder what will be found on the computers.....that I bet we will never hear about...since this is the Religion of Peace and all that.....

    1. That is the problem with the Jihad boys and girls; very short fuses. But fear not; I am sure that the displaced cell members will quickly find cover among the majority of peaceful Muslims where they will eventually meet someone who will set them up again.

  5. While the media ponders "workplace violence" or "terrorism" and the President offers up a muddled "mixed motive" to further subvert the truth, these useful idiots meticulously list all the "facts" that line up decisively on 'terrorism", then end their reports with PC caveats like, "we can't jump to conclusions".... When folks, who pride themselves on fact-finding and answering, "who, what, when, where, why and how", these journalists disgrace and discredit their profession. The only truth that shines through the clouds of PC dogma is that he "free press" lost its ability to think freely decades ago.

And to top it all off, the Obama administration had squishy milquetoast, Ash Carter choose the day after a terrorist attack on American soil to finally throw down our swords and announce all combat positions are now open to women. Yes, that sends a strong message to America's enemies..... We slash our forces, purge competent leaders and proudly proclaim "diversity makes us stronger"...

Nobody dreams up that kind of detail.

The government can already do that, and have.

  10. Mr. Dip,

I'd like to suggest that you consider writing about how the Israel-Palestine conflict is a microcosm of the larger war between the West and Islam. I think it doing so, it may give us some insights and foreshadow is lies ahead. My apologies of my suggestion is off the mark.

Any biblically literate Christian ought to know that Islam itself - as evidenced by the writings of the Koran - is Satanic. So the question for our currently non-Christian deep state is how long it will take those holding the reins of power to decide that evil is evil. My prediction is it will take them forever so long as they refuse to bow the knee to the Savior.

Man (human nature) is sufficiently flawed that it will be forever impossible for mankind to create utopia. The best we can do short of the second coming of Christ is to withstand evil as best we can and be prepared to pay the price, as evil men rise up even from within us.

  12. Very astute comment Whitewall.
The halfrican and Lynch (such an apt name for somebody who does not believe in US jurisprudence) are almost about to admit that Islam rules in the USA.
I hope they push their agenda, this could be point the halfrican's rule falls from grace.

  13. Unfortunately, it's not just the Democrats. A large fraction of middle eastern immigrants came in during Bush 2. Not to mention most of northern Mexico.

  14. Too little; too late.

I suggest that we all convert. By becoming "Reform" Muslims, we have a better chance of tearing down the religion from within.

    1. And then you will find your children will suddenly discover the allure of Jihad and martyrdom from those teaching the 'true' islam, unlike the neutered version of that religion you will be claiming.

    2. Possibly. But it was enough to permanently undermine Judaism and the Church of England, among other great religions.
