I have been remiss in writing, and it is not just because of travel and the idiosyncrasies of my somewhat aged IPad. I am feeling overwhelmed by the number and scope of the scandals pouring forth from this most corrupt misadministration. Simply put, just about any one of the scandals now emerging would have brought down a Republican administration. None, however, seems to produce anything more than an occasional scratch or dent in the bumper of the Obamista gangster ride. Our noble leader carries on, uttering his platitudes, bromides, and lies, fearing nothing except maybe the glare of the sun on his teleprompter.
Speaking of the sun, it suddenly dawned on me (Is that a segue or what?) what is happening. There are two basic ways for a politician to avoid the scandal radar ("scandar"). One, the most popular of course, is to try to fly below the scandar, e.g., keep things secret, or fool it in some way by lying, spinning, bobbing and weaving, firing a feckless aide here and there, and, above all, deny, deny, deny, and say things such as, "I don't have time for this nonsense. I must get back to the people's work." What we have in the Obama years, however, is not one or two scandals flying about, but a huge, sun-blocking flock of them! Think back. It is almost impossible to catalog them all: disastrous economy, rising unemployment, Solyndra, the GM and Chrysler bail-out, the covert war against Mexico, the blatant politicization of the Department of Justice, tax cheats nominated to key positions, voter fraud, the use of the IRS to suppress dissent, going after uncooperative journalists, NSA snooping and on and on.
The Obamista strategy? Embrace the scandals. They defeat the scandar with chaff. Ordinary crooks try to hide the target from the scandar, the Obamistas overwhelm the scandar with targets, real and fake. They start with the knowledge that the liberal media/Hollywood/public sector/education industry has no real stomach for going after Obama; that industry, after all, created and pushed him into the White House. In addition, the Obamistas throw out all sorts of chaff consisting of things of no importance. We see now that there is a burning need to reduce the U.S. nuclear arsenal. Huh? How many people have been killed by US nukes in the past, say, fifty years? How does that number stack up next to the body count tallied up by Islam? As the "science" behind global warming crumbles, we suddenly have a burning need to introduce climate change legislation. Unemployment keeps rising, so we now need to "legalize" millions of illegal aliens. You can see more and more chaff being dispensed on an almost daily basis.
The bottom line: these Obamistas will do anything to keep power. Do not think that they plan to give up power once The One leaves the White House. We are seeing the most ambitious and ruthless expansion of the liberal state since the New Deal.
I weep. Then hope my Tea Party grows stronger.
ReplyDeleteNot if the IRS Stoppage and the NSA Stasi have anything to say about it.
DeleteAnd what makes you think that The One, The Annointed, The God-King will ever leave office? What makes you think he won't disband Congress? Or will allow elections in 2016?
ReplyDeleteLets face reality: if they lose, if they leave office, they all have a very good chance of going to jail for life. And they KNOW it.
This is not an administration, it's a ruling cabal. The president and his appointees in cabinet posts want to rule the United States as the "only true representatives of the people", and they'll gladly kill anyone who disagrees. We need to hang a few dozen people, by the neck, from lamp posts in Washington, DC, so that no one in the future will ever try this again. It's either up to the military to support and defend the Constitution, or it's up to the people. The Civil War killed more than one million people out of a population of about 50 million. It may be necessary to exceed that percentage to re-establish constitutional government in Washington. The targets aren't just Democrats: there are a number of Republicans that are aiding and abetting this president and his dangerous policies.
ReplyDeleteThe republicans in Congress are a greater disappointment to me than even the administration. I never expected Obama to be more than he is... but, the republican leadership is either nonexistent or working in concert with the democrats.
DeleteLike others, I had hoped the Tea Party would save us during the last election. But I wasn't aware of the challenges the Tea Party faced from the IRS, FBI, EPA, etc.
The nation needs term limits. We need a flat and fair tax system. We need a balanced budget and an end to deficit spending. The vast power structure that exists in Washington needs to be torn down and power returned to the states. The farce known as the affordable health care act needs to be repealed and responsibility for health and wellbeing put back into the hands of families and individuals. Education should be placed back under the control of states and local governments. Every state should be a right to work state. Reinstate the draft and return God to our schools and institutions.
As individuals and as a nation we must live free or die. There is no middle ground, only a slippery slope into the abyss.
It's easy, it's simple, it's fast and it is expedient... What you ask?
DeleteAbout one year prior to the next presidential election, just go ahead and collapse the economy. After six months, say in May, when riots and hunger have ravaged America through a bitter winter - give notice. Tell the American public that the November elections will be delayed until this great nation called the United States of America gets back upon her feet.
Give that speech with great "patriotic" fanfare, flags waving and military snapping salutes - a wonderful drama from Obama! The people are to tired to fight, shifting from state to state, looking for safety and food.
Obama - the last elected President of the United States.
A ruling cabal with the anti-American NSA/Stasi as their main weapon.
DeleteOh yes, the re-education camps will be ready and well manned. Staffed with men/women who got their training with the TSA. After 5 years in a re-education camp, separated from society, a person will be more than ready to obey.
DeleteWho will enter these camps? Lot's of Obama supporters to start with! There's no wrath like the wrath of the newly converted - just ask someone who has given up tobacco or alcohol! LOL What a shock that will be for Hollywood.
My new watchword: 1789.
ReplyDelete1789? That's probably about how many of my emails the anti-American NSA/Stasi has read in the last year.
DeleteI was with you until you mentioned returning to the draft. Uh, no. The all-volunteer military is working. Returning to the draft would destroy it. I would much rather establish a militia of all adults between the age of 18 and 65 who are able to perform -- that I'd go along with. Those that want to serve on active duty or in the reserve of the armed forces and earn a retirement would be required to volunteer. Let's not tamper with something that's working, and working well.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I would insist upon is better training on the Constitution, both in school and in the military. I retired after 26 years and several dozen "professional training" courses, and never once was the Constitution of the United States mentioned.
The learning of the Constitution, why it came about, John Locke and other important philosophies and experiences, Greece onwards, both religious and political as formative backgrounds, the perspective of history and tyranny through the ages, both religious and dictatorships, the exceptional nature of the Founders, their reasoning, their pledge, sacrifices and consequences to them individually as heroes, and to the benefit of the construction of a Nation, unique in history, all this must be learned by many, preferably most. And it must be taught by good peoples.
DeleteThat as a Nation today, is our greatest current weakness, damn near no one really knows the most important reason de terre for our existence today as a Nation, and the Freedom to conduct business and self without big brother, the one, riding on our backs, every moment in every way, bedroom outward, and anywhere on earth!
Jack
Interesting point on the Constitution. As I think back, I can identify no course at the Foreign Service Institute on the Constitution.
DeleteBack in the days of a draft we all approached our 18th birthday knowing service to country was an obligation. I received my notice when I was five weeks in at the recruit depot in San Diego. It was an unusual time as even the Corps was drafting - not many but there were a few in our platoon. There was a noticeable difference between those of us who enlisted and the draftees. It was a difference that for the most part vanished by the time we were called Marines rather than recruits. (Well, truth be told we were seldom called recruits but I don't want to offend anyone by using more colorful expressions.) As you know, service to country changes people - for the better. And, this would be a better place if there were more of us rather than fewer.
DeletePerhaps I should have just suggested service rather than draft.
In the Local, State, and National Government course I taught to high schoolers, we were required to introduce a set of founding documents from Magna Carta on through the Constitution and various amendments. When we went on to the three branches of government, civil rights, and other things, I also made sure we reviewed relevant portions of the Constitution. We also had to look at a number of landmark cases; although the bias of the textbook was for expanding rights for Leftist client groups and pressing how McCulloch v. Maryland virtually gave a blank check to expansive roles for the national government. Still, I used these parts of the curriculum to press the ideas of limited government, rule of law, separation of powers, and the Constitution (plus its precursors) as a guard against tyranny.
DeleteHowever, I suspect that a lot of other people teaching government were of the mind that our Constitution is an outmoded, horse-and-buggy sort of document, and have a lot more faith in the expansive state than I have.
However, I fear that a missing part of the puzzle is that our society no longer seriously reads the Bible as a politically relevant document. As a Christian, by "Bible", I of course mean the Old and New Testaments. But I believe that the Old Testament is especially relevant to our cultural crisis. We have a political elite and much of our population demanding that we become as the nations round about, much as the Israelites demanded that Samuel give them a king (I Samuel 8). And, if we go back to the European debates between the advocates of absolute monarchy and those of Constitutionalism during the 16th and 17thh centuries, we see that it was an extended exegetical dispute over whether Samuel's comments on the "mishpat hamelek" (manner, law, or judgment of a king) in I Samuel 8 are a warning against the social havoc a monarch might wreak or a listing of royal prerogatives. In a nutshell, the Parliamentary Puritans and Scots Covenanters took the first option, King Charles I took the second, an thus lost his head.
With the decline of cultural familiarity with the Hebrew Bible, we have lost an important warning about the trouble governments and rulers can make for all of us; including leading us to the destruction of the nation.
Our current career army is FUBAR. WWII was won with an overwhelmingly non-career Army and even non-career Navy. An all career military is no better than an all career political class. Afcrapistan, and to a lesser degree Iraq, is an unmitigated disaster.
DeleteNice contribution, here Kepha!
DeleteI offer brief additional insights in the support of religion, (I do mean always Judeo-Christian, not excluding the goodness of real religions, excluding only the pretender-imposter phony non-religion, which was physically warring even then, aganst us!), in the Founding of America, with the highest ideals possible at the moment of the Founding, to be improved upon, over time, and also such improvements suggested with these quotes of the Founders: http://www.choicesforliving.com/spirit/part4/america8.htm Founding Fathers quotes, with religion as supportive, in great trials and concern, for such momentous endeavors, undertaken.
And the Nation's first Prayer, 1774, here:
http://acheritagegroup.org/blog/?p=340 First Prayer, and inspiration arising therefrom
It could be a source of an interesting discussion alone, this quote from John Witherspoon, signer, :
John Witherspoon, signer of the Declaration of Independence:
"He is the best friend to American liberty, who is most sincere and active in promoting true and undefiled religion, and who sets himself with the greatest firmness to bear down profanity and immorality of every kind. Whoever is an avowed enemy of God, I scruple not [do not hesitate] to call him an enemy of his country."
Both Books of the Bible were indeed an intimate part of America's founding. Born of ideas and principles from God, a keen sense of personal integrity and responsibility derived therefrom, evidenced from the above two reads. History with keen principles is writ large in the above quotations from the Founders!

Jack:
DeleteJohn Witherspoon, teacher of James Madison and numerous others at the College of New Jersey, was heir to a tradition that stood in the thick of the battle for limited government--Scottish Presbyterianism.
And, interestingly enough, his whole career in Scotland was intimately bound up with the Evangelical/Popular Party against the so-called "moderates". That is, Witherspoon stood as a champion of his church's confessional orthodoxy rather than on the side of theological innovation.
I'll also venture the the books of the Bible point us to a greater power than the kings of earth--those pretentious fools scheming to break the bonds of YHWH and His Anointed (Psalm 2). We have God's Word on it that the last laugh will be God's.
In today's Army, they teach respect for islam and the koran and the Monster Who Walked The Earth, mohamhead, all moslimbs "Perfect Man"..

I just "hope" shrillary, hussein (“The One, The Anointed, The God-King”), and the rest of that rancid entourage, become "Gone with the Wind", at the appointed time, like her disgusting "Frankly, (my American dears) I don't give a damn" pirated quote version that she seems to have switched into "At this point, (my American dears), what difference does it make?" And that is the attitude I get from the whole rancid lot of them. The “mocking of America” “ruling” class of liars, cheats, schemers, deceivers, and out of touch with Americans incompetents, as we just don’t stop learning about, more and more, what they have been doing behind our backs!
DeleteHell, see hussein’s brand new pledge he has adopted errr-kind of tongue in cheek, but true by behavior, since he refused, or didn’t even know, to do the hand over heart Pledge in 2008, (maybe he’s from a different country or raised in one, and didn’t know that real Americans and POTUS’S cover their heart to say the Pledge of their real, actual, and true Allegiance to America-Ha-of course that must be why he didn’t!) here: http://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/2013/06/21/obama-finally-takes-the-pledge/

ReplyDeleteWith the spy on us 24 hours a day, 365 days a year NSA Stasi, which you seem to much approve of, leading the way.
I do not approve of spying on Americans, although truth be told, most Americans plaster their lives all over the internet quite independently from NSA. I am, however, against treason; I am against people with security clearances running off and spilling their guts to the Chinese and Russians. Going to the Chinese and Russians has nothing to do with any moral outrage over what NSA has done at home. Should we approve of Lord Haw-Haw and Ezra Pound, too?
DeleteI doubt very much that Snowden knows anything the Russians and Chinese want to know that they didn't already know. Do you think he gave them plans to the newest stealth aircraft or nuclear bombs or are '007' agents? If so, how did he have access to such things? NSA/Stasi is an anti-American abomination if ever there was one. The Founding Father's would consider it far worse than King George. You are focusing on the incidental when you focus on Snowden and letting the vital mostly pass. Now Obama's NSA/Stasi spies on us all and the one who blows the whistle on those anti-Americans is the spy? Utterly absurd on it's face. And don't tell me the government is making us safe. With their see no islam, hear no islam, speak no islam, know no isalm, they are doing the exact opposite. The NSA, FBI, DHS, TSA and probably the CIA nowadays, are all but utterly worthless.
DeleteMr. Diplomad I don't think traitors and betrayers exist the way you are describing Snowden. Everything is a big game to the present government. He probably isn't a surprise....
DeleteWell Mr. Mad your comments have gotten quite lively as of late!
ReplyDeleteIt feels like we are a Tea Party online, today, James! Wonder how the great Dip feels about that, perhaps proud?

NSA leakers. See Tice at: Bush-Era NSA Whistleblower Makes Most Explosive Allegations Yet About Extent of Gov’t Surveillance — and You Won’t Believe Who He Says They Spied On
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/06/20/bush-era-nsa-whistleblower-makes-most-explosive-allegations-yet-about-true-extent-of-govt-surveillance/
"Russ Tice, a former intelligence analyst and Bush-era NSA whistleblower....
Then Tice dropped the bombshell about Obama.
“Here’s the big one,” he said. “[T]his was in summer of 2004, one of the papers that I held in my hand was to wiretap a bunch of numbers associated with a 40-something-year-old wannabe senator for Illinois. You wouldn’t happen to know where that guy lives right now would you? It’s a big white house in Washington, D.C. That’s who they went after, and that’s the president of the United States now.”
FBI whistleblower Sibel Edmonds and Tice agreed that such wide-ranging surveillance of officials could provide the intelligence agencies with unthinkable power to blackmail their opponents." So there is more going on then just Snowden or the NSA, and I'm on the fence because I well more than many, see both sides. The public has been made angry--justly--in spades!

And above earlier comment, on Tice, too.
Personally, I am certain this NSA type domestic spying has gone way too far, regarding our Constitutional protections, particularly with this regime in charge, and all their demonstrated liar management suit types. On that I'm not on the fence. On reading Snowden's answers from a day ago and other pieces, I am not at all assured he spilled any beans to our adversaries. I don't think he has, nor likely will he spill beans to our adversaries, privately. And so far, he hasn't said much more than I and many other geek management types knew, except the details. I don't like the details we already now know, but it is of little consequence to the opposition, compared to we the people, IMO. In this world, there are plenty of hard core accomplished liars, and posers, but I've not yet seen reason to color him one. Color me naive, but I retain the right to change my mind on that comment, even though a male, sorry girls, my definition of real males is that they can change their minds too-ha. However his concept is set, I see an attempt so far at a patriotic motivation, and he may be proven right, with the right or wrong approach, to be determined by events, mostly in his control, so far.
On the contrary, China and Russia have stolen much from our government and industry, with old fashioned spying, the updated version vis a vis IT. Hell's Bells, they have some of our F-35 or other advanced design plans, at least parts of it is believed. Actually, we don't know yet how much they have "copped", that I'm yet aware of.
Hey, it's a dangerous world, be careful our there, while you are on patrol, said the police squad captain! So it is, and a changing one at that.

What I think we need for America, what I’d like to see for America’s future, is a statesman-orator, perhaps a Tea Party type, a Rand Paul type, someone with a Patriotic speechwriter similar to Peggy Noonan for Reagan, a George Mason, a Reagan, a Jefferson, a Madison, a Washington. One who will stand and say, in so many words, Mr. President, Mr. Hussein, “tear down these un-American Walls”, all your edict executive orders, your czars, your rules, your laws, everything you have done these past depressing years. It is totally against America. If you can’t, we Americans will, brick by miserable brick, that which you have done irresponsibly against Americans individuals and businesses, and America’s fundamental interests, national and global. People, it will be a long and difficult road, but it is possible, in America. It is necessary, for America. It is necessary.
ReplyDeleteInspiring positive leadership will get it done, with a dedication to historic American ideals, the one’s that made us the most admired nation in the world before this jerk regime started to tear us down. The founding ideals that made us the shining light of the earth, without the dim bulbs. No demigods need apply.
I’ve a feeling, America would like to see the obliteration of the IRS and the instituting of a reasonably fair, both to individuals and businesses, kind of a flat tax arrangement. There will need to be a tax bureau, but it should be a tenth or hundredth size, with friendliness, as its main focus. I believe it can be done, with the right actual leaders.
By rewards primarily, we need to also bring honesty, integrity, and ethics back to Wall street, top to bottom, and businesses as much as individuals. Reality and honesty should be the bywords of America. An immense amount of corrections need to be accomplished. And it must be done with a leader, because integrity, and leading by very inspiring good ethical God inspired example, is necessary, after America has been bathed in such evil dirt as has been going on these recent 5 years, and even more years!
I’ve a feeling, the right ethical inspiring and inspired leader, will accomplish setting the ship of America back on the course of self-respect, of the Nation, the individual, and business, even scientific research, which with the lack of integrity on display with “climate warming”, is in less than the finest self-respect that had been present in the days of the accomplishments of the total life changing Bell Laboratories (solid state transistors, see their top ten world-shaking developments here: http://www3.alcatel-lucent.com/wps/portal/!ut/p/kcxml/04_Sj9SPykssy0xPLMnMz0vM0Y_QjzKLd4w3MXMBSYGYRq6m-pEoYgbxjggRX4_83FT9IH1v_QD9gtzQiHJHR0UAaOmbyQ!!/delta/base64xml/L3dJdyEvd0ZNQUFzQUMvNElVRS82X0FfNDZL
Bell labs accomplishments are on a par with the Founders of America, in my informed opinion, and I am in awe of both groups, as I am of the Holy Bible). We do have some serious accomplishments with DARPA and related agencies, at least, and some stunning research accomplishments as well, in many collegiate and other research laboratories. And thank G-d for the Israelis research laboratories, also, with incredible accomplishments.
Media needs to pull itself out of the swanp it sleep in, very much, of course.
Such leader must inspire all types of real American citizens, of course including Hispanic, African, and White extractions, unhyphenated Americans all, and all other bents of Americans, who share even a glimmer of the eternal American dream.
Let us search for those inspirational leaders, those with courage, and wisdom and wise American convictions, and pray that we do find them.
America will then be the shining light of the world, a global inspiration again.

“Edward Snowden: Hero or traitor?”
ReplyDeletePick one, now, the question demands, before we learn anything else, think anything more. In this way, our attention is focused onto Snowden, the man, not Uncle Sam, the secret megastate. We wade into a vortex of emotions whirling around loyalty to the republic: a republic with sovereign borders, or so we hope; that runs by rule of law, or so we think; where citizenship is precious, or so we imagine.
What Snowden’s revelations confirm, however, is that such a republic no longer exists – except as a mirage that powerful Surveillance State officials spin as reality.
Tap, tap – answer the question! “Hero or traitor?”
“Traitor!” some cry, never noticing that Snowden’s leak makes him a “traitor” to the Surveillance State, not the republic of memory. But such a gaffe is fine with our Big Brothers, from President Obama and FBI Director Robert Mueller to former Vice President Dick Cheney.
Listen the next time they insist that it is only the current state of mass surveillance that can preserve our folkloric republic, its residual form currently being liquidated by “immigration-reforming” U.S. senators, whose “hero” or “traitor” status we might also weigh. Listen the next time they argue that only PRISM, only stockpiling hundreds of millions of cellphone conversations, emails, texts and other personal records, can prevent a fiery cloud of new 9/11s.
Now they are even telling us that the first 9/11 could have been prevented altogether had the mass surveillance infrastructure been in place at the time.
This is a whopper too far, and with the gravest implications. Big Brother is rewriting our history again, after having withheld too many facts from We, the People, about 9/11 all along.
This new Big Lie about 9/11 is that the Snowden-leaked programs of data mining and cellphone collection might well have led authorities to identify two key Saudi hijackers in San Diego and roll up the whole al-Qaida plot. As former Florida Sen. Bob Graham, who served as co-chairman of the Congressional Joint 9/11 Inquiry, has made abundantly clear, this particular pair, Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar, was already well-known to U.S. intelligence authorities for ties to the embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania and other hostile activities. Indeed, the CIA had even listened in on conversations at an al-Qaida safe house in Yemen that referenced the pair as far back as December 1999 – no PRISM necessary.

Well said, Anon! "....never noticing that Snowden’s leak makes him a “traitor” to the Surveillance State, not the republic of memory."

Obama and his NSA/Stasi should be tried for espionage against the People of America. If another nation did this to the American people, it would be considered an act of war.
ReplyDeleteYes lively is good. The first step on the journey back to what this country was founded for is acknowledgement and frank discussion of the problem(s) now facing us. Next is corrective action, for which tools the founders gave us are still available.
ReplyDeleteWe now have a fourth branch of government unspecified and un delineated by the Constitution, the bureaucracies. Their existence dates back to the founding, but through judicial maneuvering, the Legislatures abandonment of political responsibility, and the Executive branch's hyper employment they have gained political self existence and have been captured ideologically by the left. They now crouch for employment at the feet of the liberals who have shown no qualms to use them against Congress, the Judicial system, the Press, the Education system, the Armed Forces etc. And as I have so poorly said they've managed to gather about themselves the aura of a "fourth branch" that we must accept instead of being employees serving at our pleasure.
I do believe in the law (and I'm aware of the dictum "the law is an ass") and believe in it for my own sake. I do believe that when you voluntarily join a governmental organization and agree under oath to follow it's rules as prescribed by law you must accept the consequences of breaking that oath. That being said, if while in that organization you discover action that in "your judgement" constitutes contravention of the Constitution it is incumbent upon you to bring that to public light. But it must be done here and I am not naive of the probable result. The inclusion of a hostile foreign power in what is a fundamental internal political question is a path of extreme danger.
With all that hot air exhaled I shall now go play golf something a lot easier.
I'm going to quibble with your remarks about the expansion of the "liberal" state. "Liberal" used to mean being in favor of liberty, and seeing it as the highest political good (as for me, I'm more a lover of godliness--but that includes respecting the mitzvah that we don't bear false witness). The state we have under the O and his minions is one led by closet totalitarians.
ReplyDeleteKepha,
DeleteI agree. Liberal is a term that's changed so much it's hard to give contemporary definition, thus has the Left corrupted language. "The state we have under the O and his minions is one led by closet totalitarians." This too is true, though they've come out of the closet in many ways. In many ways it comes down to the question of do Institutions by their nature corrupt people or do people corrupt the Institutions. I believe that it is a little of both and in the past was somewhat manageable, but once it gets so big and the people are ideologically the same it takes a life of it's own and must proceed in ways that lead tyranny and totalitarianism. "Must" is crucial here. On matters of the divine I leave to others more competent than I, but I know the profane when I see it! Golf was an unfortunate choice for me today.
Folks,
ReplyDeleteMan plans but God disposes.......
When things look this grim I get up even earlier and pray. And I know God is in control. I could have not sent our son on his 12th deployment a few months ago, had I not been fully assured of his being in God's care.
And I am not naive...things are not alright in my beloved Republic but I think these folks will have the ultimate comeuppance sent by the hand of God. Just wait, hold the truth, act like NOAH, and be on your knees, and hold to the understanding that GOD is almighty and waits for HIS PEOPLE to call upon Him to act. And then thank Him.
