Good or Bad for the Jews

"Good or Bad for the Jews"

Many years ago, and for many years, I would travel to Morocco to visit uncles, cousins, and my paternal grandmother. Some lived in Tangiers;...

Earth Day: Rededicate Yourself to the Fight Against Gaia

I almost forgot it was Earth Day.

I usually take advantage of this Magnificent Day to remind one and all that for all the fawning and gushing over the Earth by certain folks, the Earth is out to kill you. Mother Nature is homicidal. Don't believe me? Go for a trek across Death Valley in July; go for a walk in the Himalayas without a coat; go swim with the Great Whites; sail on the Titanic, etc.

Mother Nature, our beloved Earth Goddess Gaia, is a mass murderer.

The history of civilization is in great part the story of man's fight against Gaia. Those societies most successful in holding back the Evil Goddess are the most successful, period. We build houses, invent medicine, wear clothes, run heaters and air conditioners, and fly rescue choppers in our never-ending battle against Gaia.

Remember that the next time one of your tree hugging friends blathers on about Earth Day.

  1. Not to mention that the one of the fathers of earth day, Ira Einhorn, and the Master of Ceremonies at the very first earth day brutally murdered his girl friend a few years later and was able to avoid justice for 25 years. He is now serving a life prison term.

  2. On this day I drive my F-250 Diesel double the normal miles and as a bonus I always floor it while passing gaily colored biking groups here in the land of St. Lance Armstrong.
I once knew a guy who had been a postman in Africa near one of the big game reserves. He covered his route by bicycle and many times had to ride in the dark while hearing lions roar. He said he wasn't interested in being one with nature.

  3. The appropriate celebration is one large bushel basket of bunker coal piled high within a car tire - and lit at sundown as a beacon of light, for the world to see. Those who cannot see this bright light will certainly smell it!

  5. As one who Mother Nature came very close to killing a couple of years ago, I always carry a plastic bag with me. The worshippers tell me that plastic bags are killing the Earth, which is why stores can no longer use them, so the next time MN comes gunning for me, I'm going to wave my plastic bag at her!

  6. I chose to celebrate that vanishing American Tradition on the last Friday of April known as Arbor Day.
Got a native sappling and saw a decent spot in an old burn area that would be good for planting. The the kids and I will get our summer garden going.

  7. Gaia is nothing but the Ashera for which my Dad's ancestors got kicked out of 'Eretz Yisroel and exiled to Babylon for 70 years back in the 8th century B.C. Come to think of it, a lot of ancient cultures made human sacrifices to this abomination of a goddess, so--NO THANKS!

And, since the beginning of the Good Book tells me that God created the Heavens and the Earth, the Earth is my sister, not my mother.

  8. Around here, we dig the snow out of the burn barrels and burn the winter's accumulation of cardboard. Weenies and marshmallows are optional.
