Lots of doings in the Diplo household.
Diplowife has decided that all the furniture in House A in Wilmington must be switched with the all the furniture in House B in Wilmington. In addition, and with the Diplowife there is always an "in addition," she has placed our house in Durham for sale and begun a hunt for one in Raleigh which she claims is "closer." I am never clear as to "closer" to what, but I don't question anything anymore in the Diplo household. I thought the house in Durham was fantastic, but I am not the Charge of this Mission at all, so we compromise, AKA, I go along with whatever she says. I also had some health issues which needed attending, and I have done so thanks to Big Pharma.
I also have been forced to lose some 15 pounds and instructed to lose more just so that I can be considered merely fat. No respect for my body shape choices.
I have been following what there is of news from a slight distance. I notice that Speaker Pelosi looks increasingly deranged. She hates Trump so much that her already somewhat addled brain seems about to explode any minute. She openly accuses the President of engaging in some unspecified criminal cover-up and conspiracy and calls for his imprisonment. No evidence of any sort of such conduct has been presented much less processed through the legal system. It's just mad talk prompted, I am sure, by fear of what the ongoing investigations into the origins of the Russian hoax will reveal, i.e., an attempted coup against Trump headed by Obama/Biden/Clinton/DNC and key elements of the US (and possibly British) intelligence agencies and senior members of Congressional staff, the FBI, the DOJ, the NSA, the CIA, the NSC, and, it seems, State. This could get real ugly. I hope it does. People must be held accountable for this assault on the Constitution.
The once Great but now Lame State of California continues it Thelma & Louise getaway from reality. The legislature passed and the governor signed a spending bill which contains, among other doozies, free medical care for certain illegal aliens. Folks, we are now well past the beginning of the end here. The only I can say with satisfaction is that none of my dollars go any longer to the insane bureaucrats and representatives of California. American citizens will now be taxed even more to pay for illegal aliens to get free health care. Oh yes, that will solve California's growing litany of problems not to mention that will solve the illegal alien problem. Insanity. Step on the accelerator that cliff is coming up.
Off to walk the dogs. They at least make sense.
D'Mad,
ReplyDeletePelosi is adrift where the tides and currents form whirlpools, and she's likely to sink. (One wonders if the EPA will allow her to be removed from the water, but they've closed their eyes to pollution before.) Meanwhile, the currents within her party are at odds with themselves, too. And the Tide? "Orange Man Bad" is her faint wave at hope.
But she seems rather tame, compared to Kamala Harris. That thoroughly unremarkable individual said that, were she President, she'd have "no option" but to prosecute Trump.
Is that a green light for Hillary's prosecution? Inquiring minds want to know.
Also, the mess about Trump's take on foreign information? Could the noise actually be about protecting Biden from prosecution on his Ukraine meddling?

Hi Dip, PWGanon here. Add Austrailia and Italy to the list of countries that aided in the collusion hoax setup:

Morality no longer drives politics ... it is now politics that drives morality.
ReplyDeleteGod,when will it ever end with these Democrats?
ReplyDeleteSeriously,people are tired of it.
Free health care,LA city,(not county) has almost 58,0000 homeless.
California is taking loans out to pay the intrest due on loans for their civil servant pensions, yeah there's another 150 billion or so.
The way Speaker Pelosi acts, looks and sounds, I wonder if she has not had a stroke. She slurs when she speaks, and seems disoriented. It is time for her to resign, and be given time to prepare her defense, when her arrest for her role in all this is shown.
ReplyDeleteIt is time for her to resign...
DeleteOnly if the Dems agree to replace her with someone even more loony and incompetent. Right now she and clowns like AOC and Bernie are the best thing going to scare people away from the Dems.
Pelosi Galore!
You can drop those 15 pounds in a month, easy, without being hungry, or giving up booze. And feel a ton better than you do right now. No more aches, no more reflux, hello sleep!

ReplyDeleteD'Mad,
ReplyDeleteOn losing 15 Pounds: That's easy - simply go to London and place a bet on Beto winning the nomination. Lay down your 15 Pounds, and write 'em off!

(Who treats his diet instructions likewise.)
For us, 'closer' is always: to some market that sells things not-so-available at the standard grocer.
ReplyDeleteCould be worse.... like California... or Portland.

Was 260 and lost 75 pounds over a year and a half. At 74 I feel much better. The problem afterwards is always the creeping weight gain due to old habits since I lost the weight before. I lost both times it when I was away from home for extended times. Before the house was free of children and now our children are grown, but the empty nest means my spouse wants to feed me feeling it is now her major duty. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteDuring Obama's time I stood on my corners for 15 months with negative signs on his policies/actions. Only 3 written death threats that the local police and FBI (mailed threats) wouldn't investigate. But if I had been harmed or killed they would have investigated, I was told. In blue MD death threats are not good enough for a CCW. Thinking about returning to the corners with positive Trump messages. I expect actual attempts to harm me in the present environment. Ordering a bullet "proof" vest this time.
My son is going to NC next month looking for a retirement location. He is native California and, like his father, is planning his escape. He still has a few years and his kids are still in school but planning under way.
ReplyDeleteTry Tryon ... or Hendersonville.
DeleteTell him to check out East Tennessee. Especially if he could get a place bordering the Cherokee National Forest.
DeleteLoudon County, Tn. is nice.
DeleteI'm going to Blount.
Deletesome nice places in Blount.

The simple paradox of marriage: All you have to do is: Give her what she needs, before she asks. The only problem: What she needs, isn't what she wants. Hence the paradox.
ReplyDeleteDistance from Wilmington to Raleigh--129 miles
ReplyDeleteDistance from Wilmington to Durham--153 miles.
Are 24 miles worth two new sets of closing costs?
Of course relocating to Raleigh will eliminate the nasty I-40 corridor between Raleigh and Durham.
There was a reason Chapel Hill opposed and delayed that section of the Interstate. When I lived there 40 years ago, it was rural farmland.
It's clear to me, at least, that retirement is not working out for you diplomad. Let's start a Consulting business. It won't attract trade but it will give us an excuse to hang out and drink beer.
ReplyDeleteEast TN is where we have been looking. And my husband wants Sneedville, because he talked to the building inspector/code enforcement guy by phone. He was told "Sir, this is Hancock county. You can do whatever you want with your property. It's always been that way and will always be that way." Plus they are too poor to afford many bureaucrats :)
ReplyDeleteAmen... let people take some responsibility for themselves... sheesh.
Delete"But my house fell down in the rain."
"You built it on sand."
"But why didn't the planning department prevent me from doing that?"
The wise man didn't need a permit.

To lose weight:
ReplyDeleteCut the carbs. I mean completely. No bread, no rice, no pasta, no potatoes, no corn, no cake, no cookies, no crackers, none of this stuff. Bare minimum of sugar in anything - as in, rather than 2 scoops in your tea, the tip of a teaspoon - just enough to take the edge off the bitterness. Switch your diet over to 50/50 vegetables and meat. Whenever you get cravings for potato chips or cookies or cake or whatever, eat half a slice of bacon or a slice of sausage or salami. Basically, the food pyramid? That whole bottom layer? Cut it off.
Do that for two weeks to a month, see how it goes.
My experience was that not only did the weight vanish and stay gone, but that it was very easy to stay that way and my energy levels jumped to about five times what they were before. Now if I eat half a bag of potato chips I start feeling really sick, and I don't do it again.
Dip, You might like to give the carnivore diet a try. Amazing results and easy to do after you've gone through the first few days of giving up sugar and carbs. Your seven readers would like you to live long and prosper! Www.meatheals.com is a good place to start.
