Good or Bad for the Jews

What is Not Being Said About the European Train Incident

As have most other sentient beings in the Western world, I have followed with fascination the story of the foiled jihadi attack on a  European train. As we know, a Moroccan practitioner of the Religion of Peace boarded an Amsterdam-Paris high speed train armed with an AK, a pistol, and a knife, and with the intent of killing infidels and, presumably, earning his prescribed quota of dark-eyed virgins.

He picked the wrong train. A gang of infidels, four Americans and a Briton, frustrated the Maghrebi's plan for eternal bliss by disarming him, pummeling him into unconsciousness, and trussing him up like a Christmas (oops!) turkey.

This story says a lot about many things--not all being prominently discussed. We begin by noting the nationalities of those who bravely launched and executed the uprising against the Islamist wannabe killer: big, strong, young American men assisted by an elderly, wise-cracking, man of the world Brit. Central casting had to have a hand in this. Following in the footsteps of the heroic passengers on Flight 93, this Anglo-American squad refused to let the jihadi have his way. He would not kill those passengers on that train that day. That immediately raises a question. Why is it that Anglo-Americans are much more willing to take matters into their own hands? I'll leave that for the sociologists, but I am sure readers will have opinions. By the way, I am certain had there been Australians, Israelis, or Canadians on that train they would have joined the Maghrebi bash. I think that says a lot about where one might yet find the remnants of Western civilization.

I see the press is now full of stories re the need to review security measures on trains and buses, etc. As the Beatles would say, "Yeah, yeah, yeah." While you're at it, let's look at security in casinos, shoe outlets, bingo parlors, linen stores, supermarkets, restaurants, gas stations, etc. Lots of stories, too, about how the Spanish security services had flagged Mr. Morocco, noting he had gone off to Syria to do a spell with ISIS, and passed his name to the French, Dutch, Germans, etc. Cue the Beatles,"Yeah, yeah, yeah." OK, he was flagged. So? He had no trouble moving around Europe, and, ahem, despite Europe's draconian gun laws, obtaining an AK, a pistol, lots of ammo, and a knife, oh yes, and boarding a crowded international train with all this gear. I note, by the way, that he was apparently the only person armed on the train--some, such as me, might argue that a 99.9% "gun-free" zone is considerably more dangerous than a 50% "gun-free" zone.

Lots of issues here. The biggest one, of course, is being totally avoided. Shall we dare mention the elephant rampaging in the living room? Yes, by all means, let's. Why was Mr. Morocco in Europe? Why is Europe allowing itself to be flooded by a invasion of persons who adhere to a violent, totalitarian ideology, i.e. Islam? These persons detest everything about the West, ridicule its kindness and generosity as contemptible softness, and see us all as candidates for forcible conversion, enslavement, and death. Believing in the values of Western civilization does not mean signing a suicide note.

All the flagging, monitoring, metal detectors, peace marches, Coexist stickers, and "guns banned" signs will do nothing, or worse, as long as the adherents of the Religion of Peace are allowed almost unfettered entry into our countries and homes, and as long as we continue to accept the fiction that Islam is a religion just like any other. Short of our dealing with that, you better hope and pray that wherever you are there are brave Anglo-American men around who will fight and die for you.

  1. The reports also say about French man who was the first to attack the gunman.

Australians and Israelis, little doubt. Canadians? Not so sure... As for the Brits, please note the man's age. It was a heroic country, once upon a time; and aspects it still are; there's a reason, though, that Carolyn Glick says she can no longer bear to set foot in the place. Jeremy Corbyn is quite normal among the British chatterati, and there's nothing heroic about that.

Continental Europe, Britain, and the United States all have the same problem: the ruling class v. the country class. See Angela Codevilla and Lynette Burrows on this subject. The Trump campaign in America and the National Front in France are symptoms.

    1. My son did three tours in Afghanistan as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. I'm pretty certain he would have been as responsive as those brave Americans, as would anyone I've ever met in the Cdn. military. Canadians have been fighting along side of American soldiers since WW 1 and most military people know that. I would be interested in knowing the basis for your comment.

    2. canada's contribution to the war on jihadiism in afghanistan and against isil is truly noteworthy, and more americans need to appreciate our northern brothers in arms. imho and with the greatest respect, having served in toronto, and with scottish grandparents via the maritimes and rural ontario, i see at least two canadas: what you encounter in downtown toronto or vancouver, and what you see starting 100 clicks out, what i call the true north. god bless your son; my two sons have served 5 tours in afghanistan and iraq between the two of them.

    3. Likewise to your sons. As proud of them as we are, I'm certain you are like me in that you're glad they're home and safe. My son survived a road side bomb, but his mate died in his arms. That was four years ago and he still can't talk about it. God Bless all of them.

You think the professional managerial elements has any use for the non-exotic working class? Something Peter Hitchens said about why his college-student confederates favored mass immigration ca. 1971: they wanted the immigrants because they would make Britain less like Britain, and they did not like Britain. Same deal among open borders advocates here.

  5. Charles Martel may have turned the hordes back, but there's nothing he could do about a cultural suicide over a millennium into the future. Many many soldiers died over many many years to prevent the loss of what's being freely given away today.

I find myself in an analogous quandary. I am of the interventionist type. My better half is of shanghai/taiwanese stock, from a lineage of frowning on 'getting involved in other people's business'. That kind of thought process doesn't hold tightly after a generation or two, but it can be problematic early on.

  6. There's another aspect to this story that remains unsaid despite it's clarity:

One member of the American Trio is of the non-Caucasian variety. But look: he is finishing his college education. He has white friends, even military friends. He speaks clear English (for a young guy, that is) with no signs of the cultural expression common to his subgroup of "in your face Ebonic expression" and "I gotta have my respect" which we see far too often.

Yes, I know, I'm just another redneck. But some things are obvious to those who can see.

Dear RUSFSO - look closer to home, we are being flooded by Muslims through the current State Dept. policies, thousands per year who will not assimilate, ever, as they consider the Koran supreme above the constitution. We are importing the same strife that now racks the EU only it will come in those regions being flooded (MN, MI, FL etc.)

    3. ME refugees are being placed nationwide. There is a sizeable and growing population in ND, I suppose because its a relatively stable and fiscally conservative state, with budget surpluses, that will put up with it for a long time, being very similar to the Nice Lutheran Ladies who imported the Somali's for twenty years into MPLS, who elected Keith Ellison for Congress, the first Muslim, before the Muslim-In-Chief.

  10. Note that two of the four involved had military training and experience. IMHO if they had been French military with the same experience, the result would have been similar. The key is training, training, training. These fellows had been trained in scenarios so that when they saw the situation, they did not have waste time thinking up a plan of action, they had one ready to go on the shelf. A very, very long time ago, my martial arts training put as much emphasis on the psychological as the physical.

  11. I also noticed in some of the reports that the NG guy from Afghanistan who helped disarm the guy, took the AK and checked the other cars from more of the jihadis, well done. A little warning to jihadis, enjoy this moment you have of relatively free movement and covert upper level sympathy. That comes from a minority of us, powerful yes, but distinctly a minority. The time is coming soon that we will be hunting you and in a big way.

  12. Yes. That information came initially I think from the video statement that Alek himself posted on the internet shortly after the incident. It has been interesting to watch how long it has taken for the media to tell this story properly in detail, and now I don't think they are every going to get there. After the three friends and the Brit took the guy down, Alek S. immediately took the AK and checked the whole train while Spencer S. gave first aide to the wounded professor. Such cool and professional behavior. I wonder how the passengers in the other cars experienced that, must have been a relief to see Alek.

  14. I think it's an Anglo-Celtic mentality that permeates the countries that you mentioned and all peoples, no matter their original backgrounds, get immersed in it once they become citizens. Here in the states it is readily shared by Hispanics to name one group. Military training certainly instills it. Canada, Australia, UK, Ireland, New Zealand all share the same traditions. You could say, at the risk of not being pc, it may be the discerning reason we run the world.

  17. Over at the BBC site there are thumbnail sketches of the four men who clobbered the wannabe jihadi. Modest men all, but one has said (paraphrasing him) "Please take this as a lesson, when terror strikes, don't just stand there, DO SOMETHING!" which is very sound advice. Don't capitulate, counterattack with any means to hand.

  20. Something that DiploMad alluded to in the post: Why was it necessary to take on an armed assailant from an enforced point of disadvantage? Why was it mandated that the heroes bring fists to a gunfight?

Even here in the U.S., (even with the increased of CCW), the lawyers are performing asymmetric lawfare upon law-abiding citizens so that they fear the retribution of using force to save their own lives. (The process is the punishment.) Even LEO's are backing down and shutting down, think "what's the use".

  21. Had a long talk with my pre-teen kids over this. Suffice to say this was an aspect of the American psyche. Don't give up, Don't lay down. Stand up and fight back. When the wolf comes to dine, be the sheepdog and not a sheep.
