Solving Russia for the Progs: A New "Blue Division"

OK, OK. We are on prog/DNC/MSNBC/CNN meltdown in utter OUTRAGE! over Trump number 375 umptillion, give or take a billion. Yes, the President misspoke in his press conference with Putin; yes, he conflated, as do the progs, the issues of Russian meddling and Russian collusion.

It does not matter, I guess, that this "gaffe" comes nowhere near, not even in the same league, as non-gaffe statements by Democrats in the past. It does not rank with FDR giving away Eastern Europe to the Soviets; Truman's bungling of the Korean War; JFK's acquiescence to Soviet rule in Cuba and the Berlin Wall; LBJ's bungling of the Vietnam War; Bill Clinton's hash in Somalia; Hillary Clinton's "what difference does it make"; Obama's open mic, "after the election I will have more flexibility"; and, of course, Obama's tacit allowance of massive Russian and Chinese espionage ops against the USA; Obama's allowance of massive Mexican interference in our elections; Obama's "Fast and Furious" disaster, etc. The list is long.

Doesn't matter.

You see, you gotta understand, Trump's gaffe MEANS THE END OF THE WORLD! It is TREASON! TREASON! I tell you! OUTRAGE!

And that's where I come in. You see, it's NOT treason because we are not at war with Russia. We are currently in a stance that's about as close to war as you can get--no President has been tougher on Russia and Putin than Trump--but we're not at war.

But, but, my faithful six readers, your Diplomad has a solution so that we can accurately call any dealing with Russia an act of TREASON!

War! Well, sorta .  . .

Watching the fascist ANTIFA thugs in action made me think of Adolf Hitler and Francisco Franco. Once Franco took power in Madrid with Nazi help, Adolf Hitler began pressuring him to pay back German assistance with Spanish entry into WWII. At a minimum, Hitler wanted Spain to take Gibraltar or at least allow passage of German forces through Spain to do so. Franco kept stalling on Hitler's request for Spain to become an active belligerent. Cagey ol' Franco, you see, was never 100% certain that his pals Hitler and Mussolini would win the war. Franco, furthermore, had a lot of respect for the British Navy, and didn't want a redo of the Armada or Trafalgar. Franco, an ardent anti-Communist, was about as anti-Moscow as you could get--well, except maybe for Rachel Maddow--and was willing to help Germany against the USSR, but without unnecessarily antagonizing the British. His son-in-law, Foreign Minister Ramon Serrano Suñer, had the solution: Spanish "volunteers" to serve as a Spanish unit within the German Army against the USSR. As they used to say in the old days in Vegas, "Winner! Winner! Chicken dinner!" Off the (mostly) "volunteers" went to fight and die in Russia in the "Blue Division," called that because of the bright blue shirts of their snazzy dress uniforms. Nearly 50,000 Spaniards--and some Portuguese--fought in Russia for a couple of years or so until Franco ordered them home when it became obvious that the Nazis had an appointment with the dustbin.

There you go! No charge. It seems the progs want a war with Russia; we, therefore, should give them the opportunity to put their snowflake bodies where their mouths now reside. Let's put together a prog division to go fight the Russians! Let's give them a war to call their own. We can even--BONUS!--keep Franco's original name for the outfit, in honor of how they vote and the result of their political ideology, to wit, Blue and Division.

Our Blue Boys, Gals, and Others could have their own uniforms, too. Maybe something based on the ANTIFA costume? A face mask might prove quite useful in the Russian winter. Footwear designed by the holders of the San Francisco Pride parade? High heels could be a bit slippery on the ice, but, hey, it's worth it to fight the Russkies. Weapons? Well the progs are anti-gun, so maybe some sustainably grown bamboo poles? The Spanish Blue Division had regiments named for major Spanish cities--Madrid, Valencia, Sevilla--and ours could do likewise: you know, Blue prog wonderlands such as Chicago, Baltimore, San Francsico, Detroit, Flint, Gary, and even Londonistan for the British volunteers who undoubtedly would join. The Brits could fly their Trump balloon just to let the Russians know exactly where they are located!

Let the progs have their own little war against Russia. MSNBC could imbed with the Blue warriors, and keep us informed on the progress of the progressive march on Moscow.

It's a win-win.

You're welcome, America.

  1. If I recall, most of the 'volunteers' in the division were the real fanatics who could be a potential threat to Franco. It was a good way to execute them without getting his hands dirty.

  2. Great idea...kind of an updated Abraham Lincoln Brigade...let our wonderful infallible intelligence community which is beyond all criticism for permitting 9/11 etc. set it up...they can be the officer corps and head off to Ukraine or Syria or wherever with the San Franciscans et al. and finally stop bashing President Trump...gives them something else to do...

    1. LJ,

I hope you don't really think that party apparatchiks like Comey, Clapper, and Brennan speak for the IC at large. They don't.

While it is a simplified estimate, it's safe to say that half the country is on one side of the political debate while the other half aligns with the opposite side, the Intelligence Community isn't that much different other than the fact that much of it is either active duty, retired, or former military.

I know Clapper wore the uniform of a USAF flag officer not that long ago but the blanket condemnation of the Intelligence Community for the bizarre behavior of Obama loyalists aggravates me almost as much as the ridiculous Democrat-guided media claims that all 17 agencies and bureaus that comprise the IC are somehow united in agreement on the Trump "collusion" fantasy. This particular lie about consensus is cynically repeated by the Party's media outlets because they know that most Americans have no idea that only a few of the 17 have anything to do with counterintelligence and that none of them will publicly refute efforts to abuse them for the purposes of deliberately misleading the uninformed.

That said, if you still want to send Clapper, Brennan, and Comey off to Ukraine, I only ask that you don't forget to pack Mueller, Strzok, Page (because some women should be in combat), and Rosenstein in the same crate.

    2. I have a daughter who is a 20 year FBI agent and I don't like what Comey has done to the FBI but where are the CIA and FBI agents standing up for reality ?

  3. Steve Cohen seems to be very keen on war. He even called for a military coup against Trump. The Blue Division is perfect for him. He will look just fine in high heels. Excellent footwear in the taiga.

  4. TREASON today, but exactly two years ago -

“In the face of somebody like Putin provoking him cleverly — because Putin’s a heck of a lot smarter than Donald Trump — I do worry that with the nuclear codes he would end civilization as we know it. This is a man who has more sociopathic tendencies than any candidate in my adult life that I’ve observed.”

    Opposite opinion, same hysteria.

  6. I find myself wondering whether "the blue warriors" realize where, if they do decide to invade Russia, exactly they'll be getting their rocket engines from ...

  10. Can you imagine the "trigger warning" that would be required before the Prog [Blue] Division went to war?

  13. It's necessary to remember that Russia has a GDP of Italy and a population death spiral. Putin has played a weak hand pretty well when he had Bush and Obama as opponents. Now, he is in the Big Leagues.

  14. Question here. Given the historic animosities and aggressions of Germany v Russia (whatever it may have been called at the relevant times) and vice versa:
Why, what explanation might there be, for today's Germany to prostrate itself on the altar of Russian energy? To lay itself & its national economy and political independence bare to the mercies of the one hegemonic economic power that Russia still retains?
What is the rationale and the purpose in doing so?

  15. Historically Germany-Russia have had many periods of good and bad relations. European history is so very turbulent. Tsar Peter invited many Germans into St Petersburg, he realized that they brought an advanced, European knowledge to his nation. Bismarck made a point of good deals with Russia, Tsar Nikolai and Kaiser Wilhelm had good relations. After the Russian revolution Soviet thought they had good relations with Germany (the Molotov-Ribbentrop deal) but Hitler had other plans like Barbarossa. After the enormous crash and defeat came a long period when Germany had to accept the situation. As we all had to do in Europe, but we all get along quite good. I guess Germany think it is excellent with energy nearby. The countries are almost neighbors, well Baltic neighbors, with the enclave Kaliningrad stuck in between. Maybe they can negotiate very good deals. And it is certainly better than having to deal with MidEast. Many of us over here cannot understand this fear and suspicion against Russia. But I guess it is handy for some politicians to get people to hate each other, just like they did during the big wars. As I have said over and over again, the problem in Europe is the enormous non-Western immigration/invasion , muslims in particular, not Russia. By the way, Russia organized a great FIFA-championship that many Europeans enjoyed. Many, many Europeans travelled to Russia during the games and realized that people over there are just like you and me. We shouldn´t listen to those nasty politicians.

    1. Thank you for that information. I was thinking more along the lines of this, from 2009, where Russia was not at all hesitant about threatening to (and did) curtail its energy delivery systems to manage its political interests....
