Good or Bad for the Jews

Sorry for the Gap

I have been busy with mundane things, e.g., a Twitter mini-battle with the loons at PETA, caring for my sick dog (much better now from his colitis), and just being too depressed about all that is going on to comment on all that is going on.

I am working on a little piece which I should have up tomorrow. See you then.  Meanwhile if you want to get ready for the impending arrival of Obamacare, visit your local DMV, but imagine it with the screams of the sick and dying.

  2. You really have to be specific about the DMV.

Arizona, my home, has the best DMV anywhere. Very well organized, virtually everything you need to do can be done online. If you do have to go into an office, and you can do it in the middle two weeks of the month you'll have maybe 30 minute wait. First and last week, maybe an hour. The folks who work in the office are very knowledgeable, very polite and very efficient.

We renewed our registration in July. Had to get an emissions check. Did the emissions check around the corner from our house, you can go online and see a video of the lines for a check at every station. Including the two mile drive it took less than half an hour. Everything else done online took five minutes.

Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles, on the other hand, is where Satan trains his demons.

    1. Before California became a one party state it was also a breeze to use the DMV if one planned ahead just a bit. Now it's becoming more like Massachusetts.

    2. Here in Alberta Canada, the DMV function has been out-sourced to private registry companies for at least 10 years. The longest I've had to wait in line since that change was 10 minutes.

  3. I've never understood the whole emphasis on government health care for everybody. We've always had it. Medicaid. Medicare. A lot of states, like mine, have had their own version of indigent insurance. There are VA health clinics (someplace you do not go unless you have no other choice). There are county health clinics.

My brother was unemployed in one of the fly over states. He got a metal splinter in his eye. He was operated on immediately by the best eye surgeon in the state at no cost.

What would have happened to him under Obamacare? I don't even want to think about it.

    1. Ooops, looks as though I approve of government healthcare for everybody. I most certainly do not. I'm just saying that the myth that it was predicated on, that people were dying out there in droves, is/was a myth.

  4. Diplomad,

Instapundit has a post up saying that a secret trip by Rep Issa to the ME was leaked by Democrats, and has put Issa in danger. Think there's any chance this is along the lines of "will no one rid me of this troublesome priest?"

Sorry to hear that your dog was sick and glad to know he's better. Speaking as a dog owner myself.

  5. As a professional who worked for 15 years in the NHS I feel I have to point out that you appear to have forgotten to proof-read your post

But that was entertaining, though. :)

  8. I have to disagree. To get an idea of what obamacare is going to me like, visit your local VA hospital, after making sure it isn't one of the 'preferred' ones... (i.e. the ones with enough docs, and proper appointments...) or go to L.A.County General Hospital... anf look at the people trudging in every 90 minutes for what those of us who have experienced them call 'cattle call clinics' where you're told what time to show up, and you just sit and wait to be seen... and wait... and wait.. expect any specialist appointment scheduled for later than 10:30 AM to take all day. Anything after three, expect to not be seen that day, and be told to come back on the next 'clinic day' which may be the next day, or may be in a week. Expect all specialist appointments (to cattle call clinics) to be two plus months away. Expect to never see the same doctor twice for anything chronic. Expect to not get expensive treatments after being told they aren't 'cost effective'.

Now take that and apply it to EVERYONE.

That's the end result of Obamacare.
