On Spying, Again

The details keep coming out fast and furious. I've written several prior posts about Russian spying and the story that the Russians "hacked" the election to favor Trump. Please review my golden words (here, here, and here, for example) if you have the stomach. I will make a few quick observations in light of recent developments.

Let me cite something I wrote almost three weeks ago,
The Dems claim that Trump is in bed with the Russians; Trump denies it and countercharges that the Dems had him under surveillance. We have here a problem. If the Dems have official intel on Trump's connections with Russia, how did they get it? . . . I think there was surveillance of Russian activity, probably by the NSA, and it found nothing to show that Trump had contacts with the Russians; the Obamistas and the Clintonistas then made up the accounts of Russian interference.
We now have coming out that former National Security Advisor Susan "video killed our people" Rice was apparently involved up to her neck in the Obama administration's surveillance of the Trump campaign and, later, of the Trump transition team. As more information appears, the details will change so let's keep to a bird's eye view.

It seems Rice demanded that names of Americans, apparently those working for Trump, be "unmasked" and sent around to the various intel agencies in Washington. Those Americans had their names collected, it is claimed, incidental to legitimate surveillance of foreign targets, especially Russians. Rice, it seems, asked that the names be shared around--no explanation given. Her actions seem (that word) of a piece with one of Obama's last executive decisions allowing NSA raw data to be distributed to all intel agencies.

Why would they do this?

Well, simply put, it's a way of not leaving your own fingerprints on the inevitable leak of those names. If you pass around politically loaded names to hundreds of people, you know, you absolutely know, that the names will leak, and it becomes very difficult to find the leaker. The names, I repeat, will leak and this leak gives the aura of a massive criminal enterprise underway by the Trump people to sell out the USA to Russia. It is an act of sabotage of President Trump of the grossest kind.

We still have no evidence of the Russians hacking the election to favor Trump. No evidence has been provided as to why the Russians would want Trump to win. No evidence has been provided of how the Russians would know something the pollsters did not, to wit, that Trump would, in fact, win the November election. Above all, there is no evidence that Trump or his cohorts were in league with Russia--what would they get out of it?

I think, furthermore, that my initial impression that the Democrats made up the story proves the best explanation. They told a big lie. This Russia story provided the excuse to conduct surveillance of Trump and his campaign and his transition teams. Just as the Obama people sold guns to Mexican drug cartels and then sought to blame the "gun trafficking" on the second amendment ("the drugs flow north but the guns flow south"), they justified their surveillance of political opponents with the Russia story. The overwhelming conceit was that they just assumed Hillary would win the election and the story would remain buried. Once they saw she had lost--presto!--Obama's executive order spreading the info all over town making it hard to find the culprit leaker/unmasker.

This is getting very nasty, and the Trump-Russia story is blowing up in the face of the Dems.

  1. Democrats are behaving all....what's the word...very USSR-ish. They seem to want to graduate to something more than opposition. Maybe all the way to enemy. If not, what would they do differently?

  2. Why doesn't anyone talk about the many foreign elections the US has meddled in, interfered with and conspired with opposition partys??? I have seen it talked about in two places, last night's episode of "Homeland" and an article on "thegatewaypundit"

Lots of good comments there, but no discussion anywhere else. As the previous administration was heavily into it, should be something the GOP would throw st the Dems!

    1. Obama used US tax money to interfere with the last Israeli election, yet little was reported on that action. That is not a guess nor fake news, it is a fact, period.

    2. So did Bill Clinton. He sent his election team over there to try to defeat the conservative party in Israel.

  3. A three-cushion carom shot on the part of the Obama crime family ... each participant can claim clean hands. But I am baffled. How can these B.O. birds be so fiendishly clever at home ... and so clumsily dense abroad?

    3. It's easy to look clever when the News Media is in your pocket and not only refuses to investigate/report on any malfeasance, but actively engages in providing cover and burying any story they see as a threat to the side they have chosen.

While I am all for a Free Press, the Press has abandoned the responsibility that comes with that freedom...impartiality and truth.

More, and more evidence that we were/are dangerously close to a jihadi designed coup, and civil war! In the meantime the Rat & Rino subversives, and their useful media idiots continue implementing their anti-America action plan! Keep the change Swami...

  6. "The Russians, the Russians, the Russians!!!" was just a ruse to spy on Trump, all all thinks Trump. That's it. A ruse. Much as "there's a natural gas leak in the neighborhood" might be a ruse used by a home invader to get into a house.

The spying on Trump, and all thinks Trump, was the vital, not the incidental. It was no more the incidental than hitting those buildings and murdering thousands was just incidental to those 4 flights on 9/11.

If Bush had done 5% of this spying on Obama, the MSM would still be electrocuting him.

  7. Seeing as how Hildebeast turned over 20% of our uranium reserves to a Russian controlled company, it escapes me as to why they would be interfering to get Trump elected, not saying they did, of course. Being that would be a logical thought process, it is no wonder the dems cannot see it.

  8. "This is getting very nasty, and the Trump-Russia story is blowing up in the face of the Dems."

But why should the Dems care what blows up as long as they can move seamlessly to the next Big Lie? They are counting on Americans getting tired of hearing awful things about Trump - true or not - so that in 2018 and 2020 Americans will vote Dem, if only to purchase relief.

  10. Of course the Russians hacked the election. I kept hearing a voice saying, "vott...tromp...vott...tromp..." coming over my computer. Only after the election, did I figure out it was a subliminal message given out telling me to "vote Trump". If a guy like me, with four reading languages, diplomatic experience (yes, I passed the Foreign Service Exam way back when), and being a Pehudnik to boot could fall for this, how much more susceptible were all those folks out in the Rust Belt?

  12. Watergate was a break-in of the DNC office by Republican operatives to bug the Democrats to gain information on the Democratic campaign. Does this sound similar to what is possibly binging exposed now that was done against the Trump Administration. President Nixon was innocent of before hand knowledge about the break-in, but did cover it up as best he could to protect his people. Yet, Nixon was hounded to resign or be impeached and the Senate Judiciary had issued an impeachment document. But now we are to believe from Democrats and the media that possible similar surveillance actions by the Obama Admin are NOT to be pursued in any form. And why is that? We know for a fact that the IRS was used to harass conservatives and the intelligence agencies were used to performance surveillance on reporters. The second ground for impeaching Nixon was that he TRIED to utilize the IRS against opponents as did the Obama Administration.

  13. Has anyone considered that since this surveillance started well before the election, it is possible that the Obamistas were surveilling everyone running, including Bernie Sanders?

Haven't merely considered that they bugged Sanders, have assumed they bugged him and everyone else because it does us no good to think of it any other way.

The idea that every phone call, FAX and IT transmission is scooped up and filed away for future prosecution has been reported as fact for years.

They bug everyone, and those at the top can surely manipulate agencies to do their specific bidding, to target certain entities.

During the 80s, is was well understood that phone calls and telexes running thru the ATT TAT-5/6/et al longlines undersea cable station in Green Hill, Rhode Island was well known. Calls even then were screened by computer for keywords related to narcotrafficking.

That was thirty plus years and many generations of intercept technology ago.

So now for the demsheviks to suddenly blurt, "Well yes we surveill everyone, but oh no, not Trump, not this one, no way Trump, because we respect his privacy' imparts new meaning to the term ludicrous.

Absolutely they bugged Sanders. It's likely that's how they sandbagged his nomination, with intel derived from their surveillance.

Beyond that, our recently departed and surely sadly missed dear leader has a long history of snooping into opponents. He owes both his state and national senatorial elections to the unearthing of unpleasant information about his opponents.

And he did after all quit the fearsome, frostbitten wastelands of Hawaii for the lovely, idyllic, Elysian Fields known as chicongo, home to the chicongo communist MOB whose specialty by sheer happenstance happens to be extortion and blackmail.

You bet they snooped on Sanders, along with every other candidate.

Clarification: calls travelling thru the ATT Green Hill site were monitored for keywords pertaining to narcotrafficking.

  14. I think that now the full scale of democrat criminality here is becoming apparent, if a whole lot of them are not in prison by 2020 it will be the death blow for politics as a peaceful (mostly) process. Every right-leaning person will see with their own eyes that democrats can violate the law at will and nothing happens to them, even when they are caught red-handed. At that point, why would anyone think they owe the government anything?
