Joe Biden Emerges: Sees Shadow . . .

Just a quick note or two.

I see that America's oldest Groundhog emerged from his lair and reported to Scranton, his boyhood home. There the old plagiarist unveiled "his" economic proposal for a "Biden" presidency.

"He" ripped off the title of "his" proposal from hundreds of Trump speeches, and the contents from Bernie Sanders, AOC, Elizabeth Warren, and, of course, Karl Marx.

He stumbled through a bizarre presentation--which the MSM, of course, praised--laying out a bizarre proposal to raise taxes, end "shareholder capitalism," and "Buy American"--as long as such purchases "comply" with WTO regulations--for all sorts of infrastructure proposals, and clean cars, and medical equipment, and, and.

Pathetic. This is the best the Democrat Party can do.

The Republic is finished if this old mountebank gets the presidency.

With any luck, he will return to his cave.

I am very much afraid that, in fact, is the idea.

  4. Dip, a mountebank is a flamboyant charlatan. That describes the O far better than it does his Veep.

Joe Biden, who once was the Veep,
Has turned out to be one creepy creep.
    The girls, they don't smile,
    When old Joe gets tactile,
But the media won't let out a peep!

  5. Looking at it from outside the USofA I'd be more concerned who is chosen to be the VP. Joe ought to be as well as it could effect his life expectancy if he actually wins the election - which I fervently hope he does not for all our sakes.

    1. I'm not sure the VP is the person to watch. I'm starting to suspect that there will be a politburo aka "advisors" of sorts behind both the POTUS and VP that will be calling the shorts.

    2. Agree. This would be a government by committee just as in the Soviet Union after Stalin and Khrushchev.

  6. Slow Joe has become Marginally Coherent Joe, so the one we have to worry about is the Veep candidate, presumably a woman, probably "Of Color" as they say.

  7. The selection of the VP will be critical. I would put odds at 90% that as soon as Biden is in Office the Deep State will find a way to retire him and put the VP in Office.
Of course Biden then put his foot up his butt (to keep his head company no doubt) and promised his VP would be a woman of color (not the most capable. or even somewhat capable, but a big fat virtue signal to the radical Left) which eliminates a host of Deep Staters, Clintons, Warrens, etc.

  8. I can only hope that there are more folks that see the insanity of the Democrats and only the most hardcore leftist's stick with it. Resulting in a 1968 like election. The Democrat convention should be the tell for sure.

    1. I think it unlikely there will be an actual convention.
Maybe some sort of Zoom gathering.

    1. The other Dems made him look not so bad in comparison. They lost to Joe, sort of like losing to 'none of the above'. Joe didn't really win except by default.

  10. I am astonished that David Goldman, who I respect a lot, thinks Biden's "Plan" is serious and could win the election.

  11. Biden has apparently promised to protect American manufacturing jobs by implementing a higher tax on the foreign earnings of American corporations. I’ve seen similar proposals from others, and it can’t work, because it implicitly assumes that all corporations are Americans.

If a manufacturing company wants to take advantage of lower foreign costs but can’t do so directly because of the foreign-profits tax, all they have to do is to import the products from a non-US company…voila, no foreign earnings involved.

And if all US manufacturing companies should (very improbably) become super-patriotic and do all their manufacturing in the US, then foreign companies would merely export their products directly into the US. And most consumers would buy them if they were 10% cheaper for apparently-equivalent quality.

Tariffs are apparently theologically unacceptable to the Dems at the moment, though historically, they were the party that favored them.

    1. We have to remember that today's Democrats are effectively the party of the super-rich and the crony capitalists who have absolutely no loyalty to the US whatsoever. They care only about inflating stock prices.

Hence the Democrat objection to tariffs -- which might make it more difficult for Democrat funders to import stuff produced without any reference to the environmental laws, wages, and labor conditions they have imposed in the US.

This is, of course, unsustainable. But today's Democrats operate only according to Keynes maxim -- "In the long run, we are all dead". (And "we" -- our rich selves -- are the only ones we care about)

Convoluted logic perhaps, but the inscrutable, if not murderous ChiCom design for the planet, needs decoding first, then a GUTCHECK to examine our chances on how we the LAST BEST HOPE for Freedom, can get the Jin back in a corked bottle!~~~
