Once, again, I apologize to the six people who care at all for the long break between posts. You all know my excuses, so I won't repeat them.
I just finished reading a piece in Politico--not normally one of my go-to journals--which if even remotely accurate is an outrage that makes all the other Obama Misadministration outrages pale by comparison. The article by Josh Meyer, "The Secret Story of How Obama let Hezbollah Off the Hook," is, in my view, well-written and appears/appears well-sourced, and quite believable. Read it for yourselves; you don't need me to tell you if something is good or bad, real or fake.
It seems like something out of some heated tin-foil hat Hollywood conspiracy movie in which good cops are closing in on the evil ones only to be told to "Stand down!" by a cabal of White House and State Department flunkies responding to orders from political superiors.
The article, as you will see, details how the White House and the State Department in their rush to get a deal with Iran on nukes, shut down a DEA/intel operation, "Project Cassandra," which had mapped out Iran-based Hezbollah's enormous international terrorist and criminal organization and its engagement in terror, of course, murder for hire, money laundering, and drug and gun trafficking among other nefarious deeds. It, for example, helped finance its operations by shipping cocaine into the US and Europe. The DEA knew this and was working to shut it down, when the White House and State told them, you guessed it, "Stand down!"
Obama and Kerry, it seems, wanted absolutely nothing to get in the way of their "historic" deal, which I long ago labeled as fake. Not even I, an absolute opponent and detestor of the Obama Misadministration, could have thought that those scoundrels would go so far in their bid to undermine America and the West.
I am beyond outraged; this might be even worse than "Fast and Furious."
If DOJ doesn't get on this, there is no hope for any of us in defeating the Deep State.
Lock'im up!
Count me as one of the half dozen. I read you every time I notice you’ve stopped by the blog.
ReplyDeleteI don't see much action from the DOJ. Jeff Sessions was not a good pick to head that department. Rudy Giuliani, Trey Gowdy, or even Chris Christie would have been better choices.
ReplyDeleteSundance at Conservative Tree House has doubts about Gowdy and he is usually pretty good. Nunes seems to be the first guy to actually make things happen. Maybe he should be on the list after next November. The Democrats will go all out to defeat him and it is California.
DeleteSIR! - Welcome to your first North Carolina Christmas. Mighty Glad to have You and Miz D. here with us.
ReplyDeleteThat said - and with the utmost Respect ... I believe the phrase you were looking for at the end of your post was " LOCK 'EM UP "
Contraction Spellin' here in The Old North State takes a bit of gettin' used to. No Worries, SIR .... you'll a'figure it out soon a'nuff and will be a'bangin' it out 'rite regular a'fore you know it!
Merry Christmas to You and Yours - May God Bless You All.
Thank you, thank you. I was focussing on Obama and should have used the plural.
DeleteObama sent epistles to Khamenei declaring his desperation for this non-deal.
ReplyDeleteSo then Obama issues his 'red line' to Assad on chemical weapons. I wonder whether Assad even bothered to check with Tehran before deploying chemical weapons, knowing exactly how desperate Obama was for this silly thing.
Failure to negotiate like an adult costs lives.

Reading this article again, I'm not so sure of my previous opinion. It's idiotic, stupid, childlike, elementary, and borderline criminally negligent.
DeleteBut is it treason? We would have to make a bunch of assumptions about why Obama and Kerry did this. Personally, I feel like they did it out of stupidity, sanctimony, and narcissism. They made the, in my opinion, absolutely insane decision to sweep a bunch of 'international crimes' (and perhaps some domestic crimes) under the table in the hopes of making a name for themselves that would cement them in the historical record as making peace with Iran (supposedly when nobody else 'could', though in actuality, it was because nobody else was that stupid).
Much like fast and furious, they chose to put US civilian and military personnel in harm's way in the hopes of cementing a legacy for themselves. They ignored pretty much *all* reasonable advice against it, from all corners of both sides of the aisle in US politics, *and* they ignored the precedents of neither Clinton nor Bush accepting Iran's domestic enrichment program (the same 'deal' terms were offered to all three presidents, but only Obama was stupid enough to legitimize Iran and grant them future rights to nuclear weapons).
Russia and Iran are both dictatorships pretending to be politically fair and inclusive... yet for some reason, Obama felt the need to antagonize the one with a serious nuclear arsenal that *doesn't* regularly call for our annihilation, and cozy up to one that does.
I'm not certain there could've been a worse President for the US, but he was probably within his legal rights.

of course, one doesn't have to be convicted in a court of treason in order to be a traitor... putting your own self-interest ahead of the country you are sworn to serve is a reasonable definition of 'traitor'.

"putting your own self-interest ahead of the country you are sworn to serve is a reasonable definition of 'traitor'": like George Washington, you mean?

Deletedearieme: I'll admit to my "cultural" ignorance.... Could you please state the oath of support to the British crown that the American subjects swore to abide by?
DeleteAs I have before said, can we impeach Obama after he has left office? If Mueller had an ounce of Justice juice in his body, he would leave his vindictive process crime witch hunt and deal with the Obama/Kerry/Clinton outrages. Oh how I wish I could read the histories that will ne written in 50 years detailing how putrid this bunch really were.
ReplyDelete"can we impeach Obama after he has left office?" If your impeachment law is modelled sufficiently closely on British precedent, yes.
ReplyDeleteSome people thought that Obama was and is a "Manchurian" candidate for the Muslims. They were laughed at as birthers and the like. Maybe, maybe not. What would he have done differently otherwise?
ReplyDeleteI have had sneaking suspicions for some time. It sounds ridiculous but, as you say, what would he have done differently ?
DeleteCollusion? Obstruction of justice? This may well force the recognition that the President cannot obstruct justice in the criminal sense and the only remedy for a President's violation of federal law would be impeachment.
ReplyDeleteWhat could Obama be charges with after leaving office in this case? Treason or is this one of those 'high crimes and misdemeanors"? IMHO the previous criminal enterprise has left so many openings for prosecution of so many in that administration it will, if we have a Atty Gen and FBI Directer capable and willing to pursue, take all their assets to bring the accused to trial.
ReplyDeleteProblem is that, as the executive, the President gets to do the stuff he did in the exercise of his executive discretion. So, difficult as it is for me to say, I do not believe he can be charged with any crime.
ReplyDeleteHave not considered what this means for those who carried out his directives.

ReplyDeletethese scum need to hang no point in wasting a bullet
crimminal conspiracy to distribute drugs!!!!! by the executive branch?
I knew they were coke heads but seriously?
did they just not care?
woerm/thr
Legal insurrection just mentioned this story is getting no mention in the MSM at all. And not even the usual Obama defenders are responding to it.
ReplyDeleteWow. Or as said in Princess Bride - UNBELIEVABLE!
inconceivable!
DeleteI'm sticking with the explanation that Obama is a dedicated Twelver who wants Iran to get the nuke so they can nuke Tel Aviv. Israel will of course evoke Samson Option and retaliate by nuking Tehran and many other targets. The Twelfth Iman Mahdi will ONLY reveal himself after the faithful have been tested, and the Twelvers wanted to speed up that event by any means necessary.
ReplyDeleteOnce Mahdi reveal himself, the Righteous will overcome all wickness and usher the promised Caliphate.
I'm not sure I fully understand the scheme but, the drugs came to the US from Central America and then were packed in used cars and shipped to West Africa??? Where they were then shipped to Europe?
ReplyDeleteI mention this because guess who had a used car dealership that was operating under shady circumstances... Imran Awan, the Pakistani IT guy to scores of Dem Congressmen and Debbie Wasserman Schultz!
You can't make this stuff up.
I check in every other day to see if you've posted. I'd like to know why no charges have brought in almost a year of the trump administration.
ReplyDeleteThe sad part? The "defenders of all things Obama", will eventually be forced to acknowledge this... and they'll say.. " oh yeah?.. well, both sides do it! " " Halliburton! " or something like that... however Vox or HuffPo writes it up...
ReplyDeleteThe un-named former "national security official" under Obama hinted that it was all done because Cassandra interfered with other intelligence operations.
ReplyDeleteYes, they had to let Hezbollah get away with everything because - what, they were looking to nail Nasrallah for a parking ticket, maybe?
A case can be made that Obama was a cunning agent of the right; his mission - destroy the Clintons, Democratic Party, and their deep state lackeys, and elect an outsider who would: supercharge American Military might, flush the Augean Stables of Foggy Bottom, smite ISIS followed by N.Korea and Iran, and supercharge the American economy, you might not believe it. But, I say he has succeeded HUUUUGELY! Thank-you O.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that the only mention of this from Obama staffers or supporters was to appear on the a.m. news shows and say "well it isn't true", then quickly move on to something else, like how Trump is using more than his share of Coca Cola.
ReplyDeleteMind I'm just supposin' but, were a prosecutor to include Iran as a co-conspirator, then a case could be filed, appropriately and justifiably, under the RICO statutes.
ReplyDeleteFor as we (probably) agree, what's been laid out for us by Mr. Meyer initially and brought "further" to our attention is. by any standard I can think of as, an on-going criminal enterprise.
Former President, former SecState or not.

O/T. Mr Mad, will this be any use to you in NORTH Carolina?
