Good or Bad for the Jews

"Good or Bad for the Jews"

Many years ago, and for many years, I would travel to Morocco to visit uncles, cousins, and my paternal grandmother. Some lived in Tangiers;...

Fruit of the Gloom

Using my IPhone while sitting in a Vegas casino.

Hit a Royal Flush on the video machine.

Yep.

Of course, it was on the nickel machine, and pay off was 4000 nickels.

Better than nothing, but I hope Obama's IRS doesn't find out. I understand they need every penny out there to pay for those Hawaii vacations.

Despite my "windfall," I can't shake my gloom when it comes to thinking about the future of our country.

Back to the machine.

Proof of my prowess on the nickel poker machine.

  1. I just want to know how it feels to walk around the casino with 4,000 nickels in your pockets!!! %^)

  2. Sounds like your trip to the slots (with your money) has paid off better than Obama's trip to GM (with OUR money).

  4. Well, the silver lining here is that Hawaii is not like the lower 48, so far away, and expensive to visit his presidential library.. So when he makes final exit after these 4 years, it is easy to forget him, no? A just result for a narcissist?

    1. Well it will be uber pricey to build the dumb thing in HI too. We could only hope that they build it there as opposed to Chicago

  5. Well, we've seen Antonio Gramsci's "march through the institutions" bearing fruit. As a high school social studies and ESOL teacher, I see the nonsense so many of my colleagues believe, and the curriculum I am supposed to follow, and I feel myself to be a professional swindler of the young and their families rather than a guide and transmitter of knowledge.

  6. Mr D: While in Vegas, you should take a trip uptown to the intersection of Main and Owens, the epicenter of homelessness in our fair city (the majority of relief agencies are located there). What you see may be a vision of the future.

    1. I did as you suggested. Pretty grim. I also noticed a lot of homeless sorts camped out in a vacant lot near the Tropicana.

  7. To you and the Diplowife a very Merry Christmas. Enjoy your stay in Vegas. Unfortunately I don't think your feelings regarding our country are necessarily out of line. My dad is going on hospice and I had the thought that I should email him and tell him that one good thing about passing on to Heaven is that he doesn't have to live through the next 4 years of Obama. He would most likely find that pretty funny as we share a warped sense of humor. As to fun places to visit I understand NOLA is a wonderful place to visit during the Christmas season. Tends to lack a lot of visitors and the decorations are rumored to be quite grand.
